Don't know if it's been posted before but... there it is! I really wanna pick one up, but I don't know if I wanna pay 60 bucks any game.

Anybody have a songlist from the game?

UPDATE: So I went and picked it up, and this game is SO awesome! It even comes with stickers to customize the guitar controller! I can't wait for a sequel.

Like the others, I was unsuccessful getting them to take the PM and the $10 coupon. My cashier was wavering so I was really putting the pressure on her, but she said it's either or, so I took the PM since it's 50 cents less. Oh well, the game kicks ass so far and is easily worth $60.
 
It can be done - I got the only local Best Buy with Guitar Hero still in stock to price match their website and use the coupon. The CSR had to manually override it, and accidentally gave me 10% off instead of $10 off though. So I saved $10.50 with the website price match and $5.94 with the coupon, bringing the before tax total to $53.53. Rather than argue the point, I took the discount and ran.

I spoke w/ the manager (on the sales floor) of electronics this morning, and explained this to him: I tried to order online w/ in-store pickup, but the BB I go to was listed as "unavailable." I politely asked him if they'd honor that price, and he agreed.

The sales clerk rang the item up as "incorrect price," and gave it to me for $59.99 (I wasn't going to complain about $0.53, after tax, if that takes away any CAG points I'd accumulated ;)).

I did so at the Florence, KY BB, which now has one more copy left. The sales manager told me he had to ship **7** of them to a Cincinnati-area store b/c a woman who bought it for her child thought the game was so cool decided to give them en masse to her neices and nephews. So, all of you who are looking forward to cable-knit sweaters with sequined chirstmas trees on them from your relatives, you can certainly be jealous of this woman's kinfolk.

Side story; I was totally late to work today after jamming out on "I Love Rock N' Roll" and "I Wanna Be Sedated." Holy living fuck this game is incredible!

cowboys from hell, cowboys from hell, now all we need is to add blood line by slayer, roots by sepultura, clown by korn, 7 words by deftones, and some under ground like between the buried and me, as i lay dying, and darkest hour and dillinger escape plan.
 
So I really only recognize maybe two or three songs on the playlist, would I still enjoy the game? Or is that pretty much dictated by the gameplay?

I sure as hell hope so, and expect that to be the case. With the popularity of the various Bemani games and the peripherals they use, Sony would be foolish to make like Microsoft at this point (there is no way to connect Xbox peripherals to the 360).
 
I ordered this online today as there's no BB close enough to make a trip worth it, and I just now got notice that it's backordered. *SIGH*

No luck with the $10 off $29.99 coupon or the $5 GGC coupon; had to settle with a price match from their website. $59.49 is still pretty good: you get both the game and the cool-as-hell guitar accessory (better than a bonus DVD for the price, in my book). Heck, even EB and Gamestop are charging $79.99 for the same bundle. It's too good of a price to pass up.

I've been looking for Guitar Hero in my part of the world, around San Jose in the SF Bay Area, and every place has been sold out. However, this morning I saw that Best Buy's web site reported stores having it in stock.

I was able to get GH from Best Buy, price matching the online $59.49, but they would not take the "$10 off of $29.99" coupon I had (original, not a copy), because of the price match.

When I left the store still had 5 copies of GH left. I hope this helps someone find and get GH -- if you have been looking, try again, you may get lucky like me!

Is this in store?

I bought Guitar Hero about 3 weeks ago from a B&M Best buy store. Can I get a price adjustment even if it is not in store and online only?
 
my local BB got some in stock, so tonight I bought it.

I printed out the price from their web-site & was also able to use a $10.00 off coupon. ymuuy!
 
I've been reading about Guitar Hero, and the high review scores as well as my interest to this game helped me decide to place my order for in-store pickup. Hopefully there will be at least one in stock.

Stopped by a local Best Buy and saw a bunch on the floor. Asked the guy how much it was and he said they were $69.99 for the bundle. I pointed oout they were $59.99 on their site, so we wander over to their computer.

Pull up their page, type in "Guitar Hero" and it comes up...$69.99. It still comes up as $59.99 when I do my own search here though. I don't know if they just have a different site they go to or what, but the sale price didn't show.

Went ahead and ordered at home for pick up.

I read an interview with one of the guys that made it (in the newest PLAY mag I think) and he said that they wanted "back in black" but they have to ask the permission of all the bands and AC\DC never got back to them. Infact they're were a ton of other songs they wanted to use (one of them he said was Weezer's "dope Nose") but the bads just never got back to them cause they really didn't know what this was. He said that hopefully if Guitar hero sales well they can get more of the songs they originally wanted.

Hmm. The exact same thing happened to me when I went BB Monday to buy Guitar Hero. I told them it was $59.49 on the site but he looked it up and it said $69.99. He told me he would have priced matched for me but it looked like the deal was over.

Got to use the $10 Off coupon though. Still, would have been nice to score it for $50...
 
I had this in a mail this week. It says "no copies" but anyway I scanned it an you can try to use it B&M tomorrow.

 
I ordered this on 12/01 off BB.com using BBB as a payment. I got the backorder email like most people. I called by local bestbuy tonight and they said that they got a shipment in, but they were selling quick. So I called 888-bestbuy and was able to change my online order to an instore pickup. I am going to grab it on Tuesday or Wednesday, I can't wait to play it!
 
cool, i just placed an in store pick up order, $63 and change. i'm buying so many games i'm going to be hard pressed to make good on my part of tuition next semester. i think i'll survive though.
 
I was out at the Best Buy in Schaumburg, IL tonight. It looks like they just got a new shipment of GH in stock - they had about 10 of them at 10:30pm. I walked up to Customer Service and asked if they would price match their website - CSR said no problem. After she rang it up, I was like "Can I use a coupon too?" And again she said no problem. So I managed to pick up a second copy of GH - both times got a website price match and used the coupon. First one $53.53 (took 10% instead of $10 off) and second one $49.98 before tax.

The trick is to just be really friendly, play a little dumb, and get a good CSR.
 
I got in on this - didn't bother trying to use the coupon since I was contempt w/ the price of the online deal. Since I live in Tx, Taxes almost equaled as much as shipping would have cost, but still came out cheaper... CSR had me a little worried as she walked by the counter 3 or 4 times w/ my print out and still no GH... She finally asked me what it was - She thought it was a DVD, then finally another CSR got done hepling a lady and pointed her to the right direction and she headed off to the PS2 section and came walking back w/ my glorious treasure between her waist and arm (she was cute too!)

Today is such a bad weather day, I'm eating a burger now and hope to play it soon!

Brownsville, Tx was the BB location a good 20 min drive on the freeway.
 
I played some of the game today at my BB and it is nothing short of amazing. Played some Franz Ferdinand and was instantly hooked! :D
 
Saw this at my best buy tonight. Want to pick this up for my brother for Christmas, but he's a lefty, so I'm not sure how this would work. Probably would be a pain to turn it upside down and I didn't see a left-handed model on the website...

It normally wouldnt be a problem, but he does play real guitar pretty regularly, so I think he would have a hard time adjusting to holding the thing right-handed.

Anyone else a lefty and trying to play this game?
 
Looks like it was raised to $69.99, now I'm extra happy for picking up Guitar Hero yesterday. I've only completed 10 songs so far, and right now this game is awesome.
 
Goddamit. First redoctane cancels their coupon, now BB raised price. If I wasn't strapped for cash I'd pick this up, lover of music games I be. :/
 
well you can still pick it up for $59.99 in store. basically what i'm doing, except i get an extra 50 cents off from the 15% off dealie. woot
 
beat the game in easy mode - it's pretty cool... I do have a couple minor problems. First problem isn't the games fault, but after playing for many hour my left hand hurts pretty bad... Since you use your left hand to push the buttons, and your left thumb and index finger are usually used, they're not used to all the work - or at least mine isn't, but I ignore the pain and continue on....

Secondly, the incubus cover on easy mode doesn't sound very good to me - all the others i've heard seem pretty accurate...

Finally that friggin queens of the stone age song has been the hardest one for me so far! I even had a cat in my lap for most of the other songs, which would freak out everytime I activated star power, and she'd nibble at my fingers and just be generally annoying as I played and I was able to pass all the songs, except that friggin QOTSA (I eventually did) and this was just on easy...

Great purchase - I recommend it :)
 
Just went to the Mira Mesa (San Diego) Best Buy after having no luck with the in-store pickup option (showed that the game was Sold Out) only to found about 10+ Guitar Hero boxes in a pile near a table where there were a bunch of PS2/Xbox accessories and coupons.
