Man, this pretty much sums up my last night!

I did the Riddler stuff in Arkham City, but don't have any motivation to do it in Arkham City.

Too much other stuff to play on my shelf, and they made it more of a hassle since a lot of them involve figuring out how to open the cage they're in rather than just finding them like in the last game.

I also don't like the challenge maps, so I don't care about unlocking those.

Part of the problem with Arkham City vs Arkham Asylum, which I assume dmaul114 meant, is that Arkham City is truly open world kind of stuff but you need upgrades before you can go get all the trophies and such. In the first game, the ones you needed late game equipment for or backtracking were really pretty minimal if you were paying attention. In Arkham City, it's overwhelming... they're all over, you need upgrades, you have to mark them on your map, etc. I did them all I think, though.

:checks ps3t:

Yeah, I'm only missing freeflow 2.0, the combat challenge/medal trophies, and NG+.

The big plus for me, though, was that actually getting to those places was much more enjoyable in City - gliding across an open city beat the hell out of running and then loading screen and then running and then loading screen and then running.

EDIT: Also, what's the "1114" part of "dmaul1114" about, anyway?

Probably his birthday or something, dude.

The loading issue I can understand -- I only think it got to me if I had to do something like go back to the initial area down the elevator or something because I forgot one of the more obvious ones. Trying to pin down the missing riddles and such in Arkham City was much harder and could be tedious and frustrating. The worst though, were those fucking AR challenges. Thank god for the Batman Beyond costume.
Depends.
Do you like challenge maps and the like?
Do you enjoy the challenges themselves, like finding the answers, etc?

I plan on eventually trying to platinum the game, I think, so it was on my list to do. I loved doing all the riddler stuff in Arkham Asylum anyway, so while some of it was aggravating, I still enjoyed it.

Can I recommend you do it if you hate the riddler challenges and stuff? Probably not, not unless you're an achievement/trophy whore or want the extra stuff unlocked.
I don't mind them too much. The riddles are significantly more difficult because it feels like the text on screen doesn't show up when you are anywhere near the actual solution. After getting all the gadgets, getting the trophies isn't that bad. I actually prefer doing the challenges, but I'd like to unlock them all first.

And yes, the AR challenges are obnoxiously difficult when batman has a cape.

If he's ever kidnapped by The Riddler, it may be vital information.

Just another reason Batman Beyond costume is da bes mang.

The catwoman ones really annoyed me because she's not as mobile or equipped as batman is, but then again some of the batman ones were aggravating too -- there's a decent amount of skill required for some of them.

Yeah, more or less. It's just overwhelming and I'm not big on collect-a-thon stuff. Especially when I have a backlog to get through.

Plus, even when you have all the upgrades, it's not always obvious what you need to do to open a cage to get a Riddler trophy, and I'm not much for that kind of puzzle solving stuff either.

Loved the game though. Just wasn't compelled to do the Riddler stuff or the save the political prisoner side quest as that stuff just isn't fun to me and I don't care much about trophies/achievements.

Especially trophies, achievements are a tad more addictive with the number attached and gamer score prominently displayed etc.

Four years ago I would have been into this, during that week I was into Brokencyde.

It's nice to know that you think of me though.

Your avatar catches my eye all the time, I love that pink hair.

Also, what ever happened to us hanging out? I still leave my offer to go see a movie open, we could see Chronicle, a bunch of people I know that have seen it have been saying good things.

They don't look like they are fighting at all.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

People say good things cuz it's a good movie cuz I've seen it.

But yeah, we should definitely do something or another. School has been pretty busy, we I should have a couple of weeks where things kind of die down, probably right after midterms.

Isn't that what professional boxing is?

Doh, Amazon shipped me Uncharted Vita already.

They aren't slated to ship the actual system for another week or two. #-o

fuck of a birthdate, panzer.

Congratulations on catching up to me in age. As someone with a month and a half head-start on ya: nothing changes.

EDIT: Aside, of course, from the overwhelming urge to get on skype and play Tribes Ascend. It's not terribly hardware intensive.

Happy birthday Panzer! (You actually share a birthday with one of my friends from work.) Congrats on entering the age block where you can't remember what age you are (I seriously forget at times and have to think about how old I'll be at my next birthday, haha).
22 today!

not hyped about being older than 21 though :oldman:
Dude, I forgot how old I turn this month.

That's weird, I've seen it too. Were you there?
