if your aching for comprehensive storytelling, then why are you watching the trilogy instead of reading it? that's where the storytelling is...the stuff on video is a hollywood hack job for the most part.
As far as the dvd is concerned, why not just go in with friends and share the cost for the content. I'm sure some nice CAG will pass a DVD around for others to "use"...i know i will.
