Growlanser Generations: Deluxe Edition 66.99 shipped at mtv.com

On the MTV page they recommend/bundle Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne for the lowest price I can find online too ($45.93). Might be people interested in that as well.

Edited for price

Wow and I thought I got a good deal when I got it for $72 shipped from the sale a few weeks ago. Nice find!

Do not buy this from mtv.com! It will be damaged when it is shipped. This has happened to me 3 times. I'm getting my money refunded and ordering from WD directly. You've been warned.

Yeah I know, I work at one of those shipping places where these temp workers toss boxes like crazy and willing to dent boxes in order to build walls to hold boxes back in the trucks. After that experiance, I don't think I am willing to order big box items delivered through the US postal Service again.

I'm going this route-- Phantom Dust + $20 rebate = Growlanser and Phantom Dust for $59!

I thought MTV.com had this price a while back, before Growlanser Generations was released. Did people who got in on that deal ever received their stuff?

I did and when I recived it the discs wouldnt work in my PS2 so I returned it and they sent another copy which got damaged in the mail. I sent it right back and received another copy which again was damaged in the mail. I ended up getting my money refunded and made $15 since they refunded me for $75 when I only paid $60.

I bought Halo 2 LE pre-order back when they had this deal. The metal case is all messed up, but otherwise it was worth the discount to me.

Your math is fucked. You still have to pay for Phantom Dust.

I'm tempted, but is MTV.com really that bad?

No clue but I got in on that $60 Growlanser deal they had during the summer and received mine in perfect shape.

look a few topics up buddy...you get a $20 rebate if you preorder phantom dust(which costs $20.) edit: oh yeah, my "equation" isn't written out perfectly, who cares?

Well, I just paid 30 or so for my regular edition. Ah well. What does the Delux Edition have? I assume a soundtrack, but surely there's more to it. A hardbound instruction manual or something? Maybe another pendant :p

Same here. I got mine in great condition. No issues whatsoever...

a watch, deck of cards, chain, ring, pouch, nice instruction book, soundtrack...basically a whole bunch of useless crap only a collector would want. :p

I'm pretty sure the regular edition has the same instruction manual. Don't forget the box and foam padding! Anyway, the deck of cards is low quality. The only real reason to get the deluxe version is for the soundtrack if you like the music.

Where did you get it for $30? Was there a deal on it that I missed?

no way man that foam padding is heaven. i like to burn it and inhale the vapors. they use extra low grade padding which uses more toxic chemicals and is known to cause cancer in the state of california, thus you get stupid for, like, 3 weeks straight.

you got to inhale the vapors to become stupid in california? I thought the educational system did that for you free of charge?

Mine was perfect too, but I guess YMMV about condition.

Where does it say that shipping is included with this price? Just curious because I never ordered thru MTV.com before but I think I'm going to for this deal.

I was wrong, it was actually around 35. I got it used at ebgames.com, but it doesn't look like there are any in stock right now.

Ah, okay. I was hoping somewhere was selling it new for $30. Thanks for letting me know.

Just to chime in, I got my friend to order GG several weeks ago and it arrived in perfect condition. I've ordered a ton of stuff from MTV and got them all very fast and in perfect condition.
expensive overhyped game.. ill pass
Overhyped? Outside of a couple 1 page ads and single column reviews, I don't think I've seen any hype for this game...

Overhyped? I didn't even know this game was out until a few weeks ago.

I am not a old-school fanboy by any stretch of the imaginaton. In fact, I hate most old school RPGs. Now that I've said this, Growlanser is fucking awesome! It has 2 full length games and they are great. Worth every penny for the regular version. I don't know about the deluxe version though.

There is no way this game was overhyped. It had a scant few ads in some less popular magazines, and it's constant delays prevented even EB and GS from posting it's arrival on the front pages.
That said, it deserves to be overhyped, because it's pretty good.
It offers variable objectives in battles, keeping them interesting. If you feel like you're battling without strategy in a Nippon Ichi game, this is the cure.

Wow, I didn't know that OPSM and EGM were less popular magazines...

Thanks for the tip! Any idea how the free shipping thru MTV.com works though? Will it just show up as free when I place my order?

I got mine in the mail today. One of the corners of the box was slightly crumpled, but no biggie. The shipping was free but I had to pay sales tax. :( Anyway, it was still a great deal...oops I think I just drooled on it...

Same thing happened on the second copy that was shipped to me. I think this is unacceptable personally and I am getting my money back and ordering from WD directly. fuck you mtv.com
