I only got for FREEBIES today from GOG:

Torchlight 1 (which wound up a gift - already had it for FREE from GOG before);

and Still Life 2.

I missed out on Omerta.

Steam version of Omerta is better, apparently the GOG version is missing a crucial patch.

I think Fox got Omerta for free on GOG a while ago. Maybe he got an extra gift copy from the current promo?

Don't spread lies. I got it on Steam a while ago. This version comes with 4 DLC though.

I pretty much figured they'd do at least one during the hours that the country of their arch nemesis is sleeping. Good thing is that it was a game that's no great shakes that's been on sale a kajillion times and most of us already own.

I suppose that was their attempt at irony too by picking Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

Anyway, GOG are 'murican hating assholes. Back to the Steam sale. At least they give me enough time to be disappointed and decide not to buy.

I tried to stay up for Alan Wake, but I was too tired.. had to sleep. They ran the freebie at around 6 am for me. Seriously, wtf.

Not much of a loss since I have it on Steam, but c'mon. fuck you GOG.
 
I actually woke up around 5:30 because of a leg cramp. While I was up, I took a peek at GOG and saw American Nightmare was coming up. I figured it would be around for several hours (like the others) and so I went back to bed. When I woke up for real at 7, it was gone.

No big loss though. I'm not sure if I'd even have grabbed it if I had the chance. I never would've grabbed the main game to go with it and it would have looked weird on my shelf all by itself. Besides, i already own the DRM-Free version of the games on Humble.

I'm just glad it wasn't something that I would have cared about, like Banished.

No it's regional. He doesn't live in the US. People in the US pay more for it than other areas, even though they always talk about one world, one price. GOG hates America.

Here's more info on the glitch that someone posted on GOG.


The Omerta from the giveaway was the 4 DLC version, not the Gold version. The 4 DLC version has a game breaking bug. You can't finish the campaign. Kalypso has a fix for it since December last year. They have updated the Steam version, not the GOG.com version.
The Japanese Incentive DLC for this version works fine. That campaign can be finished. The JI DLC is part of the flash sales.

I would bet that the reason they gave away that version is because it's broken and Kalypso has no plans to send the patch.

I too woke up at 5:30 because if your leg cramp, took a peek at GOG and stayed awake until AN was available for free. I have no idea why though because I already have it on Steam.

I in no way meant to imply that I am The End's wife. We probably don't even live in the same state and might even be in a different time zone. I am convinced that it was his leg cramp that woke me up though. I don't know what else it could have been.

So the freebie I'm interested in is broke and, I now need to exercise zeal in playfiring up a working copy.

Also glad I didn't waste any effort for the anal wake freebie.

That's what VPNs are for, mate (or just changing your GOG region settings, if that works). :whistle2:

So... has anybody played King's Bounty: The Legend? Looks kinda interesting but I know nothing about it, and tend to not be a fan of CRPGs.

Plenty of people. I played quite a bit and mean to get back to it. It's very well done. Idiotekque has put quite a bit more time into it, I think.

 
So I've played about 15 minutes of omikron. So far I've seen mages, strippers, been attacked by a monster that tried to suck my soul, had a robot tell my I've been the victim of a violent attack and need to go lie down, entered someone else's body and heard a david bowie song. So yeah this game seems awesome so far. If you play to buy this game know that if you have a xbox controller plugged in to your pc your character will continuously walk forward so I recommend playing with a plug and play controller or keyboard. Also I recommend reading the manual.
