GOG Deals Thread

I've got a baaaaad feeling I'm going to be very late. I will probably set the alarm to wake me up every hour once we hit another slow sale.

I skipped Sacred Gold. I already have Sacred Gold 2, and imagine it would be hard to go back.

Random thoughts:

Painkillers make this sale more digestible.

Surgery is less painful than watching Hotline Miami sell out.

I filled my yearly posting quota in the span of 72 hours, and this sale's setup still sucks.

I'm going back to sleep; maybe when I wake it'll all be over...

Ultima in general is supposed to be amazing and there's at least 3 more parts to it counting the free ones so for a buck 50 you might as well jump in and try it!

Anyone having NON-buyer's remorse? I really wish I'd grabbed The Real Texas while I had a chance it seems pretty cute.

This stuff is selling so slowly that I keep refreshing the page every half hour or so to make sure that the page hasn't stopped updating.

Okay, yeah. I'll go ahead and try it.

As for remorse. I really should have gotten Baulder's Gate 2 but skipped it because I didn't have the original and have no faith that I'd have been able to nab it later. I also should have grabbed System Shock 2, but didn't cause I'm a moron. Was also eyeballing Syberia, but passed. And then there are the ones I just missed.

Uncertain.

A part of me was thinking of buying these, but I didn't:

1. Riddick: Dark Athena -> I want it specifically from GOG b/c I wanted it DRM-FREE, even though I own a Retail-copy w/ Tages already installed and activated. Didn't wanna get double-dipped on. :(

2. Ultima Underworld 1 + 2 -> I do want the entire Ultima collection (except anything Ultima Online related) - but, I ain't sure when the hell I'm gonna ever play those! Games that I often get really cheap and/or are old, they get tossed in my backlog - and often, I just don't touch them or don't do much with them; see Anachronox, Septerra Core, and Omikron. :(

3. Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete -> would've bought it for MoW since I'm only missing that expansion and and so I have this game completely DRM-FREE, but I missed out when it went on sale EVERY time. :(

I think I need to get some sleep.

If Neverwinter Nights comes up again before I post here again, I'd appreciate someone picking up a copy for me.

I REALLY regret not getting Baldur's Gate 2 when I had the chance. It was in my cart and everything, but I decided not to. Then I saw all the accolades. Same thing happened with Neverwinter Nights Diamond, Baldur's Gate 1, and Planescape Torment, but at least it's not too late to still get those. I'm just kicking myself for not getting those last 3, because now I'm staying up late trying to catch them.

I have NWN1 + SOU + HOTU; but I'm missing some of the Premium Packs.

I'm missing:

Kingmaker Pack (that comes w/ NWN: Diamond; the Kingmaker Pack comes w/ first three DLC's of Kingmaker, Shadowguard, Witch's Wake Remastered);

and the Premium Packs released after it (Pirates of the Sword Coast, Infinite Dungeons, & Wyvern Crown of Cormyr - which never got a DLC Pack)

If NWN1: Complete came w/ ALL of the Premium Packs, I'd probably be all over this.

About BG1+2 - I have BG2 + TOB from Retail. Don't need 'em.

BG1 - I'm missing Tales of the Sword Coast.

For those who have BG1 + TOTSW / BG1: Complete - is it worth getting BG1: Complete for just Tales of the Sword Coast?

How's Tales of the Sword Coast?

Only problem I see - when the hell am I gonna want to do the entire BG1 long haul again? The game's a time-sink.

Have PST from Retail. Don't need it again. It's installed here, runs fine, and everything.

I didn't realize the first NWN had so much extra stuff and that the GOG version didn't come with all of it. I suppose if it did GOG would call it the Complete edition instead of the Diamond edition.

Bingo! NWN1: Diamond Edition is technically NOT Complete, since it's missing the last 3 Premium Packs.

We can blame Atari and BioWare, namely.

After Kingmaker Pack didn't sell that great at Retail, they both never went ahead and ever agreed to sell a DLC Pack w/ the rest of the stuff. I don't know the reasons why - major "WTH?"

The main reason to buy Kingmaker Pack from Retail at that time was the DLC's when bought from online via BioWare's site at that time actually had Online Auth required for every time you began one of those actual DLC's and when loading a saved game using one of those DLC's! (Ewww!) The disc version DID NOT have that online auth at all for them packs.

I don't know if they ever deactivated that DRM garbage for those who bought them directly from BioWare's website for download.

Also, who knows how much BioWare was making from the Premium DLC's directly via their website for download - that surely set the stage for those crappy BioWare DLC/BioWare Points & tactics they did w/ EA for ME2 + ME3 + DA2; all which never got Complete Edition re-releases.

EDIT:

Oh, the reasons why we never saw last 3 NWN1 DLC's boxed at retail and why they were stopped being sold:

http://www.gog.com/forum/neverwinter_nights_series/premium_modules/post23

Atari forced BioWare to stop selling Premium Mods, since ONLY Atari has the rights entirely for selling & authorizing D&D video-game products.

Also, Atari got into a court-battle w/ Hasbro (D&D license Owner) over this mess.

Oh, we'll so screwed when Cognition shows up again. :whistle2:X

I bet it'll be mad slow when that shows up.

Lords Of Midnight was free. Didn't see how many were available though. I'd guess 2

Resonance $2.49 (600)
