Halo 3 - $4.99 AR! - F.Y.E.

CAGiversary!
At FYE stores, YMMV but it seems like it would be a chain-wide promo.

Pay $29.99 for Halo 3 and receive a $25 mail-in rebate in return, making the game $4.99!

Lowest total price on Froogle is $33.98 - grab them while you can!!

Just heads up, plenty were left (at least 6-7 copies) at the Portage, MI location.

All are marked and ring up at $39.99 at my location (Mall of America, Bloomington, MN). They do print out with a rebate form, though.
sounds like we missed the boat, I bet all stores are ringing up $39.99 now
$15 is still pretty good, but it would suck if the rebate check never came...
Why does this thread have a one star rating? Seems like an awesome deal if you don't mind waiting for a rebate check.
I agree, not sure why more people are not rating this thread higher.

A lot of people, myself included many times, forget or ignore the thread rating system. It is a helpful system that should be utilized more often.

Update: For whatever each person's individual reasoning two people rated this thread a 1 star and one person a 5 star, so it is now up to a 2 star now.

Reporting in from suburban Atlanta here: the FYE at Discover Mills had the sign up until I asked about it. The (less than confident) employees scratched their collective heads, then declared it 'must have just been a weekend thing' and took the sign down. The sign said it should ring up at 29.99, but as of Monday afternoon it was back to scanning at 39.99. Presumably the current 20-dollar rebate offer would print out with your receipt. Jumping from 5 to 20 seemed like too much to me, so I walked.

Went back & got a more knowledgeable employee to straighten things out for me. The dude yesterday apparently decided to manually take 50% off the original $39.99 price (thinking that was how the 50% off sale worked), which must have confused the system in that it printed off a rebate receipt but did not print a rebate form that would have given me the game for -$5.

So I did a return on it & the other game I bought, and he re-ran today's $39.99 price with a $10 adjustment to make it $29.99. The rebate for $25 printed along with the other stuff.

They were confused as to why I was coming back so I could pay $10 more up front, until they realized the rebate made the game $5. This store, needless to say, had not promoted the sale.

Gonna drop the rebate in the mail tonight; going on a business trip tomorrow, so this will get buried under who knows what if I let it sit.

Just wanted to let everyone know, the rebate form says the receipt must be dated 5/20-6/16. So, keep checking for a good price until then. Also, my sealed copy had the orange "Do Not Sell Until 9/25/07" sticker on it.

I went to the FYE in Colonie Center Mall in Albany, NY today and they had a few copies left marked as $4.99 AR, as well as the CE marked down to $9.99 AR. When I went to ring out the $4.99 standard edition, the one cashier said "Oh that was a weekend deal, but we never took the sticker off" and they gave it to me for $4.99! Big time YMMV, but if you're in the area, probably worth going for with no rebate!

FYE has to give you the price on the sticker. For example if you walk in and see the $29.99 on sale sticker and take it up to the register they have to give it to you for that price.
