Really? I know this site is called Cheap Ass Gamer, but goddamn.

Bought the bundle. Beatblaster is interesting, but I'm not a fan of the escort/protect gameplay, and 30 minutes into it, that seems to be all I'm doing. Unlike anything I've played recently but I probably won't be going back to it.

Gun Metal is decent, but controller setup is a pain and I'm strictly controller these days.

Epigenesis is 100% dead and online-only, don't even bother installing.

I need to try Half Minute Hero still.
Well, it's not only a lacklustre bundle, but the second tier is higher than I'm used to from Groupees, is all. Wouldn't expect them to have it that high with a bundle like this (I mean BM11 was better and it was just $1, experiment or not).

To each their own. I thought this was a great bundle, despite not being too crazy about the games thus far after playing them. I've actually heard of most of these games, and they're not simulators, artsy-fartsy sidescrollers, or isometric RPGs. That alone makes this an absolute gem of a bundle.

I'll give you that. This is definitely better than the sim bundle. But being better than the crappiest bundle (sorry Fox), doesn't make it a gem. If the second tier was $2, I'd do it for HMH alone, no question. Hell, even $3 would make more sense (in line with the current sim bundle). I believe idiot said it best not too long ago, there was a dry spell and now they come back and this is what we get. It's just disappointing.

I like how you act like it's a great bundle, then proceed to say a lot of negative things about the games included.

Maybe I'm missing the logic here.
In his defense, pretty much everything he ragged on was in the $1-tier except for Epigenesis, but yeah, an online-only game in the higher-tier should not be dead. What a joke, no reason they couldn't have put it at $1.

I'd say Half-Minute Hero is worth $2, myself. I bought it for slightly more than that, and I'm not disappointed with that decision (except insofar as I apparently could have gotten it bundled).

Unfortunately, I already own that and Gun Metal, and the only other game I'm interested in is Echo of the Wilds—and that's more curiosity than any genuine anticipation or anything.

That and he mentions there are no simulators, but last I checked.. A-Train is a simulator.

Maybe he forgot to add yellow comic sans.

I'm not sure what you're used to, then. Most Groupees Be Mine bundles for quite awhile have had the second tier at $5. Even if they didn't like the results of their experiment, they still moved the upper tier down from where they had it.

You missed nothing. These games aren't great, but it's still a decent bundle for the price because the games are interesting enough to check out. They're not simulators, Diablo clones, or Braid clones. Gun Metal seems like a great game, I just need to a) find a better controller setup, or b) find a proper way to use a keyboard/mouse with my HTPC setup.

...you got me there. That was the one game I didn't bother installing, I totally forgot it existed.

I don't get the thing about yellow comic sans. Inside joke? I don't post here often enough apparently.

I haven't bought anything from Indie Royale in ages due to the (often) high price for the amount of artsy, avant-garde Steam games you get. It's usually at least $2 per Steam game by the time I get there. And the only game I owned in this bundle was Gun Metal. So to me, this has far more value than every Indie Royale to come out in the past year.

Well, I've only bought one IR, and yeah.. this is better than that. But should we really let crap slide just because it's better than one of the worst bundle sites currently? I see your point though, but I don't want it to be as Neuro put it "a race to the bottom".

Groupees: At Least We're Not As Bad As IndieRoyale.

Most bundles are better than IR's non-debut bundles these days, that's not really an accomplishment. IMO the recent Indie Galas (when you factor in happy hour), and BundleStars have been better than BM12.

I bought the Groupees bundle because one of the games in it is my wife's nickname for me: Half-minute Hero. Not sure why she calls me dat only in da bedroom doe....

IDK A-Train hasn't really been lower than $5 so I see these other games as free.

But then I'm probably one of the 3 or 4 A-Train fans in America. Release PS1? Shit fuck Toshinden lemme get that A-Train.

I think I know a fan of this A-Train:

-snip-

GOD BLESS TEBOWDRAGON, WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!!
First of all, that dude's nips are pierced. I don't even.

Secondly, he's on Steam. He randomly added me a few days ago even though we've never met, ever. I'm waiting to see what his first words to me are. :bouncy:

You know what makes you being the first to reply even funnier? He found me through you. :p
I think BobbyTastic is actually tebowdragon, and he reverted back to a normal human being after gathering enough data for his university study on the social complications associated with brain damage.

 Don't I wish. That's actually not the worst theory, considering a dragon is my avatar. The only problem is that I've been around too long to be a post-ban alt account (just hidden in the console threads where you folks never venture).

That, and I don't like Tebow, despite being stuck with him on one of my state's teams (NY). But for whatever reason, the universe has put me in these threads as his replacement. I'd do an impression of him to fill the void in your hearts, but I don't have enough of a grasp on Tebonics. So I'll just stick to being the human the MysterD cylon was based on. :bouncy:
