GGT 30 comes free with PSN+

Hm, I don't think I paid $15 for any XBLA game now that I think about it...at minimum I got a ton of points for like half price or less.

has anyone tried adding a game that wasn't available when u made ur fight club order?

wondering if i can upgrade my standard halo reach copy to an LE since i have a gift card to add to the order
I saw on Major Nelson's site that the new XBLA app is only available during Summer of Arcade. Why did they bother if it's not even going to be available for that long?
...Microsoft once again proving how stupid they are?

Why on Earth would they make an app to making finding XBLA games easier a limited time offer?

Yes, I've been doing it without any problems so far. (knocks on wood).

Saw the new Dragon Age II screens...I dunno how I feel about the new art style yet.

They're Game Rooming Destination Arcade.
What game is that? I haven't paid $15 for any games on XBLA recently.
Monday Night Combat

A class-based third-person shooter, Monday Night Combat is set in a future when weapon-based combat has become a popular sport. Success will net you cash and prizes, which can then be used to upgrade your character. There are six different classes, a career mode, and numerous multiplayer modes. It's due to be released on August 11.

Monday Night Combat is excellent. If it doesn't catch on it's a shame. One of my favorite games at PAX. Hydro Thunder is also really great, i would pay $15 for it.

I don't understand the complaint with $15 when Hydro Thunder was a $50 launch title for the dreamcast and this one has at least as much content plus online play.

I guess people like to complain.

Yeah, VC games should be $50-$90 as well like the originals.

---

I'll wait for sales on all the upcoming XBLA exclusives. Only one looks decent anyway. (limbo)
MNC is supposed to be a bit more like third-person DotA.
DotA , as in Warcraft 3 mod DotA/League of Legends/Heroes of Newerth?
Oh yeah, I forgot about Limbo. I'm interested in that one too.

MS is giving 1600pts for buying all five of the Summer of Whatever titles, but I don't want them all.
Pretty sure you get a rebate for buying three of them as well.
Yeah, that's how people tend to describe it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday_Night_Combat#Gameplay
Hmmm , hadn't heard that before , based on gameplay videos it looks more like Team Fortress. Either way it sounds and looks fun and with it (being described as) being DotA maybe I can get my brothers to split the cost of it since they are huge DotA/League of Legends fans (not so much Heroes of Newerth).

Well, I think I'm going to be going through my backlog now that I'm Crackdown'd out until the DLC comes out. I think next I'm going to beat Hellboy and Dead Space.

Anyone just .. not care about games anymore? I rented Split/Second and it's pretty fun, but other than that, no recent releases or nothing coming out soon has me interested. Maybe I'm just burnt out from working retail for years. I have a HUGE backlog that I will likely NEVER get around to playing, so I think that I'm just going to list it all for sale on glyde.
Anyone just .. not care about games anymore?
I care about them more than ever, it's the rebirth of my favorite genre ever.
Fighters, duh.

Other genres though... eh... not so much. I pay attention to just particular developers' games now, like mikami and itagaki.

this cept replace the last two names with almost nobody for the time being.

Ahhh, finished Red Dead Redemption single player. What a great game!

I still have a bunch of stuff to unlock and such, but I'm glad I got through the story mode, it was pretty well done.

Those VC games aren't brand new games either. If we keep that analogy to $10 for Ocarina of Time and $50 for Twilight Princess, $15 for Hydro Thunder Hurricane is a steal.
Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about that.
As am I! I'm so glad they started this up for College students. :D I can finally experience the awesomeness of Prime.

Too lazy to update it, I guess.
They'll all wind up at 560-800 points for a bit.
Exactly, I'll be waiting for the drops, but honestly the games don't interest me as much as past years.

Yet another crappy thing about having graduated in 2010. (Admittedly, this is very minor compared to things like, ya know, THE JOB MARKET).

It would be nice to see them allow actual permanent price drops so the overpriced $15 games could get a second wind at $10.
i'm interested in Vanquish. that's about it.

playing some FFXII international w/ english patch. good shiz.
English patch is finally out? Hot damn, I'm playing that shit this week.

it's been out, but i think the most current one really makes the game fully playable. it's patch .19.

It's common sense, really. What is wrong with MS? There's no way those launch arcade games are selling well anymore. Same thing with DLC for games like Kameo or Crackdown. That shit should be dirt cheap if not free by now.

Voted for you as well. Started SC: Conviction yesterday and finished it in the same sitting. Good game other than some places where the difficulty jumped up really high.

Aww, I'll just wait then.

why? it's really nice. I've only seen one spot of Japanese and it's on some useless part of a menu. like I said---fully playable, just about fully translated.

Agree with both points. For permanent discounts they do have the "arcade hits" section , but considering the only new game they've added to that since it debuted in 2008(?) is Braid it doesn't seem very productive.

As for the DLC for older games , there was a thread in the deals forum where it seemed that DLC for a bunch of older games had reduced to $1-$3. Although the games included seemed kinda random.

Yeah, it seems like they only price drop games to put in Arcade Hits, which gets maybe three games added to it each a year at most.

Just looking at something that's on Steam, PSN, and XBLA, the two Penny Arcade Adventures episodes are $5 each on Steam, in a bundle for $15 on PSN, and the first and second episodes are $20 and $15 respectively on XBLA.

Oh shit, I misread that then lol. I'm a dumbass today.

Will play.

MS has little incentive to price drop digital content as there are no "shelf costs" or any of that retail physical box cost that might generate a lower price point.

They can periodically run "sales" if they want to spur purchases for a specific period of time, but perma-drops? Why should they?

This is one of the main reasons I don't like digital-only content.

Some of the older DLC like Kameo has been discounted drastically (even the ME "Bring down the sky" DLC is only 80 points now). They just don't advertise.

I'd be ok with no perma-drops if they run enough good sales. Look at steam , most games available on steam never "drop" in price , but almost there entire catalog will be on sale at some point during the year.

Any idea where the thread for that went? I mentioned that in my previous post but it seems the thread got deleted.

Argh, got to Eagle Tower in Link's Awakening, and just turned it off. Hate that dungeon so much. Gonna do some errands, then come back and try to knock it out in one quick run.
