thats a pretty bold statement how are those guys track record when it comes to knowing if a game is good or not? do they tend to stick to the facts or do they embelish any or do the fanboy thing? damn i just need to know more!!!!!
 
Am I the only one who's having problems getting the code to work? I opened up my brand new copy from Amazon, scratched the code, and it keeps saying "invalid or expired". Mebbe it's a network issue, and I should just try again later. Really wanted to try out the demo :(

make sure your enot getting any of the numbers/letters mixed up. ive had issues with codes in the past where one thing looked like another and after i tried it out diff ways it finally worked. if after that it still doesnt work id contact amazon about it.

Yeah dude, my code was so hard to read it took me 6 or 7 tries to get it right. Try wiping the black stuff off with water and just keep punching it in to the best of your ability.
 
Thoroughly annoyed at this code issue. BB has a deal, get $10 off of God of War III with a preorder and the purchase of God Of War: Collection. So I ended up with two codes - one from the Collection and one inside the preorder box, and neither work! I keep trying different permutations (Is that a G or a 6? A 7 or a T? Argh!) If I can get one to work I'll post the other here for some brave soul to try.

:lol: I did my deal through Amazon; I received a $20 Amazon PSN credit with the GOW collection, GOWIII for $89.99 and my demo code was e-mailed to me so it was easy to read;).

BB deals usually end up not being deals so I don't go there anymore :cool:. I posted my extra code in my list if anyone wants it.

Try again later. It wouldn't accept my code a couple days ago. This morning, I entered it again, to the letter the same as before, and it went fine. IDK what was up with that, maybe crap internet connection at the time or a network issue, but it worked this morning.

I have a weird question. I preordered the game from Gamestop for a Demo code. I realized it came with a free Phantom of Chaos skin too- so I was excited. The demo code worked flawlessly- and downloaded. I get an error for the Phantom of Chaos skin code though. Can the Phantom of Chaos skin be downloaded yet? If so, what can I do about this? Call Sony?

The Phantom of Chaos skin can not be downloaded till GOW3 comes out.
 
Just tried the demo and..... WOW!

I'm really surprised at how fun a hack n slash, button mashing game could be. I'm for sure getting this.

Question about the digital music the game comes with. Would you be able to transfer it off the PS3? So you could add it to a MP3 player or burn it to a disc? Or would i have to listen to it through the PS3 only?

Also the Ultimate edition is still 90 on amazon, im thinking of pre ordering it. Anyone know when this sale ends? Also is there any better offers on the ultimate edition? It looks like all the pre order bonuses are just alternate attires you can unlock within the game, so that doesnt matter to me. Any other bonuses?

I don't think the music files can be easily transferred to your iPods, but I'm sure they works on the PSP with the same PSN activated account. I'm in for the Pandora box and the physical art book. The music and skin are really crappy part of the UE.

Oh i see, i also pre ordered the ultimate edition last night. I mainly want the pandora's box, combat arena with 7 challenges, and the documentary. But visiting the God of war 3 site made me think i might actually like listening to the music it comes with.

My last few limited editions were VERY disappointing. They just don't make them like they use to.

Its a "limited" edition just like every other "limited edition". ;) Only rare niche games that get limited editions are limited ala Demon's Souls.

Also the EU Ultimate Edition has GOW collection while the NA one doesnt due to the fact the game came out here..so all is the same for both regions.

The music will 100% be MP3 files meaning any player will play them being your PC/IPOD/PSP/PS3 etc. All they are giving you is a voucher to DL the music tracks. Question is from PSN or website. Im leaning towards a website that you access through your PC ala Twisted Metal Head On voucher code for PS2 back in the day. All it was, it was a code to enter on the main site that allowed you to download the music online. Even if its on PSN, they will be MP3s.

This demo was the shit! Amazing Graphic, awesome combo system and the finishers are massively brutal!!! BRUTAL!!!!!! Ripping that eye ball out of that ogre's head, and then tearing that guys head off......OMG!

The only thing I didn't like was that damn "Star Wars Millienium Falcon flying through the rafters" shit at the end.....kinda wonky.

So that means when i get my UE and downloaded the MP3 files, i can e-mail you one of them and you can listen to it? I doubt it's that simple, but hey, i'm okay with that :)

That's why I won't post my two demo codes I have(one from GOW III pre-order from GS, the other from the GOW Collection)openly in the thread(s) for this game since there's too many ungrateful lurkers who will use the fuckin' codes but not even say thank you for it.

I'm gonna probably go into my friends list on PSN and/or my list of completed trades/deals on CAG and give one code away to each to whoever wants one.

In other words, this means don't go PMing me begging for a code from this thread cuz you're most likely not gonna get one.
 
Well, it's official. Thanks to playing the God of War collection, I am now excited for GOW 3. Just pre-ordered the 89$ UE from good 'ol Amazon. Hope it goes even lower in price ;)

Considering canceling my FFXIII pre-order...
 
If the Ultimate Edition with the replica of Pandora's Box included physical CD's and DVD's for the music and other extras then I'd pre-order that at GS with some of my $190 in credit in a second, but fuck that digital download shit.

If I'm paying $30 extra for music and other stuff, I better be getting a real CD or DVD with it on there and not just some stupid code.
 
Anyone have an idea as to the quality of artbooks you get in special editions? Are they generally really nice, or on stock paper and just throw-away content?

i agree with this guy. i want the ue of gow3 but id suggest getting it eslewhere every time ive bought something from them it took a long time to get to me. they have great deals but dont expect your stuff to arrive anytime soon.

The artbook that came with my GTA IV Special Edition was a hardcover with embossed lettering on it and a better grade paper in it and the Rise Of The Argonauts pre-order artbook(more like a f'n pamphlet it was so tiny) was also a hardcover book with embossed lettering on it but it was tiny as hell as mentioned prior.

Other than those two, I can't really say I've ever looked into an artbook(pre-order or otherwise) since I've almost always felt like the LE/SE/CE versions of games were useless unless the items inside went up in value astronomically.

Usually the artbooks in the CE/SE/LE versions of games are tiny, but most of them are hardcover with some glossy lettering on the front cover and a better, glossy grade paper for the pages.

I picked up a Rise Of The Argonauts one for throwing down a pre-order sometime late last year and I got one with my GTA IV Special Edition.

All in all, they're really nothing special and unless all of the extras with a SE/CD/LE are all physical media or items, then it's a total waste of the extra $20-30 or whatever the super duper special limited edition costs over the game only version.
 
I didn't even notice that the current Amazon pre-order price is $89.99. Had to email CS to get them to update my order.

The artbook is probably about the size of the GTAIV one I have, though I may be wrong on that. Hopefully I am, since the one from GTA IV is kinda tiny, but the other extra stuff in that special edition made up for it(keychain, dufflebag, music cd(actual CD), lockbox(with keys) and the artbook).
