Looks like I missed all the Winter Wolves drama. Glad it ain't me this time. :p

Oh and EWWW COOTIES to an all DRM Free/GOG bundle. :puke:

That Central Europe bundle is pretty rehashed and stank too. But if you absolutely positively must have Trainwreck of Arkania then paying $1 for along with getting the awesome but who doesn't have it by now Giana and a couple of Big Fishy games sounds about right.
Just read the ARM Steam thread... Yikes.

If you jumped in the dev would have had the holy Trinity of a withholding dev's worst nightmare: Fox, Brut, and Motoki. That was painful to read.

I hate white knights as much as anyone... but what. the. fuck.

You'll never see more white knights than in some anime like game.

I mean seriously, the dev can badger them, name call and leave a pile on thier front door and it will never stop the anime weabo white knights. Personally I think it's kind've funny.

Well that's just plain rude.
Douchedev strikes again!

Just read that discussion, it ended with the crapdev saying his game wasn't in need of the greenlight votes anyway.

I think indie devs (not all, but a LOT of them) should just create each a distribution system (each one of them their own) and forget about people, forums and so on. Then create an altar for the white Knights to adore then, banning those who criticizes. And a Spa. Don't forget they are the only people in this world that are working hard for something, and it is stressful.

I know right. Maybe he didn't intend to word it that way, but when I read it, it seemed like a big FU to his greenlight supporters. I don't know, just seems like the dev has a bad attitude.

If you've got supporters, you don't tell them that they weren't needed and you could get on by your own anyway. That's like telling them NOT to upvote your games on greenlight.

To be honest, I think he's stressed out and feels attacked and lashed out. Most of these indie devs need a PR person. That's the down side of not having a publisher, they let themselves get worked up on the internet and put their damned foot in their mouth.

FWIW he previously said he had didn't think his games would ever get into Greenlight and he had been trying for long time and it just didn't seem like it would happen. He seemed surprised when Loren got in.

I think he should have just left it at the Groupees not getting deluxe keys was a mistake but if anyone feels they want it they can write him for an upgrade key. That part was fine. It's when he got all defensive and starting trying to justify himself (why? it was a mistake) that he got into trouble.

I agree, if he had just stated it was a mistake and offered keys to people that email him.. there'd have been no issues. Instead, he posted a bunch of crap that didn't even relate to my post which made him look a lot worse. People make mistakes, I don't blame him for that.. but when devs start having bad attitudes trying to justify their mistakes, it can be a problem.

But then he went into the greenlight vote thing, which wasn't necessary at all. All he needed to do was reassure people that all votes helped, not say that some votes didn't help much at all and encourage people not to vote for his games lol.

Pretty much agree completely with Motoki, other than the fact that I think the mistake he made was giving Gala purchasers Deluxe keys. Not that Groupees purchasers were supposed to get Deluxe keys.

He definitely overreacted. I didn't think Spoder was a dick about it at all, and he launches into this tirade. Nobody was calling for his head, nobody was pressuring him to give keys, or called for a boycott. Just a note that Groupees purchasers got the short end of the stick. Anyone with any sense would have apologized for the mistake, and possibly offered to give keys for the Deluxe DLC free of charge. Even if he didn't want to do that (because he never said he would), he could have said so in a more polite way.

Then if he was getting harassed past that, he could explode into a tirade. His outburst just seemed to come out of nowhere, definitely has to be under some sort of stress.

Doing bundles is stressful guys, cut the guy a break.

Edit:

And apparently these are the type of people this game attracts:

Are the hardcore sex scenes pixellated or censored in any way? (Basically... is this game worth playing or not..?)

I am so embarresed now.. from reading the synopsis I assumed this was a Dating Sim, the storyline even seems similar to Kiminozu (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien). They even made a fantastic Anime based off of one of the routes - there was an American release called "Runbling Hearts" or something like that. Anyway, looks great, but I can't play a Dating Sim that has no sex in it. Hopefully these guys come out with some games for adults in the future.
Now, could I recommend this to a kid then, like a young girl whose into Manga and Anime?

Has anyone actually played any of the Microids games. They look like OK...maybe not great Adventure games....sadly it does look better than the Central Europe clash bundles sans the music, which looks ok.

I'm wondering this too. Seems like this should have been a $1 minimum bundle like CE Clash instead of a BAB at 50 cents a pop.

I agree after having read this stuff that most people were perfectly calm and reasonable about it, but I think it's stuff like this that was really over-the-top:

[background=#343435]Oh just shut the hell up and quit white knighting this guy. I can only hope that these armchair, after school developers DO get sick of this and quit Steam altogether. This "game" is complete garbage and is marketed towards deviant sociopaths. He should be on his knees thanking us for buying these trash bundles and YES voting this crap. The only I reason I helped this lunatic get on Steam was for the +1 steam count. People like me allow this gutter trash to get on Steam (and change our NO to YES votes) where he can start making real money from the numerous nutjobs that are willing to pay money for this.[/background]

This individual leans toward being very, um, strongly-opinionated in his posts, but I can easily see how someone would view this as not only a personal attack on the dev but also on anyone who played and liked the game.

If you're going to quote Idiotekque at least give him credit for it. ;)

So what you're saying basically is that Bruticis is a god.

Looking at the CotW Central Europe bundle, at first I thought Realms of Arcania was this, which I already have, but it's actually the new HD remake which I don't have. That made all the difference. I'll buy that and Where Angels Cry for a dollar.

Edit: When you redeem Realms of Arcania, grab the free Ogredeath DLC from the Steam store too

Thanks for the tip!

Eh it does help the bundle a bit, for a dollar could do a lot worse!

There's no way the individual who posted that would ever get banned from a forum. I mean, why would that ever happen?

Hey now, I actually played some of this game! It's really quite sad... waifu and oOoOoOo~ boyfriend-chan get in a motorcycle accident and boyfriend-chan loses his memory! Then waifu can choose to help him regain his lost memories and love her again, or can simply say "fuq dat" and live happily ever after with a new dude!

Really though, she should have just fucked his brains out in the hospital bed to jog his memory. I kept telling the dev that, but then he banned me from the forum.

Good to know. I already own WAC (and the other original games) so I would be buying the bundle for the remake and Song of the Myrne bonus. Not sure if those two are worth $1.

So is this Realms of Arkania game actually good?
Well, first of all, apparently you're getting the HD version here -> http://store.steampowered.com/app/237550/ and not the original.

Second of all, the general consensus on Steam is that when it shipped it was a pile of shit but that the dev has worked tirelessly to make it what it should have been on release. and has been very active in the Steam forums. So, basically there have been a ton of free patches as an apology from the dev, which counts for something.

Not sure when it happened but ROA For The Gods DLC was added as a bonus and is sitting at 90%.
Wow. That's pretty good, I was thinking I'd pick up the DLC for $1 during a sale anyways. And the other DLC is free.. so, why not? That's a pretty nice gesture by the dev. Doubt we'll see Rise of the Owlverlord as a bonus. :p

By the way, This Week in Chiptunes bundle is officially awesome. Professor Shyguy alone was worth the price.

Have any of the adventure games in the Microids bundle been previously bundled?
I don't think so I looked, also new bonus added there Red Johnson Chronicles: One Against All. I think i'll pick them all up...unique even though some may be bad, i'm sure one or two of these are good.

They just lowered the threshold number for the second bonus this morning so I'm sure they're anticipating that they may or may not reach the 3rd by the time this one ends. Because it's mostly DRM-free with a couple of GOG keys, it sold pretty poorly.

They'd be smart to restore all their downloads from prior bundles if they want people to buy DRM Free from them. I think someone mentioned some of their old links are still not working.
