Didn't they turn the matchmaking servers OFF until Tuesday? I think the servers are just going to be so bogged down with people trying to play this game this week.
 
Shitty to know all the disks will be scratched, maybe a replacement by bungie for a new one?
The one pics I saw looked pretty bad too. Shit. cCant wait
 
I might go the opposite way and get the legendary edition now because of the CE scratch issue. I'll be posting the cat helmet on ebay immediately since I want the cinematic/commentary discs but not that atrocity.

yep. sounds about right. single player should clock in right around 8 hours if you play it on normal.
 
As usual, it depends on player skill. With less FPS skill, firefights can drag out a bit longer and still be quite fun.

This makes me think that instead of having to find skulls to up the difficulty, they should have included some more difficulty variables up front for co-op.
 
Ok, before I make this next statement, I'd just like to mention that I haven't played Bioshock ( besides the demo ) but I have played a Halo game, so there is some bias against Bioshock I guess.

I really hate it when people say " Bioshock > Halo 3". Not becuase it's their opinion, there's nothing wrong with having an opinion. But it seems like it's because of the stigmas that go along with each game. Halo = overrated, uninnovative, bad story, above average bland shooter while Bioshock = underated, innovative (?) , great story, best FPS in the world ( besides system shock 2 ).

A lot of people seem to hate Halo 3 becuase of how huge it is getting ( walmarts have their own lines just for Halo 3 at the midnight launch ) and the fact that a lot of people like Halo, which gives them the right to rip it into total shreds and be as critically as they can be just so they don't like it.

Of course, none of this matters becuase eventually I'll have H3 and I'll be totally having fun, just thought I'd mention it as it was one of the most said things over on the Gamefaqs/ GS boards when refering to Bioshocks 9.0 and H3's 9.5.
 
Bioshock and halo are two completely different styles of games and comparing them serves no purpose, really.

The hate goes along with anything that becomes this popular. Theres always the people who feel like it's their duty to get on the soapbox and prevent all the ignorant masses from supporting something they feel is overrated. Yawn. Next predictable gaming stereotype, please.

That's how I feel, really. It's like comparing Pokemon to Persona 3 just becuase they're both RPGs.

Girl gamers who play Halo and Gears of war and say things like " yeah! you got owned by the chick!". And have that as their motto.

You know I'd almost welcome this. May be the only way I get through single player in the first week.

That's extremely disappointing to say the least.

I guess I'll probably hold off on buying for a while since I only like Halo for the campaign.
 
Nearly every review said that Easy and Normal are easier than previous games, while Heroic and Legendary are harder than previous games.

Basically if you play shooters, you need to play this game on at least Heroic.
 
Yeah, that was a co-op playthrough, and on normal. Heroic will take you closer to 12-15 if you take your time.
 
Anyone having issues using "Melee" attacks on multiplayer? For some reason they don't seem to register for me...I keep getting killed by "Melee" attacks and all I do is give people damage. I used to kick ass with melee attacks on the Beta but now I'm horrible at it. Any tips?

So where in SoCal did you get 'lucky' to get your hands on the game early on? I ask because I went the 7-11 route and pretty much every store (I went to 3) is clueless - Neither did they have GAME FUEL sodas in stock, nor did they hear anything about even selling the game @ LaunchTime / midnight let alone leak it early heh... just wondered what your sources were if you can elaborate.

Here's to hoping I can manage to get a legendary edition @ the Universal CityWalk launch event tonight despite not having a pre-order.

My friend (works at GS) had the same problem. He has the CE and he said the discs were out when he opened it, and one had a bad scratch.


Seen the LE out in the open at a local GS. The helmet is so cheaply made. It's basically a plastic helment, the plastic holder, and CE game. Glad I passed on it.

Not really, I recommend you play through the Campaign to get used to the controls and weapons, if you don't finish the game play a good hour or two, then jump on with a few friends, its a blast even if you suck like I do.

It does have an extra disc compared to the CE. But if I hadn't prepaid for it at $99 I probably wouldn't have gotten it either.

Can anyone tell me is the CE version worth the extra $10 or get regular edition? I can pickup the regular edition at any Gamespot or 7-11.

IDK, interesting, minigame?? theme sounds good and pics and the case. Would a calibration tool really matter??? Like im giong to put that in before putting in the game disc, LOL.
