Yeah you get a key and can just punch it into steam. I think they e-mail you and it shows up in your games section and you get to skip capsule.
 
Voucher code was busted for a bit yesterday. Sent them an email and it is back on now and it sounded like it would be running through today.
 
Tempted to cancel my Arkham City preorder due to the pushed back date, but I'm not seeing anything else that interests me on GMG, and I'm worried about floating credit with them. They seem to have made a lot of mistakes lately, and I worry that they may go out of business.

Yeah makes me wonder if I should pick up Batman actually since I have $10 in credit + the preorder discount + 20% makes it $23 after everything, not bad. Plus I find GFWL a plus for me since I can get some cheevos on PC haha
 
For what it's worth, I messaged support about the possibility of them going out of business. Not sure if they'd let people know if they were going out of business in the US at least, but this is what I got:

So Arkham City now has Steam achievements (Steamworks?) and it uses GFWL?

Seems a bit strange but my question is when do you receive your key from greenmangaming?

I don't think the game is steamworks unless you buy it on steam.

Yea, it died yesterday. I have been a bit slow on updates as I am annoyed with GMG BS lately. I will try to be on the ball with the updates a little more. I know how annoying it is seeing a deal you want in a title and having it be dead.
 
How do pre-orders of Steam games on GMG work? They told me the steam code will appear on my download page when it's available. Will that be as soon as it's released on Steam or will there be a delay? Where exactly should I look for the code, and do they send you an email notification or anything? I bought Renegade Ops on GMG and it releases on Steam tomorrow around 1pm est.

It almost entirely depends on the publisher. Sometimes they give out prerelease keys so you can preload, sometimes it's as the game launches.

Keys usually go out 0-2 days before launch although sometimes there can be delays. They will send you an email with the key and you can also login to your account, go to my games and click on the game to see if the key is in there.

Edit: I bought Renegade Ops as well, I will post here when keys are out if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Wow, I just looked at the system requirements on Steam and it says 10gb hard drive space. That seems like a lot...
 
I noticed that on GreenMan they said minimum requirement was 5GB and recommended was 10. Steam said 10 for both, strange.

I'm glad to see it's so big cause I've been a console gamer my whole life and just started getting into PC games. I want PC games to be a big step up vs the console editions and I know the PS3 version of Renegade Ops is 2.5GB. I made the mistake of buying Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on PC recently and it was worse than the PS3 version, hoping not to make that mistake again in the future.

Don't judge a game's quality by its size. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was over 20 gigs, and, well...

We don't talk about that one anymore.
 
I'm judging whether the PC version may be more advanced than the console version based on size, not whether it's a good or bad game. The size would suggest less compression, maybe higher res textures and stuff like that. What happened with Force, just a bad game? I played the demo on PS3.

The PC port was terrible, and the large size wasn't because of hi res textures, it just seems like there was little to no compression.
 
Oh, then I guess you have a point. I know that Avalanche is a good developer and it's made on a good game engine so hopefully that's not the case with Renegade Ops! Just Cause 2 on PC really pushed my hardware, it's leagues above the console versions. Now they just need to send me the damn steam key.
 
Renegade Ops has been delayed. From what I understand it's been delayed like 4 times so far. Sega's online store says You'll receive your download links and activation code by email the 10/20/2011 at 18:00 EDT.

Steam now says October 2011.

Pretty bummed the UK are getting all these exclusive games and deals, I'd hoped that digital distribution would get rid of that crap. I guess I was wrong.

Awesome to see a GMG rep on here though!

Deus Ex deal is alright, but it doesn't even come close to beating OnLive's $1 sale.

That doesn't apply to PayPal users. Make sure that the email address you have linked to your account corresponds with the email address your PayPal account is associated with.
 
Had a hard time biting on hard reset. With so many good games coming soon I don't know if I will have time. It still seems pricey for an independent fps. I would think $15 would be a normal price.

Dungeon Siege III DLC is on Steam now but apparently keys have not gone out from GMG. I inquired and will report back if/when I get an answer.
 
Sonic generations is on GMG and with the 10% off voucher it comes out to $25.02. That's half off the 360/PS3 versions. Thanks GMG :D

I am excited.
