The unlocks for Cyborg Ninja emblems at the end of the Truth made me feel like it was even more heavily hinted that Big Boss' Phantom was Jaeger. I figure he was probably the best person that could have been chosen by Big Boss for the job and the reflex time feels like the kind of clue to his identity that Kojima would include to be witty. My thought is that he's Big Boss until the end of MG1 and because he's beaten he sees it as failing his purpose and he effectively "dies" and becomes Frank Jaeger and then Snake for real kills him in MG2. Seeing my name on the back of the picture signed by Big Boss actually made me a squeeeee happy fanboy and my girlfriend made fun of me for it. I think it's legit the only time I've ever done that as an adult. I still feel like Kaz is a complete

ing asshole. His being pissed at the real Boss for leaving and vowing revenge by saying he'd train one of the sons of Big Boss seems like he just didn't understand things. Big Boss was clearly working on bigger and better things and still wanted to be involved in the Diamond Dogs shit, but he just needed the time. Kaz just seemed too focused on the immediacy of his desire for revenge. I must admit though, I laughed pretty hard when he said he would train a son of the Boss and Ocelot said he'd likely train the other and that they would then be enemies. It was just too on the nose for me to take it seriously. Then again, I do like that they tried to foreshadow some things further down the line in the series.. I just wish they didn't use such a heavy hand. I felt like a lot of the dialogue in specific parts didn't sound right. I think Konami may have had someone other than Kojima go in to try to stitch up the holes in the ending and in the end it just didn't feel entirely organic to the series. Overall, I loved the game. Not my favorite in the series, but it is definitely in the top 3.
