Green Man Gaming (Steam) Deals: 25% Off Hitman

So, my XBL stuff is up to date, I think.  I mean my GS looks accurate (if a little bit pathetic).  But my PSN stuff still is in limbo.  I want my Mass Effect Platinums updated damnit!

Even cheaper if you don't buy any of the DLC. ;)
I can do you one better save 5 bucks and not buy any of it. :D

So I signed up for this playfire stuff (stupid spoder) and have no idead what I'm doing, so I've done nothing as far as I can tell and have an additional $0.92 in GMG credit overnight. Yay?
same here, I have $1.02 now. apparently they now reward you for watching porn, this is pretty sweet.

I'm also having issues with the Playfire Reward Beta. I've had a playfire account for a while, I even have a legacy profile (not sure what that's all about). I followed the directions when I joined the Beta in December. I even use the same email address with playfire/GMG.

Probably a damn good reason why it's still BETA ;) . I submitted a support ticket myself as well...

because I want my 1.65 pounds of credit!
Google redefined Beta

Well, this morning I was successfully able to apply both the voucher discount and my reward credits to TOTD.  So now I've gotten that with the 2 DLC and Binary Domain for free (not to mention two copies of Rome:TW).  Anyone who's not riding the Playfire rewards train should really check it out.  I'm just afraid Brave New World or XCOM:EW will go on sale for a killer price before I can rack up enough credits again.

I thought you quit that...? (I did log in today for a quick match with a Doom Bot... I wanted my Hulk daily reward.)
As of yesterday, yeah, I think I'm done. Just logged in to claim my rewards, but I think it's time to break the addiction and play something else. I'm tired of babysitting tournaments for so little payoff. And I've got too many great games just sitting on the back burner!

What in the SAM hill are you talking about? Details...!
It sounds like you've figured it out already. I'm just getting almost every new reward as they post them. With a large backlog, 6 new rewards per day, and the currency conversion, those credits rack up quick. And if you don't own a game and there's a sale and rewards for it, you can pick it up quite cheap. For example, my net cost for Binary Domain was $1.60 - which I paid with free reward money anyway. Now I just need them to add rewards for Typing of the Dead! I wish I would have been on top of this when the program launched; I only really figured it out this week.

Actually, I just took a swag at it. I don't use said option, though seeing the results I'm hearing the emperor's voice inside my head saying something about the dark side. And another voice inside my head mumbling something about an Italian cold cut.

You white knights are making me feel guilty for gaming the system...probably doesn't speak well of me that I didn't even consider the ethical implications of this

Playfire is not rewarding me for achievements I already had...
Nope. That's why it's working to my advantage, also, that I've never even fired up much of my backlog. You get 10 cents credit for playing games for the first time if they're on the list.

Someone knows if this voucher is still active?

I'm trying using with Hell Yeah Collection but I it doesn't work.

So I'm a newb to Green Man Gaming. If I preorder Elder Scrolls Online through them, I have to play through the Capsule client? And if so, is it any good?

I'm a newb to ESO (and MMOs in general), but I'd imagine it would have it's own launcher. GMG will usually say along the right side of the page under requirements specifically if a game requires Capsule to play and/or download (or any other DRM). The lack of any notice (beyond needing an ESO account) on the ESO pages leads me to believe you'd have a normal non-Capsule download from GMG and play with ESO's own laucher.

As Neuro said pretty much all MMOs use a launcher, and I expect ESO to be no different. You'll likely get a key to activate on their site, and download the installer from there.

If it was a capsule game they'd have it labeled as such. It's not good though (well, unnecessary and annoying might be a better way to describe it).

The original Dawn of War expansion packs are -75% al a carte and the base price is cheaper than on Steam.

There have been other, cheaper, complete packs but I think this is the lowest-price-eva if you're looking to fill in gaps.

Good to know. Thank you! I didn't want to mess with any additional, weird clients. I figured ESO would have it's own client, so I'm resigned to that.

The complete bundle for both games is on sale also... 27.99

Its a hell of a deal... I'm missing the first game (and its expansion) and the bulk of the DLC for Retribution and it STILL almost cheaper to by the complete pack... Its just hell of wasteful.

Granted it wasn't all Steam, but some of us got the DoW Franchise Pack from Amazon in last years EC sale for $4.99. I guess that was a pretty decent deal. I should probably play one of those games before I die. Maybe.

Did you suddenly get lots and lots of free time or something?
Haha, definitely haven't acquired more free time. In fact, when ESO does come out, I'll be gearing up for the end of my semester.

Not sure how playing this is going to work out. Likely, hubby will quickly outpace my character. But I'm sure I'll find enough time to play to justify the cost...eventually.

... if you get one key, then yes, it's wasteful. But if you get multiple keys, you can just give away or trade off the extra stuff.

WH40K is definitely worth checking out, the older titles are a little dated but you can just start with DOW2, since the story isn't all that important/interesting. It plays like Company of Heroes in a sci-fi fantasy setting, with some RPG elements thrown in (you get gear and skills for your units/heroes).

Some of us got the complete pack in last year's steam winter sale for $9.99, and it of course was all Steam.

I disagree about the story don't beign interesting. I LOVE all the Warhammer 40K lore. Granted DoW and DoW2 story are not tied (just certain references), but both are great. I'm waiting for space hulk to get cheaper and hope the old ones to be on GOG some day
