Grand Theft Auto V - 11/14 New trailer released! We're bouncin' now!

Has it been said when the FREE DLC is coming out?

Also if anyone wants to play you can add me on XBOX360 : Twistyshadow

In between headsets right now but would still like to play with some people who do more than just try to kill each other.

That gets OLD REAL FAST....

Have not done many of the missions that require more than 1 person for that reason...

Been sticking to missions I can do on my own, just doing them on hard to get the most RP  from them...

Is it just me or was this games fun short lived? I haven't really played it in 3-4 weeks and don't have much interest in playing ..

I haven't played in almost 2 weeks, either. Considering getting rid of my copy for the time being, and getting an extra DS4 to go with my PS4 on Friday. It's still getting $40 at Best Buy, so that's pretty tempting.

you should, that is probably the most you will get for it

Yeah I purchased my swanky new apartment and unlocked an achievement lol. Still waiting for heists though.
i am waiting for the heist too. i already have over two million already, so $500k to me is not that much. I actually play legit

It seems like Rockstar is still scrambling to meet the online need, they've basically turned their game into an MMO where now they have to come out with new content all the time now.

The online glitches and fixes are being addressed before they give out the $timulous package. The $timulous Package needs to go out before the Beach Bum Pack as that has been pushed back. Lol it's a thing that Rockstar doesn't really follow schedules or deadlines. They're kind of like Blizzard in the sense of saying it'll be there when it's good and ready.

I haven't finished SP, so I'll go back to that at some point, but my interest for the MP took a HUGE dive from a month ago. GTA Online isn't a complete failure, but I woudn't call it a success either.

they had to release Stimulous package by the months end, and their original reason for the two payment of $250k was to prevent an imbalance in the gta v economy. THey realized the truth it is already imbalance, because people had been glitching money, and there were nothing they could do about it.

I havent played recently either.  Online was such a mess that I just left it alone.  Now I'm looking at my PS4 games and wondering if I'll get back to it...

I sold my copy about 2 weeks ago.
Damn. Everytime I was on no one from Vinewood MC would be on, so I just kept playing solo. I was hoping to get a night together with a crew.

But I feel the same. I haven't played it in weeks. They keep mentioning content, but it's really disappointing that it's not there. And I really wish there weren't ranks and unlocks. Instead, everything should have been there and you can get money for extra things, like clothes or vehicles. I hate the idea of playing a match where some players can have an abundance of weapons, armor, health, and support, and some new or less active players will have less or none of those things. It totally ruins my interest in actually playing that game, even though suits always think it makes a game more addicting to withhold and make you unlock. I'm sure it works on many people, but just not me.

Also, the way things are teased but not there turns me off from it. I'm not sure if DLC for the singleplayer would be coming again like there was with GTA4, but if there is I'd rather buy a Game of the Year, Complete, 10 OUT OF 10 version. But I was expecting to do heists, to edit the missions, to have more involvement in the game. It's the way Rockstar's own hype made the game feel. Telling us about features that aren't there yet only makes me disappointed, not intrigued. Tell me about it when it's coming in a week, not when it's months away from being actually available. I'm sure that in their meetings Rockstar must have felt that slowly releasing extra things for multiplayer would increase the lifespan of the game, and that people would be hooked on the game world, but I feel like it's done the opposite. San Andreas feels so vacant, even with what's available. No heists yet, disappointing races and deathmatch structure, ranks that withhold weapons and other items from you (and could be lost initially), boring things like shooting range competitions, tennis, golf, darts and arm wrestling where people frequently quit out, or have bad connections which is horrible to play through, and a large but lacking environment.

I have always enjoyed the area of Liberty City the most, even back to the GTA 3 games and spinoffs. Something about the urban structure really compliments the feel of GTA. GTA5 has a city, but if feels empty and dwarfed when looking at GTA4's city scape. Even though GTA4 could be seen as more redundant because of the constant city, city, city view, where 5 has a city and a country side, beaches and mountains, I just find those last three areas to be useless and actual wastes of space and data. They're neat to fly over and drive through a few times, but then they become a hassle and time consumers. Look at how in GTA5 the North part of the highway really wraps around the open land, and only has a few roads that reach through it. It's literally a highway that leads to nothing but the other side of the city; not another city, not a different space, it just leads you around the void to the other side of Los Santos in a really long path. And that makes it feel so blank and unusable for actual gameplay reasons. It's neat in concept, but actually reduces the play space in the same way, as people aren't out in those mountains, plains and lakes playing.

I could play the cooperative missions many, many times, and did, in GTA4. I liked the scope and how you had a full city with options of time of day, pedestrian and car activity and weather settings. I didn't enjoy the deathmatch or racing for the same reasons I don't like them in GTA5. Races are just people smashing and quitting out, and deathmatch always feels like a stacked team against randoms who frequently quit out. At least in GTA4 you could find guns and just not start with them, but I still avoided those gametypes usually.

Without heists to interest me, all I have is Survival, and that is very disappointing. No join in means quitters not only ruin your team stucture, but also ruin your experience as the difficulty of it, or really the amount of enemies spawned, is based around the amount of starting players. In later waves you'll get overwhelmed if 1 or 2 players quit, making the mode tedious and ignorable.

So, yeah, I guess I should trade it in if the value is still high.

Yeah whenever i played online i would sometimes get a friend or two to hop on but they werent even in my crew. When i did play with people i knew it was more fun. But overall it was fun, but nothing i couldnt wait to get back to and play when i wasnt playing it. I sold my copy on ebay for about 53 with shipping.

I stopped playing this even though I was just waiting for online to be smoothed out.. The collection achievements are just boring as fuck and felt more like a chore. So I said fuck it. I hope the DLC gets me back into it.

In the single player mode, is there a way to change the default car when you start the game and switch between characters? I have collected a few cars parked in the garages and about 70% complete in the story (just blew up the FIB building). When I start the game and switch to Franklin, he's always got the same white charger, Trevor has the truck and Michael has the black sedan his son customized. Or do I have to drive to my garage each time?

all the main characters use those cars exclusively, otherwise you have to go to the garage, yeah :/

Spoiler alert...

Yeah I know. More info:

Rockstar has apparently brought forth a solid offering of new jobs for GTA Online so they have not detailed them in full. They have, however, highlighted some of their favorite, which you can learn more about below:

  • “Grass Route II” (Race): In this sequel to the original popular Grass Route Race, go off-road in an epic heat starting on the North bank of the Zancudo River through the treacherous wetlands with a triumphant finish on the beach in North Chumash.
  • “Survival on Del Perro Pier” (Survival): Skip the ferris wheel for a deadlier kind of thrill ride as you take on waves of relentless enemies at this beachfront attraction.
  • “View of Vespucci” (Parachuting): This leap sends you from 2,980 feet, down towards Vespucci Beach, weaving through palm trees to land on the basketball courts of the rec center. If you’ve got skills, it’s possible to freefall through the first few checkpoints before even opening your chute.
  • “Paleto Beach” (Team Deathmatch): The locals complain that not a lot happens in this sleepy town, so do them a favor and wake ‘em up with a barrage of gunfire exchanged between you and a rival team. This Team Deathmatch takes place right on the romantic shoreline for 4-8 players.
  • “Sundae Driving” (Bike Race): Sure to be a new fan-favorite motorbike race, menace Vespucci Beach on your two-wheel rocket, taking breakneck corners as you try and best the competition.
And finally, the new weapons added to GTA Online are the SNS pistol and the broken bottle melee weapon. The SNS pistol looks to be an ultra small handgun perfect for up close skirmishes, but if players are going to be getting too close they might want to opt for the broken bottle for a nice change of pace.
Sounds like fun.

Yeah I know. More info:

Sounds like fun.
i know i am probably going to sound unreasonable, but rockstar should just go ahead, and release the heist immediately. instead of hiding behind the excuse of still fixing the glitches/issues. Even though it is a valid reason, but with a mmo type game like gta v online. It is impossible to fix everything. They should just fix, while on the go. the Gta v online experiment has been a utter disaster , or even failure to say the least. Especially with all the promise, they claim/made during the promotion videos shown before the release of the gta v.

It's actually around two months but yeah sure spoiler tag stuff people. You didn't want it ruined for you, pass on the notion then.

I have not had any interest in playing it lately. Multiplayer is starting to feel a lot like GTA IV and that's not good at all. It's not similar really, it's just so boring after playing for such a long time. They promised something new and fun, yet that's clearly not the case.

I'm really hoping something is done to get me back into it. I'm actually more ready for more story DLC than anything to do with online.

The story line was very enjoyable but I think it lacked in side missions. It felt shorter than the other GTA games personally. I think that's because they stuck to the missions being story based as to previous GTA games the missions were sometimes random. Just some BS jobs for some random guy that was kind of tossed away. I was hoping for more episodic content for this game where the characters and story kind of mattered. Didn't really care for the multiplayer since all it ended up becoming was ways to try and not get killed by others just screwing. TiredJohn was so right on the Cagcast saying everybody was going to be saying it was amazing then looking back it's a meh game.

The one thing I love about the game that has gotten mostly overlooked is all the detail put in. The little things. Like the sounds the cars make, the physics, etc. OH WELL.

That's interesting, I found tons of side stuff to do and there are tons of random encounters too.
I really wish I could say the same :/. But all the random encounters I did were so empty and bland. and the side stuff was just really collecting. I think one reason I didn't get a full enjoyment of it was that the entire map wasn't utilized in most missions. I discovered cool new areas which weren't even brought up during the story, especially the north part of the map. I just got too bored with the collecting and it ended up tiring me out of the whole game. sigh...

Question from someone who has yet to purchase GTA V: My brother and I don't play online much, but do appreciate the occasional 2-player co-op with one another. Is there enough 2-player co-op content or does GTA Online pretty much require joining a crew?

there is enough 2 player coop content to play online, you do not need a crew for missions. the only benefit of crew, is getting much more experience point/rank points when completing each mission. similar to leveling in rpg/mmo

Thanks! Good to know. Looks like I'll be buying 2 copies come Black Friday.

The GTA Online Beach Bum Update is Now Available

The world of Grand Theft Auto Online gets even deeper with the Beach Bum update, now available on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In order to keep GTA Online flexible and constantly evolving, the game is built to receive new content in a variety of ways including major paid expansions at specific points across the year, dropping additional content via regular title updates, and even the instant and seamless addition of jobs via the Rockstar Social Club. The Beach Bum content comes via a free update to GTA Online and Grand Theft Auto V's Story Mode as part of the latest automatic Title Update (1.06), so just fire up your console to download it.

^is it any good Spy?  I know I'll be downloading it soon but with so many other titles I'm playing through right now its hard to put this back at the top of my priority list, lol.

Yeah if you're gonna play the game sure but if you're doing something else I'd say pass for now. It's a good update once you put the disc back in, since it's free.

Man I remember when I got torn apart in this thread a few months back for saying how overrated this game was and how it wasn't one of my top games ever. How times have changed. The steam wore off fast for GTA 5

Nah I remember that, you basically wrote off the game before the multiplayer even came out. Lobbies were a lot more active over the promo weekend and I'm digging the new survival map, my main fav mode really, where you have to fend off the cops at an industrial plant. Could have been there before but it was first time I played it.

Ahh the only survival missions I played were the Boneyard against meth heads and the Industrial Plant against the cops. There's a couple of good fortified locations in each that'll help you pass each wave, that is if you can take out the helicopters and don't get flanked. This mode is where I think GTA Online shines imo.

before the beach bum/1.06 update came out, surivial would net you a ton of rp points if playing with the max 4 players, or crew members. also the stock market for gta:eek: is probably scrapped for good , and gone due to the glitchers who are already billionaires in the game.

i am going to post it here, since this gta v thread is still somewhat active/alive. lol

someone posted what seems to be  hacked  audio file from in game character for gta v online, which somewhat confirmed there is the possiblity of  later to be release contents like casinos, as well as heists. and other purchaseable properties that allow you to generate revenue similar to the single player. horse race betting. It is still unconfirmed if it is legit.

*said video*
The video image actually made me think there was going to be a Candy Suxxx audio clip (for people who remember Vice City), and that Rockstar was going to reclaim the use of pornstar voice talent in open world games back from the Saints Row franchise.

Don't forget that you can use those support requests from your phone while doing Survival games. I costs a lot of money, but it's an option if you're having trouble on the higher levels of it.

Free GTA Online Deathmatch & Race Creators Update Now Available
Posted 7 hours, 50 minutes ago | Author: R* Q | Filed Under: Games, Social Club

actual_1386616689.jpg

Create custom Deathmatches and Races with the latest free update to GTA Online.

The free Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta update for Grand Theft Auto Online is now available for PS3 and Xbox 360. Just download the latest automatic title update to gain access to some of the same tools our own game design and development teams use to craft custom skirmishes and races in any of the following modes:

  • Deathmatch
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Race
  • GTA Race
  • Rally Race

To get started, access the Creator option from the Online tab of the pause menu. From here, you can start creating your own custom Deathmatches & Races or load and edit a previous creation. From there, you can check out a brief tutorial before you fully dive in (which we highly recommend).
actual_1386608585.jpg

In Deathmatch Creator, you can set Weapon and Armor locations in addition to Spawn Points.

Deathmatch
You can create free-for-all or team variant modes; find your Deathmatch location anywhere in Los Santos or Blaine county, then drop the Trigger Location, where players will meet up to play your Deathmatch. Control the pace of your custom match with gameplay options Team Start Points and Spawn Points. With the operational foundation laid, dig into a full suite of Weapons and Vehicle customization; all weapon and vehicle classes are at your disposal to place around your Deathmatch. You can also drop Props like containers and ramps, to create hot spots for gunfights, more cover, or maybe you just want a few Sanchez dirt bikes to go airborne in the middle of a gunfight.
actual_1386608597.jpg

Customize the number of racers and the size of the starting grid.

Races
Get started with a working knowledge of race creation by playing through the tutorial and building a land race. Once you've successfully published your first Land Race, both Sea and Air Races will be available for creation. In the Race Creator you can set the basics; Race Type (Race, GTA Race, Rally Race) and Route Type (Laps or Point to Point), number of players, starting grid size, vehicle class and more. Once you’ve set the basics, the full map becomes your racing paradise – take your land, air and sea races anywhere you want them to go. Add stunt jumps with custom cameras, create obstacles, and take your opponents on your dream (their hell) ride through Los Santos and Blaine County.
actual_1386608609.jpg

Add checkpoints to map out the route in created Races.

Once you've finished, you'll be prompted to test your Deathmatch or Race against computer controlled characters – completing a valid test before you publish your creation ensures your race is working perfectly, and will prevent you from publishing (or playing someone else’s) broken match. Published creations appear inside your GTA Online session and on the Social Club website (a linked Social Club account is required to use the Creator). We'll also be periodically reviewing the best community-created content to recognize and distinguish them as Rockstar Verified.
actual_1386608625.jpg

Capture a photo of your creation that will be seen in-game and on the Social Club website.

Along with the Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta, the latest automatic title update has a host of new fixes and updates for Grand Theft Auto V's Story Mode and GTA Online, including the flexibility to create weapon-locked deathmatches, giving players the ability to run inside their apartments and higher cash payouts when increasing the difficulty on Missions. For full details on the fixes and improvements in this latest title update, visit the Rockstar Support page for all the details.
... and this update is taking forever for me?!

RACES:

actual_1387220297.png

Over The Hill II by LXG_No_Mercy

You may have seen us playing this one during last weekend’s Social Club Event live-stream show. "Over the Hill", from the veteran LXG Crew and their outspoken leader LXG No Mercy, is currently amongst the top 10 most popular Xbox 360 Jobs. This epic up-and-downhill off-road Race climbs over Mt. Chiliad with multiple obstacles to navigate through some of the roughest terrain San Andreas has to offer.

actual_1387391945.png

Jump and Die by keatonw33

Another of the top 10 most popular Xbox 360 Jobs, this Race has some extreme jumps spanning five major areas. Not-so-shy to show off his own take on a creative jump-shot, keatonw33 takes us through a chaotic but fun endurance test as he challenges: “Your car will need all the armor it can get… maybe wings too!”

actual_1387392332.png

Jumps Jumps Jumps by iTzPressure

This simple Race arranges some perfectly placed jumps along a dusty stretch of highway starting in Mount Gordo and ending up in the Grand Senora Desert. See if you have what it takes to brave this deadly game of heavy metal hopscotch.

actual_1387393847.png

Quick 'n Quarrelsome by FatiguePsycho

A very fun Los Santos Race from a member of the Velocity X Crew, this challenging double-helix-looking circuit of "tricky twists and turns" will put your cornering skills to the test.

actual_1387394997.png

Drift King by MrPalms

It would appear a careful chemistry went into this decked-out race course on the docks submitted byWalterWhitePlc Crew Commissioner, MrPalms. Squared off alongside the water, missing those Check Points will punish you in this sink or swim challenge.

actual_1387395630.png

LS Forum by caskillo

A Velo/NASCAR-style rooftop race atop the Maze Bank Arena, this Top 10 Most Popular PS3 Job is a RPM extravaganza. We highly recommend motorbikes as the transport of choice, for the full wind-rushing-through-your-hair effect that can only be achieved by going in tight circles at top speed hundreds of feet above downtown Los Santos.

DEATHMATCHES:

actual_1387397172.png

Seal Team Six by ishtheengineer

Spawn into this Deathmatch with Rhinos, Lazers and Buzzards (oh my) for an all-out battle at the Sandy Ridge airport. Heavy firepower with lots of room to stretch your legs. This artillery attack follows the simple formula that everything goes better with high-end explosives and military-grade hardware.

actual_1387399792.png

Saving Ryan's Privates by dafr3aka

Despite the cheeky title, this Deathmatch ranks highly as a brutal gauntlet where you are instructed to "eliminate your enemy using your military training" and hardware which seems entirely appropriate for a crunch-time arms display on Pillbox Hill.

actual_1387401157.png

Prison Thugz Fight by Mike921

The Bolingbroke Penitentiary has certainly been a popular location for up-and-coming match makers and this one is a standout example of why. Resident inmates learn the full meaning of daily wRECk time in the yard with enough baseball bats, knifes and nightsticks to keep this jailhouse melee rockin' around the clock.

actual_1387473168.jpg

Bridge of Death by Junestar225

Nowhere to go but down it would seem. Square off against your enemies on a fortified bridge with no shortage of projectiles, firearms, active traffic, wreckage and plenty of barriers to make this a chaotic cocktail of death and destruction above the La Puerta Bay.

Think you've made a pretty awesome Playlist-worthy Job we should consider for Rockstar Verification? Share some details and links in comments below (although please only post your Job once, do not spam) so that others in the Social Club community can try it and we may just check it out as well. It’s always good practice to get the rest of the Community at large playing your Race or Deathmatch for feedback and further testing to help fine-tune it into a masterpiece. Stay tuned for more Rockstar Verified player-made Jobs to be announced soon.

I came back to this after a hiatus of probably 2 months now. Still fun at times, but something is lacking for me. It's a fun game to play with friends but the whole game is ruined by the hackers now.

I have yet to encounter a hacker on the 360, but I can't play online longer than 10 mins at a time without getting kicked so that may be why.

But to pick it up you can get your moneys worth and fun for a long time just in the single player portion of the game.
