traded in an xbox slim 250gb today. base tiv $160. with 50% it came out to $240.

Was just wondering why you traded your 360?

I think Gamestop turns on the PS3 and check to see the size and if its working. You should be alright swap out the drives, but how much of a difference in price for hard drive trade in? You probably better off keeping the 320GB and use it for something else.
gamestop guy asked me the same question. i have too many 360s in my house and they are offering a decent deal for xbox slim 250gb so i decided to trade it in and keep my mw2 jasper console instead.

Confirming :360: COD Black Ops is $30 base, $48 after 50% + 10% bonuses.

Edit: Just make sure you are purchasing any used game in the SAME TRANSACTION and the bonus should stack automatically, it would appear. The remaining balance does go onto your PowerUp card.

For anyone wondering, PowerUp "Birthday offer" is Double points for the whole month of your birthday. Kind of sad in a way because I did all my flipping last month, and my birthday was not until THIS month, and I have like nothing left to trade in/buy anymore. Rofl ;/

Same here lol. I was going to trade my Slim for a 250 GB with Kinect bundle but he started asking me numerous times that it's not a great deal to do that because it's 10 dollars cheaper to just get Kinect by itself... Considering how scratched my Slim is, and how much use I've gotten from it, I thought it would be well worth it to trade it in and get a new console. But he asked me, literally 5 or 6 times before I simply gave up and just didn't trade it in... I ended up trading my old 360 Elite (Jasper) with the hard drive, along with some games and just got Kinect anways - figured it would be fun to get my family involved.

Anyways, I still left happy since I didn't really pay anything out of pocket (30 dollars for four games from blockbuster and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood which I played the hell out of). I Also ended up buying Halo Reach Legendary Edition. I figured I'd unload AC Brotherhood before it dipped too low in TIV, besides, if I want to pick it up again, I just have to wait a couple months for it to drop under 20 smackers.
Yup. It's been confirmed by me and other CAGs.
 I see now there was much discussion of this over the last few days. I took a break from CAG over New Years. Last I had looked GoW III got $7. Now I see it was down to $4 then jumped to $10? That is just crazy. Oh well, hopefully that holds till I can get my 5 games traded in!
Traded in the following for the 50% bonus. Employee didn't use a promo book to scan code or whatever, the 50% bonus was automatic in the system only after the used game was scanned.

Base value as of today 1/3/11:

Nintendo Wii
New Super Mario Brothers $20.00
Super Mario Galaxy 2 $20.00

Xbox 360
Call of Duty Black ops $30 ($48 after 50% bonus and PUR)
Fable 3 $20.00

PS3
God of War III $10.00
Did trading in Black Ops count as your eligible 5 towards the $20 bonus? Or did you only get $10 instead?

So is it worth upgrading from a 2010 xbox elite Jasper to xbox slim?Anyone got any input?

i would say no, unless you are a hardcore techie who must have the latest and greatest stuff... the latest jasper, at least from my experience, seems pretty reliable and the xbox seems cool. the only thing that bothers me is that it is loud, but that can be drowned out by turning up your volume or using your turtlebeach or compariable headset.

you can say yes, if you connect to xbox live through a wireless adapter, but there are other better alternatives imo. i would buy a wireless bridge or a compatible router flashed with ddwrt so that you can hook up to 4 devices into it instead of a microsoft or other wireless adapter just for the xbox. it is also probably likely you will end up getting an adapter for every other device in that room anyways so it is cheaper to get a wireless bridge or router with dd-wrt.

if i had a jasper arcade i would consider going to the xbox slim 250gb for the hdd storage and other updates; but if you already have a jasper elite, i don't see many reasons to make it worth it.

Nintendo DSi hardware (excellent condition): $50 base value; $75 with 50% bonus

I was hoping to get ~$95-100 out of it, so I kept it. :(

Anyone know the TIVs of:

360 console
wireless 360 controller
wired 360 controller
360 headset

I've got a few GS gift cards and I'd like to get a new 250GB Xbox Slim without going out of pocket by too much...

cmon man the time it took you to ask the question you could've looked it up on the first page.

I plan on trading in my DSI XL to take advantage of the 50% hardware trade-in promo, but was wondering if they require anything with the DSI such as the stylus or is it just the unit itself? Thanks a lot.

Nintendo DS/DSLite/DSi: Handheld, A/C Adapter, Stylus
cmon man the time it took you to ask the question you could've looked it up on the first page.
yeah - I didn't see the hardware list at first. Anyway, it looks like I can put together about $85 worth of TIV for everything + the 50% bonus would get me to $122.50 + the giftcards gets me to almost $200 which still leaves $100 for me to make up the difference to get the 250GB console. or I could just buy a 250GB hard drive separately.... hmmm.... what to do what to do...

I know your pain. I bought a bunch of stuff for Christmas presents and sold a bunch of games to get them last month. This month is my birth month, and I'm all spent out.

no hdd? you will get about $100 for all that based on TIV and 50% bonus; balance of $200+. i would get a 250gb for $70.

I've got 2 consoles to trade in but you are right - it probably makes more economic sense to just buy a 250HDD for my current console.

here are some TiV I had looked up today 1/4/11

:ds: Marvel Super Hero Squad $6
:ps3: Bayonetta $4
:ps3: Rogue Warrior $3

:ds: America's Test Kitchen $2
:wii: No More Heroes $2

Thanks for the feedback. Does anyone know any wireless routers that is good for the 360? I have a router in the Basement, but my 360 is upstairs (3 level town home) . I want a wireless router that is DD-WRT. Anyone have issues with Lag when online? Is the xbox 360 adapter any better?

You might luck out and have a nearby Gamestop with a used old-style 250GB HDD. Your store that you go to can look up the 10 closest locations that would of had it at the start of the day.

you probably want to get something that is "N". look at dd-wrt's site to see which routers are compatible or not.

http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index

i actually didn't go the router route. i went and got a dlink wireless bridge model dap-1522; it is a pain in the ass to set up if you are noob to networking.

Three stories is a bit tough. Any reason you couldn't just use a wired connection?

i have no idea why it is quoting like that, but that is not me. anyways, wired is best but i am using a wireless bridge because i am too busy/lazy at the moment to run network cables through my house and into my bedroom on the second floor. My router/modem is on the first floor.

as for the guy who you quoted, i find that kind of odd. usually most newer town homes that are three stories are usually wired for networking since they were built recently.

It is wired for Networking. I just didnt want to run a long wire up the stairs to the xbox. (Basement up to the main floor, then up to the bedroom, which is long and messy)
I tried calling my Gamestop to get some TIV's, was told they're not allowed to do that over the phone anymore? Can anyone comment on this?
Apparently in California they're not allowed to anymore.

Or if they have a bunch of customers in line at the register they might not have time to look up TIV's. But if you live in CA, it's apparently against the law now because of an extension to the state's pawn laws.

They dont want to probably cause they are lazy and want you to bring it into the store to rip you off. I remember last year, I took my 360 to Gamestop and they said it was too load (Due to fan) and he offer me $20. So I left and took it down the street (15 mins away) and they gave me $85 before bonus.

Interesting return on the headset. I was told at my Gamestop that they did not take Xbox 360 headsets for trade. I wonder if it is an Ohio thing, legally or otherwise?

Is the extra $10 on 3 games stacking with the extra 50% (and extra 10% for PowerUp cards)?

I always thought they offered whatever paid you more, not both.

They probably will unless its a new associate.

This normally boils down to either a store manager or district manager deciding they don't want to take anymore because they have too many or they don't want to deal with the high rate of defectives.
