stopped at a new GS, they had pretty much everything listed and in multiple quantities.

Picked the only thing i was really interested in - Popolocrois.
They happened to have 2 Tekken 5 arcade sticks so bought those too.
 
Anyone think Quake 4 is worth 15? And Should I pick up the 10 buck nyko battery and cable or get the power charger combo off of amazon (cable, 2 batterys, and wall charger) ?
 
Ended up selling in my gamecube that has been collecting dust for awhile. Got a better deal from ebgames than I would have from selling it on ebay.

$40 after the $20 promo for the gamecube which i then went and bought a Helio heat phone which was marked down to $75 and it came with a free $50 giftcard.

So I went into the store with a gamecube and walked out with a new phone and a $50 giftcard and only spent $35 out of pocket :)

I would say no as far as Quake 4 goes. None of the X360 games for this sale look that attractive to me (unless you love mechs and Sega so Chromehounds is up your alley). I've hear way too many "this game really sucks" views on it.....just wait until it's below $10 to get it.

well done, you could even sell the gift card and come out with some money.

I would agree with that I have had probably like 4 madcatz controllers and they have all gone bad after some time playing with them, but hey I just game them to people i didn't know at halo lans to play with :whistle2:$

thanks I wasn't sure if Quake was worth it since it got mixed reviews. (IGN gave it a 8 something, while gamespot gave it a 6 something lol)

Any buddy think the nyko power charger is worth it or should i spend the extra for the nyko charge station which comes with 2 batterys and the wall charger for only 26 on amazon with free shipping.
 
Picked up Outrun 2 2006 for the PSP. I would have preferred to get it for PS2 or XBox but I didn't want to pay more than $10 since I have Outrun 2 for XBox already and the console versions never dropped so I was glad to get it for $9.99

Am I the only one to not have any pressing wants in this sale? Yeah, some decent prices (down from retail to about Ebay prices, I'd say), but nothing really jumps out at me as a must have or must spend money on.
 
i just got back from my local gamestop. they had the bins much like everyone was saying. i found the 360 stuff and all they had in there was 10 copies of condemned and one copy of chromehounds. i went back to the new games wall and found a copy of fear and quake 4 and took it to the register and the employee was being dumb saying if it wasn't in the bin it wasn't part of the sale. they both rang up the with the sales price and i laughed.

moral of the story, even if its not in the bin but its on the list, its for sale.

I would not recommend it. It's not horrible (except for the motorcycle levels) and the IGN review is just wrong. The Gamespot review is pretty accurate.

I found that it was not terribly fun or involving, and disliked the respawning enemies and backtracking. I meant to go back to it at some point, and traded it in instead.

Actually, there was another company out there at one time called Interact, which made some decent third party peripherals. But, I think they went belly up. I still have a PS1/PS2 controller from them with TURBO on it which was like an extension of my hands once I got playing. It has these notches cut out on the bottom, which your fingers fit right in and has concave/indented(I think that's the right term) analog sticks.

It made for easy thumb control on even racing games.

I think I currently have a Pelican brand third party for my Xbox and it's great, but yeah, I've had some problems with Mad Catz stuff before. Steer clear at all costs.

And, I grabbed the ONE game I truly wanted from this sale(Hunter The Reckoning Redeemer for Xbox), but Viewmont Mall in Dickson City still had assloads of most everything else left.

It would be an okay deal, but I think you could do better.. I would check into something with a rebate. I got mine for 5 after rebate, although that was with GCO which is not going on anymore.
 
Picked up Dynasty Warriors 5 for $25...I waited after it came out for a price drop, but instead of dropping in price, the game became really hard to find! Best price on a new copy I've seen, since I missed out on the GameCrazy deal.

Also Counter-Strike for $5. Not a great game on xbox since it's for offline only, but it's fun to space out and play.

Is RPG Maker 3 any good? Any better than 1/2?
 
the Wii memory card doesn't seem like a good deal. considering it's all but useless for the system right now.
 
I stopped by EB and bought Rise of Nations for $5.35 total. Contrary to the website, they had zero copies of StarCraft in stock. I doubt the supposed 4+ copies sold out right after opening (when I showed up). Thankfully I ordered mine online
 
I scored some great deals today. Got Diablo II for PC brand new for just ten beans, and even got two PSOne games for 75% off. Scored Parasite Eve for only $3.25 and V-Tennis, an ultra rare Playstation game that no one but collectors have heard of for only 75 cents. Never thought I would actually ever find V-Tennis, but lo and behold, I have it here next to me now :cool:
 
i went this morning around 10:15. They had at least two copies of everything. I was able to grab outrun and poplocrois for the psp. Wasnt really interested in anything else. Wouldnt have known about this sale if it wasnt for this site. God i love cheapassgamer.
 
I went to a couple different stores and got everything I wanted. Surprisingly, the games were still sealed (a first for GS) and sitting in the bins. An employee was hanging out by the door (probably to keep anyone from running out of the store with the still-sealed games). I noticed that Shattered Union seemed to be the hardest title to find as both stores appeared to only get one copy in.

I picked up:
Shattered Union (XB) - $17.50
RPG Maker 3 (PS2) - $14.99
Armored Core: Last Raven (PS2) - $14.99
KOF 2006 (PS2) - $14.99
The Sims 2: Pets (GC) - $13.50

I then went next door to Sears and found a DDR Mario Mix for $49.99. And to think I had recently given up on seeing that one in the wild anymore!

You're right. I meant to say, "I bought it for offline play only." I wonder if there are still people who play it on xbox live...I might pick up another copy and try system link instead.
 
Well today I got really lucky.

I got the King's Quest Compilation for 9.99 (50% off)
I got the Harvest Moon for GC for 9.99 (50% off)

BUT........

Best of all the Wii 2gb SD Card that was 50% off (Should be 19.99 when checking out). Well the employee messed up and scanned the King's Quest PC game twice. So I got it for 9.99 instead of 19.99.

So I saved 75% on the SD Card instead of 50 because of the guy not paying attention. W00000000T! :)
 
Pretty good sale. I got Dynasty Warriors 5, Rumble Roses, Sonic DX, and Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks. They had a lot of copies of each. I almost got Final Fantasy XII too, but I figured it would go down in price soon enough. The sales associate almost exchanged the new copies I gave him for gutted (opened but "new") copies, but luckily, the other rep stopped him. Part of me wanted to back out of the purchase when the first guy started doing that.
 
If people are still interested, I just called up my local EB to ask about trade-in prices.
PS2 (fat) is apparently 35
and Gamecube is 20.
So that'd be $55 and $40 with the promotion. Not too shabby.

I don't think FFXII CE is going down in price lower than $30, if the normal version is going to be $20 as GH later.
 
Traded in a bunch of old crap (and Super Paper Mario), and got 73 bucks in credit with the trade 5, get 30% extra promotion. Picked up Starcraft, FEAR, Condemned, and Earth Defense Force, all new, for 20 bucks out of pocket. Score. :D
 
Picked up 2 copies of Eragon 360 16 each a usb card reader / hub 10$ and SpiderMan new cartoon umd 5$. Interesting note about Eragon is they had the box marked as 60% off, but it range up as 50% off. I had them manually fix it, but the story was that the manufacturer dropped the price after the % off list went out and the sale price was actually only supposed to be 20$. I then traded Eragon into FYE for 26$ + an extra 10% because of my backstage pass card. So any easy quick 10$ profit. The second copy is going to the wherehouse (same trade in value), between this and the recent 10$ Tony hawk 8 I've built up a nice little nest egg ready for the next 25% off used sale they have :)
 
Picked up three UMD's, The replacment killers, Young guns and Ultimate avengers. Shipped free to boot. Only down side is my credit card is about to explode. God I love this site! Thanks Spoony.
 
Well, after scanning the 5 most recent pages I see that no one else had the same experience as I did. I took in my Gameboy Advance SP for the 20 dollar extra credit and got shot down. The ad is misleading but within the company hand-out it specifies that the only portable systems they give the bonus money on is the DS and PSP.

Still scored some good deals, I just thought I'd be getting fortyish bucks to help cover the costs, oh well. If anyone wants to buy a complete, black GBA SP, for 30 bucks plus shipping, drop me a line.

Really? The ad on the website specifically states that the GBC and original GBA are excluded. The SP should be fair game. That's not cool.

That's how I read it too. I may try another GS on monday or something. I'm dying to know if anyone got their GS to take the SP for the additional twenty bucks.

There were probably 8 KOF 2006's at my local GS before I bought one.
