GGT 69 Wants to Party all the tim3!
Unfortunately the MW games both pale in comparison to the genius that is Turok Evolution.
I agree!
Really?

The only thing I liked better about MW2's campaign is they got rid of the infinite spawning enemy sections (which Treyarch unforutnately brought back for Black Ops :bomb:).

Other than that MW1's campaign and story were quite a bit better I though. Though I though MW2 was very good as well, and got too much crap in reviews and forum impressions.
Yeah, I LOVE MW2's campaign. Because of the characters (GHOST!) and the set pieces I absolutely adore it.

Gotta agree though, Blops pisses me off with the endlessly respawning enemies.

MW1's single player >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MW2's single player.

Am I the only one who thinks the characters in Dragon Age II look super generic?

Yes and yes.
Am I the only one who thinks the characters in Dragon Age II look super generic?
Dragon Age 1 had fairly generic looking characters as well, but their personalities were really well done; if Dragon Age 2 is the same then I don't really mind.
Alistar and Morrigan were the only characters worth listening to in the original IMO.
I don't know I really liked Leliana, Alistair, and Morrigan; I also used Wynne and she had her moments too (she did a good job of being that caring old lady archetype... but often a joking sort of way). I've only played the game once so I didn't really have the chance to talk much with the other party members but I have a feeling Oghren and Zevran would probably be fun.
Bioware makes shooters now, get used to it ;)

I'm fine with that, the games are amazing.

It's just funny how quickly they caught on. The first ME had such horrendous combat and then ME2 is suddenly towering over games like GeOW. Same thing with Naughtydog and Uncharted.

Yeah, that's been my main party most of the game so far.

It doesn't tower over GOW. It's just great combat for an RPG for people like me that aren't huge into RPGs because of not liking turn based combat or the in-between turn based and real time combat in a game like DA. ME2 is probably the only RPG I've played that I truly enjoyed the combat. Most have been ones I was just ok with it (Oblivion or Fallout) or hated it but dealt with it for the story/questing (DA, KOTOR, JRPGs in the past etc.).
Unfortunately the MW games both pale in comparison to the genius that is Turok Evolution.
That game was incredible. It was hyped before it was released and when it finally was it not only meet, but also exceeded all expectations.

The pterodactyl flying levels were perhaps the pinnacle of the game, Flight Simulator X wishes it could be that realistic.

Mmm well I stand by what I said, the genre ME2 falls under is irrelevant to how much better its firefights are compared to GeOW games.

And if we bring Uncharted 2 into this discussion, GeOW might as well be GoldenEye N64

No problem, just have to a agree to disagree. I'd still take the combat in Gears over ME2 anyday. ME2 is just damn good for an RPG.

But again, shooters are my favorite genre bar none, so that's my bias.
The game just really made it feel like I was actually living among dinosaurs and let me know what life would be like if I was.
I know what I would be doing if I lived among dinosaurs:

It's a shame they aren't making WWII shooters anymore. They think people are sick of them but in reality I think we're just sick of playing the same shit every game.

You're in a squad. You land on a beach/parachute into a town. There's a guy named Baker, maybe a Jenkins in there as well. You miss your hometown in Idaho. Nazis. Respawning Nazis. Exploding barrels.

You could make such a great WWII game if you tried a bit harder than that.

I never really dug the WWII shooters much. The guns of that era just aren't as fun to use as the ones in the Modern Warfare games or fantasy weapons in games like Gears or Halo IMO.

Original Call of Duty had a Soviet campaign that was fairly unique.

And in Call of Duty 2 I think most or all of the British campaign was in northern Africa.

If only MW weapons didn't sound like BB guns. I enjoy those games but that always was a big downer to me.

In terms of WWII, Day of Defeat is where it's at! Great maps, sound, and meaningful team play. And there's recoil so, you know, it's actually a game :applause:. Although I did not like what they did to the classes with Source.

On another note. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was probably one of the best MP shooters out there. Very ahead of it's time.

The first CoD was indeed a step up from the usual grind. But WWII shooters haven't really moved forward since then.

Disagree on all counts. I'm with dmaul114 on t his one -- for 3rd person cover-based shooters, I'll take Gears 1/2 over the Uncharted games or ME2 any day.

Uncharted 1/2 and ME2 have solid game mechanics, but I still think Gears does it best. Especially the multi when compared to Uncharted 2. Gears 2 may have been broken, but it was still fun when the host advantage wasn't blatantly obvious and debilitating. And horde mode was just genius.

Uncharted series has better stories than Gears does.
ME2 is swell in the way it allows you to customize.
But I'll take the Gears mechanics every time over the other two.

Edit: and I really want to play Catherine after that trailer.
Does it remind you of your crazy ass cosplaying fiances?
Considering the developer? HELLZ YA.
Yah, Fracture was great. So was the console port of FEAR 1.

Frankly, I don't know how that company is allowed to exist.
Edit: and I really want to play Catherine after that trailer.
I'm really interested in that game, because ATLUS doesn't usually do me wrong.
You mean because their games are just so unbelievably good?
Exactly, their games are so good that people stop even being able to perform normal functions and just play their games till they die.
Exactly, their games are so good that people stop even being able to perform normal functions and just play their games till they die.
That is true. I started playing fracture and couldn't stop. My family ended up having an intervention and sending me to rehab
Does it remind you of your crazy ass cosplaying fiances?
Yes, and I need to relive that part of my life.
I'm really interested in that game, because ATLUS doesn't usually do me wrong.
I need to play more ATLUS games. I've pretty much only play P3 and SMT.

Edit: When I think of ATLUS I think of Darkslime.

Monolith isn't making FEAR 3?

Mechassault was the only game I liked by Day 1.

So much fun when Live first launched.

I also just noticed I've been a member of Live for 8 years :whee:
I need to play more ATLUS games. I've pretty much only play P3 and SMT.
As far as the games that were developed by or published by ATLUS I have played and own:

SMT:Nocturne, SMT: DDS 1 & 2, Persona, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Persona 3, Persona 4, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Trauma Team, Etrian Odyssey 1-3, SMT: Devil Summoner 1 & 2, SMT: Strange Journey, Steal Princess, Super Robot Taisen: OG 1, Tactics Ogre (GBA), Ogre Battle, Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber, Riviera: The Promised Land, My World, My Way, Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja, Lufia: The Ruins of Lore, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Magna Carta: Tears of Blood, and Demon's Souls

Most Atlus games are pretty shitty, but the SMT series is consistently excellent with very few exceptions. I also like Trauma Center ^_^

That's seriously a pretty accurate portrayal of Atlus fans... if NeoGAF's denizens are to be believed.
