Redemption or Bloodlines?

While Redemption was enjoyable, Bloodlines is the best game ever made as far as I'm concerned. I've played through that game so many times and it amazes me to see people still putting out mods for it, as well as unofficial patches. It's just a shame Troika went under right after it came out.

Oh dear...

If you're anything like her, then I'm not sure I even want be living in the same city as you, let alone family.

If I lie to you and tell you that she's a "weeaboo" (as I believe they're called), will that scare you off?

Please say yes... PLEASE!
Perfect. You live in my area. And I can tutor her through her high school Japanese (I hope she's going to one of the high schools in the area that teaches Japanese.).

@Idiot, I believe you mean "ani" (way to refer to one's own older brother)... I assume you're setting up some verboten liebe forbidden love fantasy here.

If that's your understanding of the different ways of saying "older brother" in Japanese, I don't think you're qualified to be tutoring anybody.

間違ってるんじゃない?w

This is why nobody asks you to be their wingman.

Haha, thanks for the offer Ashes, but her mother taught all the kids BOTH Japanese and Korean, as well as a bit of Mandarin, from the time they were about 3 years old. So, all of them are fluent in those languages, as well as about 4-7 others (we're a family of polyglots, due to the missus' job with the, ummm, let's just leave it at "government".) However, the *only* sad thing is even though my whole family speaks perfect Japanese, my knowledge of it, however, is somewhat lacking...

Also, @Idiotekque, as you may have noticed by the strikethrough'd clause before the "weeaboo" statement, my youngest (and well, the whole family) is not in any way, shape, or form a fan of Japanese "pop culture"; meaning anime, manga, music, or the like... However, we ALL love Cowboy Bebop and Akira, which, in my opinion, are ones that everygeek can like (compound word intended), so that doesn't really count. :p

EDIT: @Asheskitty (don't answer this is you don't feel comfortable doing so) but are you out of university, or, if not, which one are you going to? Because the only university that's in the "heart" of Silicon Valley is Stanford (which, if you're there, congrats!), as the rest are more on the fringes of the Bay Area. Actually, wait, even Stanford is a bit on the outskirts... Hmm, I never really realized it before, but it's a bit strange that no universities are "smack dab" in the middle of SV (I guess all the tech giants take up too much space for a place of higher education).

I think this was talkinrock's plan all along, to brag about his daughters and to make us feel inferior to them. 7-10 languages wat.
*You found me out, mate* haha.

Well, to be honest, my kids aren't geniuses (by any definition of the word), but like their daddy, they love to learn and absorb knowledge, and on top of that, at least 1 of the 4 inherited my photographic memory. But don't worry @Spoderman, they're not "prodigies" in any way at all; they just had parents who taught them to love information and knowledge (Also, my wife's parents raised her in the typical Asian "Tiger Mom-style", so she *might* have just slightly paid that forward towards our children a bit).

Oh, and due to the fact that she and her older sister are both MAJOR fans of the World of Darkness pen and paper series (especially VtM), she has played both of the video games.

Last night, however, she was playing Bloodlines... and, if her mad, incoherent laughter is any sign, I'm guessing she was playing as a Malkavian.

Also, she's been *obsessed* with the VtM pen and paper series since she was, oh I don't know, about 10 or so, and we made the mistake of letting her play Bloodlines when she was 11. So, basically, not only did that game teach her FAR MORE than the birds and the bees, but she has this *habit* of joking around at the dinner table (and other *suitable* places) with her version of Malkavian psychobabble.

So yeah, there's that...

There is no supporting evidence to suggest eidetic memory is a real thing.

Well I never said anything about virtual sex. Do they play Second Life?
No, thank god; I only taught my kids to play *good* games... Not "moneypits that allow you to escape to a male-dominated alternate reality" a dream within a dream...

I can't stand most anime and your typical Japanese pop culture, tbh. My strongest fascination with the weeaboo culture probably resides the the Japanese' diverse and uninhibited sexual tastes. I'm sure little Talkinrock-ette feels the same. Big fan of the Japanese melodeath scene as well.

Cowboy Bebop is great, of course. I also used to be really into the Dot Hack series, as well as your classics like DBZ and Pokemon (though I only watched the first season or two).

You have to realize you're just... peddling her at this point.

So here's the story:

I just read the edited title, and fell on the floor in a fit of laughter...

Then, *You-Know-Who* walked into the room, asking why I was going hysterical, read the title, and said "You are officially the worst parent ever".

So, I talked to her for a minute after that, and apparently and she's been reading this thread for about 4 months now (with no CAG account, mind you), and had no clue what her daddy's username was until she saw it on my monitor just now.

Ever seen this band? I love the crazy shit that goes on in Japan too.

I am also willing to take talkinrock's daughter.

Oh, dear me...

Should I be *slightly* worried that some the majority of you guys posting in this thread quite possibly have a child sex offender record?

Or am I just being too paranoid?

One of my all-time favorite songs (and albums)...   :D/

You only have a record if you get caught. :whistle2:$

I think, sometimes you hear what you wanna hear. It wouldn't be gay to put a wig on a man and pretend they're a woman.

How could that be gay if you're pretending they're a woman?

Not that I did it.
Oh, Jermaine, you silly Kiwi, you...

You can reteach me Japanese. I took it in middle and high school. The only thing I remember is the instructor calling me a heathen. Not sure what that was about. It got me attention from the girls in class, so I didn't mind.

*Release Special*

Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians - $3.99 (60% off)

I know we don't usually post new release discounts, but considering the discount on this one, I think it's probably worthy of a post (of course, this will have no significance to you if you already picked this up in the Humble Bundle 11, back in February...)

I'd just like to say that I'm glad this is all going on in a thread that I don't give a crap about for a store I have no intention to buy from.

Carry on.

The only real difference between this thread and the Steam/Amazon/Bundle threads are the deals that get buried amongst the crap.

I'm really glad that you took the time to post in the thread for a store you don't give a crap about and don't intend to buy from.
