Yeah, I never thought it was cool. I hate this shady business that is clearly just in place to get more money. But back when everyone would buy and sell the dollar days bundles for $1.50 (which is still a nice deal on $4 bundles like this), it just wasn't a big deal from a CAG's perspective. You could get around the shady nonsense and make your money back by helping out your fellow CAGs, which was nice. At $1.10, yikes.

I'm a bit more "hurt" because Groupees has been my favorite bundler for a long time. I like the variety, I like the music, I like the employees (I've spoken with Jonny a number of times), and I just liked their bundles and setup. So to see them going down this bullshit road, and going about it even shadier than Gala? It's just really disappointing, because I thought more of them. It's also really ridiculous hearing the constant rehearsed "It's never set in stone if we're doing dollar days or not" line. I wonder why it isn't...
Blame spoderman, he set the market price for dollar days bundle selling. ;)

I ended up selling a total of five gift bundles, which is kind of what I expected. I think most people who wanted Be Mine 13 were tricked into buying at $4 so the demand wasn't as high this time. I'm not a fan of how Groupees handles these dollar days either. It just seems a little dirty, desperate, and hypocritical to follow an Indie Gala-like model of sorts yet poke fun at other bundle sites for now similar behavior. Exploiting your consumer base only works once or twice before people wise up and decide to spend their money elsewhere.

I'm really puzzled as to why Groupees would even introduced dollar days to begin with as it'll set a bad precedent heading forward. I agree with what others have said, whether they do another Dollar Days promo or not most people are now going to wait. The impact will be a lower total sales volume. I wonder if the powers that be at Groupees accounted for that being a possibility.

My stance on Groupees:

Almost every bundle is a dollar... because that's the main tier I buy. If I buy a $4 tier, for some reason, it's because I really want it. At that point, I have at least 6-8 games for $4. If it goes for a buck because they're running dollar days after the bundle is supposed to be finished, well then it sucks... but it's just a few dollars and I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

If anything, it'll probably cause me to hold off on buying it until it's either over or they're running Dollar Days. I may miss a few mediocre games, but Groupies gets no money from me.

Well, Thomas was interested in hearing about things, so I quoted a bunch of comments here for him to read over. He's in for a reality check hearing what people who aren't Groupees AOL Chat White Knights have to say.

Hey, I wanted to give people a good deal, and that's what they got. I've never been into getting much profit for any sort of group buys. If I ever fuck up and buy a bundle before dollar days.. you can expect that price again ;)

If anyone wants to seriously complain about me pricing my bundles too low, they can go get a job.

No doubt, same here. If I'm involved in hosting various group buys my main motive is to help out CAGs. Any minor profit is appreciated but it's not a priority in the big scheme of things. At least for me anyway.

I wasn't complaining really, it's just that it's nice for someone who does buy in early to be able to get the bundle for a cheap price as well. Like I said before, you'd have to sell 30 bundles at $1.10 just to be paying $1 for yours...

Before it was nice because early purchasers could make their money back and get the bundle for cheap too. If the new standard is $1.10 then early purchasers are still fucked. It's nice to help out, but it's also nice to help out and not get fucked.

I'd have no problem paying $1.50 for a dollar bundle if I waited around and didn't buy it (I did before on one of the retro bundles). 40 cents is nothing, plus it allows the early buyer to make out well too.

The difference between the Retro bundle and Be Mine 12 is that those bundles were much crappier, and less people bought them before Dollar Days. With Be Mine 13, many people bought it before dollar days because it was a great bundle in comparison to those 2 and the bundle got extended in less than an hour before it was intended to end. I can guarantee you even if I didn't originally set the price at $1.10, people would be undercutting like crazy because so many CAGs bought it before the dollar days promo.

If you really want to make a profit, it shouldn't be that hard as long as you buy some bundles to resell later after Dollar Days ends. I don't plan on buying extra bundles to resell after the bundle ends, so no one would have competition from me.. but you might get some competition from borderland.

A new Build-a-Greenlight just popped up:

Attractio

Tallowmere

Wooden Floor

Deity Quest

inSynch

Urban War Defense

The Tiny Tale 2

Siralim

$0.25 each/min $1

But that actually brings up a good point. If people are even getting the top Be Mine bundles with a bunch of Steam keys for $1 who wants to pay more than $1 for Greenlight junk?

Hmm.. I do like the ability to pick games from these Greenlight bundles. I think I'm going with

- Attractio

- Tallowmere

- Urban War Defense

- The Tiny Tale 2

I'm not a big horror fan (though the idea of Wooden Floor seems interesting), I don't like the looks of those two RPGs, and InSynch looks kinda cool but it'd probably be annoying after three minutes.

After having scrutinized the titles, I'm not sure there are four that I'd play, so I'm probably better off waiting on a 1 game min day. Urban War Defense and Tiny Tale 2 are the only ones that look worth $0.25.

Maybe on Build a Greenlight bundle....I would want Tallowmere, Diety Quest (Almost bought on IGS) and Siralim....not sure if I want yet but something to think about.

If they do a dollar days, I guarantee you I'll have the lowest price. I'm undercutting fuck ing everyone because everyone kept undercutting me on Heileen 2 cards yesterday. It's war.
undercut you :D

You would have to find someone selling one for 1 cent for me to undercut and give it to you for free ;)

y u gaise not know how undercutting works?
hmmm, price wars chicken, which one of us wants to take a loss on these ;)

So whem someone sells you a gift bundle, how is it sent? A link via PM on this site? Or is it sent to the person's Steam email account? In any case, I'll buy a bundle from whoever is still selling one.

I'm still selling them for $1.09, and will deliver instantly ;)

It's delivered via whatever email address you give the seller, and the gift link can also be sent over PM.

I just noticed the Metacritic user score ES shows on the Speedball 2 HD (groupees crack) page is wrong. It's not 9, but 0.9 cuz I guess it doesn't handle scores < 1.

fucker's still got achievements though, so people will end up playing it anyways.

You rang?

Problem is I didn't buy the bundle yet. And since everyone only wants to pay $1 (which is reasonable), I'm not really interested in going in for $2, because there's no return on the extra $1 I'd be spending. Nevermind all the time put into doing orders.

I can't imagine too many people here bought the bundle at $2 either. Hopefully someone'll come out of the woodwork or just bite the bullet and go in for $2.
I bought it for $2 as I wanted the upper tier keys to give to a friend and the ebook looked interesting. If I hadn't been camping in the mountains, I would have have helped out. (Of course, if I hadn't been camping, I would have waited to see if Dollar Days happened instead of buying early.)

Just paid $4 for Be Mine 13 yesterday.

Man, fuck Groupees!

(Should've pulled a Gilby and "forget" to buy the bundle and bet on a dollar day)
I wish I had Gilbyed this one. Again with this one, I bought at full price before heading into the mountains.

Oil Blue is quite decent if you like unique games. If you're a client whore you can always try to beg Chubigans (the dev) for a Desura key.

*Edited to add: I kind of want Agon but no Desura and no Greenlight is pretty poopee.
