Not all dubstep is bad. Most, but not all. The same can be said for pretty much any genre of music.

Most genres of music are formulaic in some sense. Like I said, most dubstep is mediocre and generic, but those aren't enough to classify an entire genre as being bad.

Yeah, the shit you hear on radio/top40 is just that... shit. With so many indie artists out there now, there's a lot of crappy stuff in that bag too.

Some is extremely good, though. Drivepilot are my favorite, their stuff is so clean and well done. F-777 is also really good, and is great at playing with different sounds.

As for this Juggalo dubstep? We shalt see.

I recently discovered Drivepilot and immediately fell in love with them. I can see why you would give dubstep a bad rep though because most of the shit you here is the generic wub-wub Skrillex shit. You have to dig a little deeper and sift through a lot of bad just to get to the good and having to do that much work may turn off the casual listener.

i cant listen to music without instruments

samples and all that...id rather listen to the dyer

Not sure if these games are worth $5. $1 or 2 for all would be a decent deal, though.

Sort of why I stick to whatever I get in indie bundles. A lot of the time, these indie bundle guys are pretty good at snagging some good music... and it's almost free, since you're buying games anyways.

I actually used to like Skrillex. It's catchy and wild, but it gets old and repetitive very quickly. That's the thing with dubstep, if your "arsenal" of methods of putting the music together is fairly limited (like Skrillex), it gets annoying quickly. The only Skrillex song I can put up with anymore is Devil's Den, since Wolfgang Gartner collaborated for it, and he puts some interesting melodies together.

But now... jugstep. That's another story.
The dude would piss on dubsteps carpet

just sayin
I've come to the conclusion that you are a bitter old man and whatever you don't like is wrong and bad.

I used to like Skrillex as well, until I really got into the genre and discovered what else was out there. Skrillex isn't that bad, it's just that he doesn't have a lot to offer so once you've heard one Skrillex song, you've pretty much heard them all. And yeah, I agree about Devil's Den.

He's just drunk, lol.

Well, when I called the music crappy I meant because it's the sort of bonus they usually give for free from the jump and shouldn't be like the 8th bonus, especially after Karateka. It wasn't necessarily a shot at the quality.

I was curious about this guy and started to browse his works on his soundcloud.
I am not a big fan of wubstep myself, I prefer DnB and Chillstep, but he has a few good songs imo, such as Open Up My Head and Locked Up. All of his dubstep songs seem to be crap, or maybe I just quickly outgrew the genre and it all sounds like crap to me now.

The groupees post says:
A collection of tracks put together by Dubstep, Glitch Hop, Trap, and DrumandBass Monster WE BANG.
So we won't be getting just wubstep.

so since this is going nowhere particularly relevant, just thought I'd throw out a question: Best and worse game you've gotten from groupees?

For my my favorite has been Bleed (probably already said that about billion times, but whatever), and worst is easily RADical Roach. I've been trying to decide what to try next, but they're just so many to choose from:joystick:

Best is sorta hard... I'd say the top three have been La-Mulana, Avernum Trilogy, and 99 Levels to Hell.

Worst, by far, was Laxius Force. Or all of the shitfest Ardorlea RPGs that have been in Groupees bundles.

I didn't think that it was possible to have a bonus that was less appealing than the cockroach game. These groupees bonuses really run hot & cold.

best for me is King's Bounty games, although I played them before they were in groupees. don't know what worst is, but i'll just randomly pick and say Madballs in Babo

Hey! I played Madballs in Babo with Obsidian Spire/randomdud (co-op). It's not bad. Your random pick sucks ;)

I think about how judicious it was to begin focusing more on indie games (circa Humble #2) every time Groupees drops a new #'d bundle.

I slot them at #2 on my bundle hierarchy and that's only because of the expectation that Humble will continue to come through with those bi-yearly telethons that aid the swagless, yet tragic, message board Steam-key spammers.

(good)

- Kung Fu Strike
- Hamilton's Great Adventure
- Avernum
- Postal 2
- Lightfish
- Xotic
- The Ball
- Sideway New York

(extraordinarily bad)

- Wasteland Angel

There are also a few butters that I know I'll dig but haven't confirmed it yet: La-Mulana, Sol Survivor and Scratches.

This has been a pretty good $5 bundle for me. Was always interested in Blood Bowl but never wanted to invest much. Even if this isn't the latest version it's still a cheap way to try the game. Also varying degrees of interest in Blades of Time, Karateka, Patrician IV and Drakensang so it comes to $1 a game which is pretty good. As usual will ignore the Desura games and the "music". :bouncy:
LOL you're reminding me of my internal conversation.

Me: You don't need the Fable III DLC, it's rubbish.
Other Me: But Tony's got an awesome Fable III DLC pack for $3.
Me: Yeah, but it's rubbish. I mean, dog suit, seriously? Besides I'm a cat-person.
Other Me: You'll wonder and regret it when you finally get around to playing Fable III in a year or few.
Me: Aargh!
I share your same sentiment. :wall:

So there's a new hint for the 2nd mystery game. "Greek".

Someone in the groupees chat guessed God Mode.. that would match the video hint (stickfigure gun duels). I don't know of any greek shooters :whistle2:(

I wouldn't be surprised if Golden Dawn reskinned some FPS for propaganda. That'd be a key I would not be using or gifting.
The most pessimistic guess I can muster is Serious Sam: The Greek Encounter.
It's been bundled before so it's probably not that. The only repeat in the bundle is Blades of Time.

Besides, The Greek Encounter has the lowest rating in my Desura library :whistle2:(. I have to think Groupees aren't that cruel.. but then again they did give us Radical Roach..
It's obviously God of War, come on.
Groupees is announcing that they'll be exclusively porting God of War V to the PC and the early-access beta will be the new bonus. Buyers will receive the full game upon release.
Legendary almost works or maybe Garhasp?
Both of those were in Groupees bundles, so it won't be those. The 2nd Garshasp hasn't been bundled.. but I doubt there are guns in it?
God Mode would make sense, I assume the story is Greek related?
Plus I heard someone say the developer jumped ship, so it makes even more sense for it to be God Mode.
Legendary
Everyone warned me that game sucks but I thought "Hey, but a FPS with mythological monsters has to be at least sort of cool, right?"

It has its moments.

The Kraken fight is a really neat set piece, and blowing Griffons out of the sky with an RPG is a lot of fun as well.

Hopping around a warehouse with the awful first person platforming controls while werewolves spawn infinitely - not as much fun.
