well I was looking forward to picking up Bulletstorm or Need for Speed but both have went from $20 to $35-$40. Oh well...

Ended up getting Bulletstorm,Medal Of Honor. Then I ordered Dead Space 2,Sin and Punishment.

I'm sorry everyone. Our prices change all the time but our pricing is not related to the promotions. Prices change every day but you should see as many price drops as price hikes. But today's pricing is different; it is an error. Here is what we posted on FaceBook:

I'm not quite sure I believe this "site error." Its not really a grand conspiracy that prices go up before a sale, usually its not THIS much higher...

Between this and the grand 100,000 likes free shipping sale, i really feel like theres some nefarious forces at work for you guys (not you in particular CAG rep, youre just the messenger)

And what about the prices on Amazon still being low, then quadrupling after I mentioned it here?

Donkey Kong Country is still at 32.79 used on Amazon and 44.99 on your site. Why didn't that price go up as well? Or will it now that I've mentioned it?

I'm sure software updates that... I can't imagine someone sitting there updating Amazon prices for 10,000 items manually, every day...
 
So since there are price errors will they be refunding (or canceling the orders) of customers who bought things? That's exactly what overstock.com did yesterday, and while these are different companies the situations are the same.

I have never purchased anything from Hastings, but signed up for a coupon and was planning on buying LFD2, the price was $18 yesterday and now is $27, lol. Out of curiosity, will these 40% off coupons before for entire orders or for a single game?

Why would they refund anyone who bought anything knowing fully well what the price was? It's not like the person realizes it was an incorrect price hike and said "Oh well might as well still get my order in they'll correct it after". No, they bought whatever they bought thinking it was an acceptable price. Now if anyone really did think that they're quite stupid, but still the point stands. Would it be nice if they did? Sure, but they're under no obligation to do so.

im thankful for the postponement. last i checked, Shadows of the Damned was still OOS and thats what i wanted to get ...

also a portion of my order from last weekend still hasn't shipped. it hasn't been canceled for being OOS either. hopefully they're just being slow because now the game says it's out of stock
 
Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Collection came in today. The case and disc are in pretty decent quality, but there's no manual. Still got a really good deal on it.
 
Well this should only stoked the fire of GoHastings.com price fixing. I will say this though...we should get lower prices in the end so I am all on board for that.
 
My Deathsmiles came in last week. It came complete and I was very surprised to open it up and find the soundtrack in there as well :) Both in mint condition.

This happens to nearly every rep we get. They come to CAG with good intentions and to try and help the community and most CAGs bitch and moan about things that's beyond the reps controls. No, they're not going to give us 50% off a brand new game (or whatever ridiculous request we have) just because we ask but it is nice to someone around to help us with technical and order issues.

Please ignore the assholes. Many CAGs, including myself, think Gohastings is fucking awesome and if there was a location near me, I'd gladly give you guys my business.

Can we have a rule where it says users who unnecessarily abuse or attack reps get a warning of some type?
 
A deal is a deal. You missed it, tough luck. A sale can happen in a matter of hours. I missed the 40% deal, I'm not complaining.

I wish/hope I can contact this rep when I had problems in-store. I've had so many problems over the years with them not honoring advertised sales, signs, promo's, etc...I have gone as far as to contact corporate a few times, and never got anything but a form letter telling me to call in to the generic 1-800 about the problem. The last confrontation I had in-store was just a few weeks ago; long story short, I had enough, and decided that I would file a complaint with the BBB: come to find out, my local store is not even BBB-accredited, and had an F rating from them!

If we could have a 'Josh(SHC-Gamer)' here online for Hastings' stores, that would help me immensely. I know it's not a super-huge chain, so a lot of you guys just have experience with their website, but it's a pretty neat chain of stores. Either way, it's good to know someone from the company is here, and trying to offer answers.

You do know that you could've picked up Bulletstorm for $16 plus tax with free shipping from EA directly a bit earlier this week, right? I just got in my copy of BS yesterday(in a way oversized box filled with air pillows:lol:) and it was even the LE.;)
 
Only game I want is MLB 11. Bought it used around launch, sold it when my PS3 yloded. Bought PS3 during amazon $200 lightning deal. MLB 11 in cart hoping for around $33 used when they fix prices since the previously viewed is around $33.

Yup and Need for speed will be on sale tomorrow at 6pm.
 
I buy alot of graphic novels from gohastings and their price is amazing and I can't complain about anything. I can confirm the price error alot of the used graphic novel prices like tripled, and since than alot have come back down. Just gives us all al ittle more time to decide on our 40% off game.
 
Oh so that's what happened... I was shocked at the prices yesterday, my first impression was that it's trying to markup the price for the 40% facebook promotion. I doubt I'll get the coupon code anyway, I signed up three days ago.

That's depressing I assumed 16 was a great deal for it even used. Only thing I didn't get was the online pass. You can still play it online, but the online pass has extra maps.

I was mostly poking fun at the double standards that companies have in their policies. If a customer buys something during a price error in their favor the company doesn't have to honor it. Yet if a customer buys something during a price error that is in the company's favor, the company just keeps the extra money? How is that okay?

Hastings is admitting that their prices are incorrectly inflated. Regardless, I'm sure there are people who will buy games from them during these inflated prices. Why should Hastings (or any company) not do the honest thing and say "hey, our prices were messed up. The item you purchased is actually significantly cheaper, so here's a refund"?

To the Gohastings rep, I got sent the HD-DVD version instead of the Blu Ray version of a movie I ordered. I was supposed to ship it back for a refund but I'm too lazy so I guess it worked out well for you guys.

I guess that's basically all I have to say lol sorry...they wanted it sent back within 5 days though which seems a little quick. I don't know if you guys have a return policy or what it is but 5 days seemed pretty short to me. They did email me a prepaid shipping label though so that's good.

dont let online retailers pull this. I got sent someone else's order instead of mine. made a fit via email, they sent me my actual order or at least the same item I ordered. Gave me a usps shipping label and then I sent the wrong item back once I got the right one.
