Ghost Recon: AW Reviews & Discussion
Still trying to figure out the fucking controls to the gunner's camera gun... You could make it look around corners and over walls on Ghost Recon 2; can it even be done on Advance Warfighter?

Anyone?
Pretty sure you lean out with the gun and go into scope to use the camera, not positive though.

Anyone figure out the Falcon achievement? Thats shoot down 100 helicopters in multiplayer.

However, helicopters only come out in the hamburger hill mode, to help the team who controls the hill.

Soooo does helicopter = helicopters on hamburger hill.....or does it mean the drones in multiplayer?

I finally cracked the game open....I've progressed on 5 missions I believe in Campaign (including training). This game is fun and challenging....I have to think about what to do rather than go in gunning. fun game....

Played LIVE a bit, but I sucked...

i love the first person mode, you see so much, REALLY helpful, and I see myself doing better without the gun visible. The ovr the shoulder blocks your entire left view when you go into precise aiming mode. That'll fuck you over in multiplayer badly. I prefer first person...I don't see what the big deal is of not seeing your gun graphics...
Anyone else getting "COULD NOT CONNECT TO SERVICE" message when trying to join friends online?
I have had that problem multiple times. A friend was hosting his own custom game and I wouldn't get it. After a while of trying, it will eventually let you in. What frustrated me the most is on some of the levels with alot of details it will start kicking people out. I must have been dropped from the nighttime rain level (forgot the true name) about 10-15 times now. My friends and I have decided not to play that one as much anymore because of all the drops.
I know Ghost Recon purests love the fps view... but, by God; that shit sucks. It sucked in the first game, and still sucks. Over-the-shoulder is Ubisoft's default choice... and I think they know what they're doing.

I can't answer your question, though. I didn't think you could on this'n.
my default view was the 1st person view, when I was playing last night was the first time I realized there was an over teh shoulder view. I got used to it and like it more now.

how can you just realize theres an over the shoulder view? Thats the default, did you not do the training
I saw a screen shot somewhere that showed the game running in FPS mode and it had the gun model. When I tried switching to FPS mode in the game, I was disappointed that it was taken out. Though all GR games were like this, so it's not like we're missing much (if you're a veteran of the series).
cold be the pc version also .
How does this game look on a non-HDTV? somewhere i saw that the menus weren't readable and it just looked bad.

thanks.
Played it at my friends on a nonhd, perfectly readable, nice graphics, just its letterbox, which isnt that bad.

hows multiplayers health? I played splitscreen, and it was basically 1 hit kills at close range, 2 from long. Seemed really stupid.

waht kind of guns were you guys using???

what are the special like bonuses for using a certain gun on a certain class. I know the grenadiers get more ammo on the grenadier guns, but what about the others?

I think it looks amazing without hd aswell. Some things aren't readable, and others are. It's easy to figure out what things are though in my opinion.

Yup, that's how it works multi. Most of the time it comes down to who sees who first. If someone comes up behind you there is no way of surviving the fight unless they miss you with a whole clip. The way to win is just camp in a corner and wait for people to come by.

It's just the class you use that gives the bonus regardless of the gun you choose. Don't know about the others since I stick w/ Rifleman, but accuracy receives a boost when you're prone and moving.

well what are the other bonuses then?

man the browser really sucks. By the time you join a lot of matches they've aklready started because the damn game finder takes forever.

Yuck, Ill play it again later today to check it out and see if its really that bad.
How about compairing it to RS3:BA?

-All levels: Y, Right Shoulder Button, Y, Right Shoulder Button, X
-Scott Mitchell Invincibility: Y, Y, X, Right Shoulder Button, X, Left Shoulder Button
-Ghost Team Invincibility: X, X, Y, Right Shoulder Button, Y, Left Shoulder Button
-Unlimited Ammo: Right Shoulder Button, Right Shoulder Button, Left Shoulder Button, X, Left Shoulder Button, Y
Restore to 100% Health: Left Shoulder Button, Left Shoulder Button, Right Shoulder Button, X, Right Shoulder Button, Y

You enter them at the pause screen during the mission, and need to hold the Left Trigger + Right Trigger + Back button while you enter them.

And suprisingly, you can still earn achievements with cheats on

where did these come from?

Well then, that makes the mission achievements worthless, especially the hard more ones.

...thennn again achievements have been worthless from the begining ;)
where did these come from?
:)

My Ghost Recon finally froze. It got choppier and choppier until it just.. froze. In the middle of the huge mission, too. So much for protecting the Mexican president.
how can you just realize theres an over the shoulder view? Thats the default, did you not do the training
Like I said my DEFAULT was the 1st person. When I first started the game it was in 1st person view.

Oh, and it's a bitch to enter those codes - often times, they won't work. Just unpause the game, pause it, and try again. You'll hear a sound if it works.

Sort of off topic, but does offline co-op stick you in first person like it did in GR2? I can't stand that floaty feeling of the gunless first person view, but would still like to play this thing in offline co-op once in a while...

(I'd figure this out myself, but my 360 is still in the mail)
:/

Are you going to exchange the game?
No. Why would I? Nothing to do with the disc itself. I've played many, many hours of multiplayer and it was fine. The two times it froze, there was a LOT of shit going on, explosions, shooting, the works.. frame rate slowed.. game crapped out. No biggie. Ghost Recon 2, IIRC, had a bug like this.

Anyone remember that one?

Yes it does stick you in 1st person mode and its actually not bad, you get used to it. I've been playing the co-op maps with my sis for a couple days and its pretty damn good and challenging.
Third mission, embassy... I won't spoil it, but was I the only one?
Oh my god. That's where my game froze! I restarted it just now, and it froze after he said he was on the phone, so I was waiting for that line.. then.. daaaaaaaamn!!!!!!! I think I had a mild heart attack. That was frickin' amazing. I love it.

That was the first time I actually shouted a profanity when it happened.

I was about to be surprised, but remembered seeing some footage (think it was e3) that showed it, and I matched the two, then it happened.
After that, with the endless flood of enemies, that was very annoying, untill several trial and error strats.
That was the first time I actually shouted a profanity when it happened.
It's one of the first few times i've felt emotion towards a single player game other than fun/hate. I just kinda stopped for a second, let out an "ohhh... shit!" and ran towards the place

/edit: I also remember the thing from E3, but it looked like a different building and it was from a different angle.

I was running towards the building, but that looks like they were coming in from the side

Not sure what mission I'm on, but I just stormed that castle or whatever....damn fun single player, multiplayer is good, only played a little bit.

I just started playing this online saturday and man it is like crack. I mostly played the campaign missions over and over. It is a lot of fun playing with that many people trying to eliminate everyone and complete the objectives.

PSSSIBLE SPOILER!!!

That embassy level you guys are talking about did make me jump a little and say holy #$%@. That level gets really immersive at the end their when your being overwhelmed by enemies and the music starts playing, incredible.

There's one automatic gun that shoots grenades.. dunno what it is, holds 30/500.. anyway, if you get that, switch it to shoot grenades, then put on the infinite ammo code, you can pretty much have an automatic grenade launcher.. fires as fast as you can shoot. Lots of explosions :D

I got this game a few days ago. I HATED the other Ghost Recon games, but the hype and reviews for this one made me go grab it, since I was in dire need of a killer 360 game. Well I am SO glad I picked this game up. This is a huge step up from the other GR games. This game is amazing, and I've only beaten the first two SP levels. I'm not real good at it, but I have a blast.

I've tried getting into a few MP campaign games, but I haven't been able to play yet, I'll try more tommorow. What a bad ass game!
It's an A4 rifle, and inplace of the handgun slot you'll see the grenade launcher. I love using that thing in Team Elimination.
No. The grenade launcher was a secondary ammo for the gun. I still had a handgun as well.
Third mission, embassy... I won't spoil it, but was I the only one?
Man same crap happened to me but this time the whole saved game was corrupted. I had to delete the save and start from scratch. And on my second play through the end of the stage everything was choppy really bad slow down . Get this when I am gettin on the helicopter and it becomes a cinema I get shot and killed when I cant control the character.

Me and my friend have been playing co-op since the game came out, and now today it says "cannot connect to server" when we send eachother invites. Does anyone know what could be causing this? We didn't change anything.

That's the crap I've been getting. Appearently you have to change your NAT settings from Moderate or Strict to Open or get a compatible router. They are listed on xbox.com
