Being able to score a sealed, brand-spankin' new copy of GT4 for free (pre-tax) after trading in all 3 games ............... PRICELESS!!!
Ok, a few details left out. I'd say it really depends on the cashier you're dealing with. The cashier at BB told me that only one coupon is allowed per item per household. After a couple of awkward moments, he bailed me out by offering to make 3 different transactions, one game and coupon per transaction. He was pretty cool about it. I wonder if he's a CAG member and knew what I was doing? If you are, and you're reading this, thanks dude! You're the best! Anyway, what was weird too is that the coupon didn't work with VF4: Evo, so I went back and brought back Starsky and Hutch instead. If that didn't work, they still have Rocky, Midway Arcade Treasures, and Bad Boys (if my memory serves me right). Quite a few contingencies, I might say. Too bad they didn't any have Psi Ops. Still, it was a good deal overall.
When I went to EB Games, the clerk there didn't even know about the promo. He was even wearing a GT4 badge and didn't know the promo. He started talking about how it's an old game, they had a promo back then, but not now, etc. etc. Sounds like I was the first person to ask him about this promo. When he rang up the 3 games, the total credit was barely $5 total. He was prolly thinking that I had no clue whatsoever or something. Anyway, after a few minutes of talking with him, I finally coaxed him into scanning the 3 games I was gonna trade in, then the GT4 box, all in one ticket. Lo and behold, the trade-in values of each of the 3 games climbed all the way up to 11.66 each, GT4's price went down to 34.99, promo # 3840 showed up, and all I have to pay was the 2.71 in sales tax. I thought I noticed that he was surprised (shocked, dumbfounded, flabbergasted, whatever you may wanna call it) that there was such a promo. I didn't have any cash, so I asked him if I could use my credit card to pay (for a 2.71 transaction!!!). I thought he had the look of resignation in him when he said "you can pay with whatever you want." Anyway, he was pretty cool in the end. When he was getting the copy, it looked like he was going for the one with the least scratches. Maybe he remembered me from last time, when I asked for a sealed copy of NGC Paper Mario when they were selling it for 19.99.
Thanks to all the people that posted in this thread. You guys rock!
