Nah. Royale's been a corpse for a while and I remember some of us actually grabbing everything we could thinking it would shut down at any moment. I meant Groupees. This, the ShinyLoot keys expiring and them not giving a damn, their issues with keeping files around... I dunno. I'm going to start backing up stuff soonish.
They're not done milking preorders/limited bundles yet, it'll take a while for that to happen so I wouldn't start worrying now. They'll probably go out of business within 2 years though.

I'm not sure if the Shiny Loot keys are Groupees fault, there may not be anyone at Shiny Loot responding to emails right now. I know the Caveman Craig dev is trying to get keys up on Shiny Loot and it hasn't happened yet.

The only bundle that the partner really did require to be limited was probably the JastUSA bundle, because $8 for School Days (which is a high profile VN) was a steal. The rest seem like BS and all of these Groupees shenanigans are starting to piss me off. They're completely relying on duping their customers into buying into their gimmicks now and their bundles have lost almost all quality control. I think I'm turning into Motoki. I would hope Groupees goes out of business if I didn't have so much invested into their greenlight bundles lol
They've always relied on duping people into buying their crap, it's just that the new trick isn't very good.

It's kind of funny seeing them fail to grab out attention, this must be how the Roadrunner feels while watching the Coyote.

I think they're just being scheisty. Poopees gonna Poopee.

It's just that they are getting more desperate because their sales keep going down so they keep ramping up how many bundles they do, not really considering that they're cannibalizing their own sales (DUH) and they're trying more flim flam tactics. Like shit they used to call Gala out for and worse.

They've been dipping their toe in some of it for a while they've just gotten more brazen lately.

At this point it seems like they're just done [customspoiler=Keeping Up Appearances]
barV75h.png
[/customspoiler] because their reputation is shot thanks to all the greenlight and other scheisse games and they know if they make any extra effort it's really not going to translate to much more sales at this point.

It's just as much as they can for as little effort and 'we can't check every any game'. They've got at least a couple of thousand people who blind order no matter what so why make an effort?

That being said, it also wouldn't shock me if Jonny just eventually gets bored or tired of it and leaves the idiot underlings IndieRoyale'ed out of their accounts.

I think it's been pretty clear ever since that hard drive incident a long ass time ago if there's anything hosted on Poopees servers you care about you better back that shit up. Not sure why anyone would suddenly worry about it now like it's a new thing.

I don't think there's anything I need to back up on Groupees. I guess there are some desura/itch.io keys that I might not have redeemed but that's about it. No one cares about music except for gilby/Booby/Foxhack.

I've got one of those $1 Groupees coins (though it's showing it's worth $1.62 at the moment).  Should I just go ahead and use it, or does anyone think it might go significantly higher?  I haven't really been tracking how quickly the value's been going up (or if it's even going to keep going up).

I guess I might download all those stupid comics for convenience but I'm not worried. If theres another hard drive failure, they can just get the digital comics again from the publisher. Also I'm absolutely confident that Dynamite would provide a solution for bundle buyers if somehow Groupees closes down so its not a big deal.

It's been about this price for the better part of a week now. Maybe even two. I don't really know how they determine the value since they're still a private company (right?) but the value will go down if they decide to throw them into bad bundles as incentives like they did before. I say hold onto them until it seems like the market is going to be saturated, then use them.

So the slow moving BM managed to toot out the Mad Squad bonus (which looks kinda cool, everyone make sure you voted it up on Greenlight) and the final bonus, which we may or may not reach, is more music. So who cares anyways?

25 minutes later and the Mad Squad game has been Greenlit.

Good work fellas, I of course take all the credit for my motivational work.

My work here is done.

At this point I think Valve should just put Poopees in charge of Greenlight because no one goes there to vote on anything otherwise and all the other bundle sites have pretty much given up on the Greenlight bundles because the quality just isn't there anymore.

And I'm not even talking game of the year here, I'm talking doesn't even meet Indie Gala and Daily Indie Game's standards of quality.

Case in point: Gabe Newell Simulator was just greenlit. It looks like it uses stock FPS maker assets and is about shooting things rather than managing a successful game company/PC gaming medium and not making Half-Life 3.

Of course Poopees gets another bump on Reddit for this. And they'll get yet another one whenever the hell they get that mystery game added.

And an ending soon bump.

And a Cyanic-is-drinking-a-coke,-hey-the-BM-bundle-is-still-active bump

And it doesn't involve eating so it's obviously fake.

I don't understand why people make new threads for that shit. It's not like they're getting paid by Groupees so why bother? All it does is encourage them to make bad bundles.

Looks like the Two Steps Back dev may have breached the Groupees contract.

Find it interesting that Two Steps Back is also in the new IG bundle today

I'm assuming that others know it already like you do, Brendon?

yeah we talked about it in just chat

Works out well for me, it's the only game I wanted from the mini bundle. Sucks for Groupees though.

There's a new Remute bundle up for pre-order with 23 hours to go until live: The Psychic Pixel Party Bundle

6 games, 4 albums, 1 Steam movie for $1.

It's sad that this Remute is the most promising bundle they've published in about a month...

Since everyone's buying it and it costs a whole two quarters for 3 copies watch this be the movie.

Hi! I'm the developer of Two Steps Back and I discussed with Groupees that I already had IG bundle scheduled, and that I'd be willing to participate in a different bundle that didn't happen at the same time, but they said themselves that it was fine, and the contract was altered. So there is no breach of contract happening! Thank you for your continued support!

So Groupees doesn't even care about their own contracts, and change them if you request it just so they can get a game that will be repeated in a better bundle a few days after.

Of course!

I also like how the chat people go spreading lies about the developers when they haven't even seen the contracts.

I don't know if Cyanic contributed this time around, but I've definitely seen him fanning their flames before about devs supposedly breaking contracts and crap like that. Thing is, he's been wrong, misinformed out flat out lied about stuff in the past like devs insisting on how much they charge, how many bundles they sell, how long the bundle can run etc.

Sometimes he even says stuff like 'I think the developer requested this' etc so really he isn't even in the loop and he's just spouting off BS.

Of course the AOL 90s chat fools are certainly happy to get worked up and any perceived slight of their dear Poopees and the facts be damned!

For a buck?

I'd pay $1 for an IG Happy Hour if it had Sword of the Samurai, Subterrarium, Hypercronius, an extra copy of Synonymy and a bunch of repeats, I think. I wouldn't pay IG Monday prices. I wouldn't pay Bundlestars prices.

I'm only really interested in Hypercronius, but as far as I can tell it isn't even on greenlight, so I'll pass.
I looked also and you're right that it does not seem to be on there.

But hey they will probably give an itch.io key.

I don't get devs who don't put their stuff on Greenlight. It's not like you even have to make an effort anymore. Especially if you're in a bundle.

I'm with the Gilbster on this one. To my amazement, I'm actually interested in several of these games and I'd probably watch that movie too.

EDIT: Of course, there will be terrible Remute music too. :shame:

Probably only one album. Previous Remute bundles have had some decent music by artist not named Remute. He seems to be able to recognize decent music, so that's not his excuse for what he produces.

I'm buying because:

I've heard the money goes to a charity for buying Remute a new Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man because he "sat" on the last one in the tub and well..ahem....
