GGT 69 Wants to Party all the tim3!

Really? I've never had a single problem with Verizon the 8 years I've had a cell phone with them. Great coverage, good service the few times I've had a billing mistake etc.
Nah, it's all good--his dad wants one for his game too.

With the big Verizon announcement tomorrow, I'm wondering if I should get an iphone _ soon, or get one of these:

I'm liking the droid phones, but Apple App store is such a monster. I dunno if I can escape that Borg.
Looks kinda nice. If I was willing to pay more than $25 for a phone every month I might get that or a droid.

You must get lucky with customer service. Most people I know with VZW dislike a large majority of the company, but stay with them because of the coverage.

Crazy rant #2:
I thought they were pretty terrible back in 2008 when I changed providers and went to AT&T with an iPhone which ended up with the same coverage here, better coverage at my parents house, and better overall customer service. I had to fight with them because they lied to me about when my contract renewed so I ended up switching with less than 12 hours remaining on my contract and they hit me with a full ETF. I went back only for the android platform, because I didn't think Sprint deserved a chance based off input I'd received about their coverage in this area... however, a little over a month into my contract and I'm fighting with customer service again. They pulled some shady shit while I was playing phone-switch-o-rama... after I asked about 37 times if there was any way for me to incur fees as a result of switching to a basic phone until I found a replacement and was told no, I did. I got my next bill and got hit with over $80 in data charges from the fact that I switched from smart phone to base phone with 2 hours left in the day; they retroactively applied the change to my account to start at 12am that day and then charged me for the 30+mb of data I had from formatting and reinstalling apps on the smartphone I was selling. 4 days out of the return window and unhappy with my phone I asked if I could return it and wait for the new phone that was coming in a month, they strung me along like they were going to do something about it then laughed at me and said "tough, enjoy the phone you hate for the next 23 months". They're honestly the worst company I've ever done business with and I've considered paying the ETF several times over to just be rid of them.

I stick with Verizon because everyone I call has them, so it's like having unlimited calling for $40 a month. I should cut down my unlimited text plan to just the 500 plan now, since that has INTEXTING.

Also, their coverage is the best here.

That being said, do I go DROID BIONIC COMMANDO or Apple $$$ iPhone 4?

The grass is always greener. I hear shitty stories (and good stories) from EVERY cell phone carrier so if you're not paying too much and getting good coverage where you need it most, then I dunno what else to tell you.
Awesome song
I love you, Icebeezy.

Yeah, I've only ever had a billing problem once, and they took care of it with no hassle, so I haven't had much need to deal with their customer service.

I just go into a store every 2 years or so for the new every two phone and that's generally the only contact I have with them.

Otherwise, the coverage is great, prices are fine with me, and it would be hard for me to leave since most of my friends and family are on Verizon so I don't want to lose the free in network calling.

I had to get my phone replaced since it was turning off at random times, they sent one out 2 day Fed Ex, all I had to do was drop it off in a prepaid Fed Ex box. I got to keep the battery, so I have two batteries now. Rock 'n' roll. Love you guys.

I'm perfectly happy with Verizon, no problems other than I wish it was a bit cheaper.
So I was at the movie theater the other day and saw a poster for this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1464174/

Super Excited!
Why did you have to show me that. Why did that have to exist. On hopefully a more positive note , a friend wants to go see Green Hornet friday. Hoping its decent.

I've only had my new phone for maybe two months , so I haven't had enough time to make a judgment call about Verizons customer service , but considering the mixed things I've heard about Sprint , and REALLY didn't want to go with AT&T , I figured Verizon was my best bet.
I'm switching to Verizon in a few months, probably a droid.
Psh. The iPhone is the Phone of the Forever. Just look at mine.

IMG_0450.jpg

And I have that until Jan 2012.

Did you try going to an Apple store? A friend of mine cracked hers all to hell like that recently and they replaced it for free. Worth a shot.

My 3G is still in mint condition, my 3Gs, I don't know how I had a case on it 24/7 and the back looks like the surface of the moon.

My friend recommended some hole in the wall repair shop that does screen replacements for cheap. I went to the apple store and they want $100+. :|
lol That iPhone is FUUUUUUUUUCKED. Did you let a pitbull chew on it?
I wish. It fell from my hand and fell flat face first. I've dropped it other times and it was fine before, but I guess my luck ran out.

That sucks. Oh well, get it fixed and get a decent case for it to minimize chance of damaging it so badly from a drop in the future.

MNL, was that a 3GS or a 4?

My 3G was always in a case(lollll soopa-gay I know), but i'd always throw it on the couch when I got in, and it's bounce off onto the hardwood floors all the time yet I never had any cracking. Same thing happens now with my EVO4G, and I got no problems.

In terms of leaving Planet Jobs, yeah it's kinda tough. I left last June, and I kinda miss having the app store. I hated nearly every decision Apple made with their app store, but I'll probably go back when iPad2 is announced.

It's a 3GS. I kinda want to try out the Droid X. My friends have Verizon and they havent had any problems with their service. I havent had any problems with ATT except for the shitty reception in some areas that I visit often.

Yeah, I hated AT&T, most of Northern California for me always had bas service.

Yet I always had great service in Hawaii.
R U a 1337 hacker?

If so, I think the DX is a bad choice.
I thought they had custom ROMs for it as well, that the bootloader lock was useless.

Meh, I stopped caring about the DX like 2 weeks after it was released, like the rest on the non-DX owning Android community.

That's one issue with Andy: If it ain't welcoming to HAX, people stop caring and look forward to the newest/bestest device.

I was pretty suprised to see it honestly. I wonder how it's going to do in theaters...

Yeah definitely. I have an Incredible and I'm mostly happy with it. Although after I flashed CM6, I started getting overheating issues when browsing the web for long periods of time. I wish there were more QWERTY android devices available.

The Uncredible is what started my war with VZW this time around. God damn that phone was the biggest piece of shit when it came out. After the froyo update, it's serviceable, but before that, there's no reason anyone should've paid to own one. I wasn't really happy with it, but there wasn't anything else in the pipeline without a keyboard. On day 32 of my contract, all the details of the Droid X leaked, which is the closest thing VZW has to an EVO. It came out less than 30 days after that. :bomb:

Dang MNL...I busted some of the pixels on my 3G, but not the whole damn screen. :p

I am curious about tomorrow, but not sure I will necessarily hop on to VZW right away.
I get to upgrade on February 16th, so Imma either go Droid Bionic Commando or iPhag 4. . .What do I get?
If iPhone 4 is really on VZW, and you decide to go with it, wait until June to upgrade to get iPhone 4-2.

Ooooh, so true. It'll probably be the iPhone 4G or 4GS, knowing them.
Ooooh, so true. It'll probably be the iPhone 4G or 4GS, knowing them.
Exactly.

I was sick of getting Jobbed by Apple, so I decided to go Android. Love the platform (just wish the marketplace would catch up to app store so that game developers would put some fun time wasters out, like Peggle or PvZ; angry birds would help if it my phone could run it... ). Instead of getting Jobbed in 365 days when Apple announces iPhone 4g, I got jobbed in 32 days when the Droid X was leaked. Now I have no idea what I want for a phone or how/when I'm going to get there, but I know it's 99% likely I'll leave VZW for the second (and hopefully final) time as soon as I possibly can.

Yeah fuckin Apple...bunch of carrot-danglers leading the iSheep around with 6mo tweaks. Strong their Kool Aid is. Drink it we must.

Actually, I'm really aroused by that new Moto Atrix phone. Tech nerd that I am, I'd love to have a little handheld Linux PC to carry around. The wife wants Iphag, though, so I must comply with whatever she desires.

Android is tough because Iphone is so fucking dominant. The droid makers need to keep fighting over that little slice of pie so you're going to get burned even faster with newer and more outrageous phones until somehow Iphones stop being so freaking popular.

I think Android is pretty much destroying anything not iPhone -- if the iPhone stays on AT&T all the VZW people with iPhone envy who don't want to switch to AT&T will go droid most likely. It's a really great platform. I've already supported more developers for Android than I ever did for Apple.

If iPhone is really on VZW, then that spells trouble for droid because all the people who would've went droid and maybe even loved it will end up going iPhone instead.
Even worse if VZW and Sprint use the same radios, because then all 4 major carriers will have a way to get the iPhone on them. :|
