Started to play through through Lost Odyssey, so far im impressed, and the added challenge is a bit refreshing and frustrating at the same time. I heard that the beginning was pretty boring but im about 6 hours in and pretty hooked.

And eventually i need to go back to Eternal Sonata which i am about 12-13 hours into, and then Enchanted Arms which im about 30 hours into and have been playing on and off since release day.

And i wont even start on PS2 RPGs and my backlog of games ive already started.

Enchanted Arms (PS3) can be found all over the net for about $20, and its what I bought it for a month or so ago. I probably won't get around to playing it till after the first of the year tho. Trying now to clean out my PS2 RPG backlog first.

The FFIV DS remake is full of all sorts of awesome. Anyone who thinks the SNES/PS1/GBA versions are better needs their head examined. I like the voice acting, of what I've heard so far at least.
For me it's mostly because I can't run as easily as I could in the SNES version. In the SNES version you can run before they can even hit you. In the DS version they get like 4-5 free hits on you.
That happened to me at first, but sometimes I can run without a problem.

I'm playing Digital Devil Saga 2, and I just got to the part where Serph
goes bye-bye. It pissed me off that I put so much time in with him and now he's gone. He was 3-4 levels higher than everyone else, and I invested nearly all my MP/HP/Vit/etc Data into him, and now he's gone.

I desperately need a TRU 3 for 2 DS sale to come up. I still need to pick up FF4, TWEWY, FFTA2, and possibly others.

it is like like 1-2 hits to me
man, i remember the days i would beat RPGs in one or two days.
it took me over a year to beat Nocturne...

and I wanna pick persona 2 back up again... started playing that shyt in August or September 2007... another year and running!!!

I'm getting OLD!!!!!

Yggdra Ubion!! hype!!

I'm pretty sure Enchanted Arms is a $16.96 clearance game at CC. I almost picked it up, but I've got plenty to play for the time being.
Usually same for me.
well, when 1-2 hits are something like 300-400dmg each to the party (those flame dogs in tower of babil), it adds up

or if they cause petrify or something
10/21/08 @ $59.99.
Thank you much.:)

My gamefly list was looking kinda sparse , so I added several 360 RPGs to my list to fill it out. Too Human , Infinite Undiscovery , Lost Oddysey and Naruto : Rise of a Ninja. Don't really have the time to play them right now as I have enough games I'm wokring on as it is , but it doesn't really matter since all of them but Naruto are Low availibility anyway.
fucking Persona 3. I remember why I put that game down for so long now. This one boss in Tartarus just won't fucking die.
They all die. Which one is it?

It's a variation of the table creatures you fight all the time, except this one has no weaknesses, and keeps smacking me with fire and fear-based stuff.

i think i know what you're talking about

that's when i quit

i was too lazy to grind my persona that was resistant to fire and had mediarama.
It's a variation of the table creatures you fight all the time, except this one has no weaknesses, and keeps smacking me with fire and fear-based stuff.
Oh. I remember that one. I had trouble with him the first time I fought him and swore off the game. But when I played P3: Fes I had no problem with him... In fact I didn't even know he was the guy I have trouble with until much later...

I think the 2 hardest bosses in that game were one of the very early bossed (like the last one in the first block) and later in the game there was a variation of those statues with large sword monsters that also had no weakness and had very high defense and attack.

I had a hard time on that one too. You need one of the Mitama persona. It is the happy yellow one I believe that looks like o~. It gets Mediarama eventually, high 30s I think. Put people who aren't weak to fire in your party and have them beat on him while you heal them almost every turn. I think I had Mitsuru on support and Aigis and Koro on attack.

Latest rumor going around is that the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories PS2 will be getting a US release for $29.99. Hope they will include KH2 Final Mix like in Japan?

i hope either is true i beat KH but never got into KH2 if they got released together i would give it another shot

It will get worse.
You will lose more characters as the game progress. That is one of it's downfall. You work so hard improving one or more characters, then bam their gone. Don't worry, you will get them back towards the end of the game. You should focus on Celilo and Gale. They stay with party for quite a long time
Kind of weird that they would wait this long to bring CoM+. Hope it isn't as hard as the GBA version.
Kingdom Heart Chains of Memories is pretty easy.
9 card- can overcome any attack
0 card- can counter any special attacks driven from bosses

I thought CoM was pretty well-paced in terms of difficulty. Only problem I ever had was like the
3rd Rikku battle or whatever
, but I eventually overcame that. Once you get Trinity or whatever, though, the game gets too easy.

Don't spoil the fun for him.

Also, I thought CoM was shit. It was a decent idea, but the GBA was not the platform for that kind of game.

I think I had a little trouble with the last boss, mainly cause near the end of the game I got so bored I blazed through it.
Don't spoil the fun for him.
It's all right because I already found out on my own.
I lost Roland and Argilla. Argilla was my fucking healer. I had to spend the next two dungeons getting Cielo with mediarama. Roland's death scene made me love him and almost decided to not get Heat back because Roland's monolog was kickass. I just got Serph back, so now I have Serph and Sera who have nearly the exact same skills and no one with fire.
I remember a lot of people said awhile back that they enjoyed the DDS story more than Nocturne. I didn't understand that until about a third of the way into DDS2. Now, I may agree with them.

I'd agree that Nocturne is more fun and more addictive, but yeah, DDS had a fantastic story. Particularly the second game, because the first game didn't have very much story at all.

I agree with most of you on DDS vs Nocturne. I had more fun with Nocturne, but DDS's story was more interesting. Only cause Nocturne didn't have much of a story to begin with. However Nocturne had better atmopshere, mood, & setting. Post-apocalyptic Tokyo being runned by demons = gold

I liked the world map, Lots of real Tokyo sites (even cooler if you've been to them.) But the cheesy character marker has to go. They've been using it in the series forever and everytime I see it I feel like I'm playing Persona 1. I know it's SMT tradition but it really adds nothing and it just looks stupid.
But the cheesy character marker has to go.
That's pretty much what I was talking about, just wasn't sure how to refer to it.

It's true. That does feel out of place. Though, I think it speaks to just how damn solid Nocturne is that the character marker is the one thing we choose to rag on.

I'm still not sure if I prefer Persona 2 EP or Nocturne... I've been considering that since I played through Nocturne in May, and I dunno... they're incredibly different games. Damn do I love the SMT franchise, though.

Did any solid info materialize on the supposed Nocturne rerelease? Like, something coming out alongside Devil Summoner Raidou 2?

Nothing more than it's being packaged with the limited edition of Devil Summoner and that it features Raidou in it.

Speaking of which was the last Devil Summoner any good? I have it, but never played it. Though I think with me beating Persona 2 and DDS1+2 so recently, I probably won't want to bother with it next. I need a break.

It was the most 5/10 game I've ever played. Nothing about it was good. But nothing about it was necessarily bad, either. It just sorta existed.

True. Not much else to hate. Still, the marker has to go. Tradition is the only aspect keeping it alive. As long as Jack Frost is in it all signs point to --> SMT.

Have any of you heard anything about ToV Limited Editions print run? I really want it, but in general I try to wait for price drops unless I think something is going to be rare and shoot up in value. I really didnt see this game being one of those that jump in value.....but my instincts have been wrong alot recently and now im hearing about it selling out places and actually being a fairly limited print.

Lets put it this way, I'm surprised to see that Nacmo even put out a limited edition ToV considering how poorly the Tales games sell in the US. So I really wouldn't be shocked to hear that it really is limited.

It's funny, I was just browsing eBay and the Persona 3 special editions have gone way down in price: I saw several sealed BIN listings in the $40-50 range. I can remember just a few months ago when it was selling for $80+ and I was thrilled to find a sealed copy for $47. I guess the release of FES really depressed the value, even considering the soundtrack and artbook.

Ya FES killed the value. It was another good example of my instincts being wrong. I waited to buy Persona 3 forever thinking it would drop.......ended up paying $60 for it.....then FES killed that! Mana Khemia, World of Warcraft Burning Crusade, Castlevnia PoR. Every LE/CE/SE recently iv bet on to go up in value has went down! Meanwhile the few that im like meh it will drop like a rock such as Bioshock have ended up shooting up.

I think the biggest problem is far too few of these actually are limited anymore. It used to be that you could buy several and ya a few would drop but enough held in value to hedge your bets......now everything drops but 1 or 2...so the chances of making the right purchase are slim.

And before anyone says thats why you just buy the games you enjoy and dont worry about the value.....the problem with that is that some of us only buy games new when we think they are going to be rare because we dont want to pay more for them later. Personally Diablo 3 and if announced Kingdom Hearts 3 would be the only day 1 purchases for me coming up.....so I hate having to fork out $70 for something just because it MIGHT be rare.

Yeah I generally wait to buy stuff until it's been out for a while and prices have gone down, but that can be tricky with these special editions. I just bought the Final Fantasy XII special edition not too long ago for around $50, which I think was the original MSRP or maybe a little less so that's cool-- it didn't plummet but it didn't go up either. On the other hand I slept on the Ar tonelico special edition with the artbook... I would like to have it, but at this point you can't get it cheaper than $100. I wish I had known to jump on that one right away.
