Halo 3 - General Discussion & Info

Hm, maybe that means overkill/triple kill/steppin razor achievements will be alot easier...i hope! i want the overkill.

Edit: i actually read the post for it, looks like pulling off overkill will be easy to achieve if you have 3 people willing to help.

Looks like Dead Rising isn't the only game on my plate for tomorrow.

Though it is prioritized, as I just happen to be on the last mission and ready to beat DR my first time on Halloween!
I hope that they have swords...I want to get the triple kill sword achievement.
Won't be very easy (Unless this is a lame version of Zombies...), its hard enough to kill one "human" compared to the three in a row.

You have to admit, if its a 13 player infection game, ur odds are much better than a normal lone wolves match since its somewhat of a team game.

If anyone is trying to get achievements tomorrow around noon est or that night night after 6 pm EST, add me.
Played Halo 3 for like 10 mins today. Man O Man is the MP gameplay slow. It might of been that I have been playing TF2 for the past week or so.
I'm in the same boat, I'm usually a scout or a spy in TF2.

I really missed grenades though, maybe this will get me back into it for a couple of days

I believe I read that you can bring a party of four into the game. Meaning if there are swords and there are three other people who want to do this with you after four matches you might be able to get the 3 sword achievements. Send m an FR if you're interested.
I believe it ends at 3am, not starts, unless i'm reading that wrong... thus 27 hours (12-3)
It starts at 12:01 am PST. That means it does in fact start at 3am for those on the east coast.

Oh, okay, that sucks

Thanks for clearing it up.

Any possibility that the zombie mode gets turned into a regular social playlist? The games are really fun---kinda wish I had the option to jump into a full game at any time.

Q: Man, I love these gametypes is there any way I can get them?

Any time you play one of these variants in Matchmaking, they’re saved in your Recent Games queue (in the Custom Games lobby, go to select the game type—the Recent Games list is at the top.) They may also show up in the Bungie Favorites this week.

Right-- I just mean that, well-- actually being able to take advantage of the matchmaking once this little shindig is through.

In custom games yes, so if you have friends, you can play this new game mode with them all you want, even after halloween.

But if you just want to jump online by yourself and play your SOL. Bungie doesnt want you to be able to play whay you want, when you want. You can only play what they want, when they want.

Alright, yes, we know you hate the matchmaking system. You can stop shitting on it every chance you get. We get the point.

I will be back on Halo for this some time tomorrow. Only thing is I have a guy coming to fix my tv and I dont know when they are to be here. So it could be late that I get on.

Someone asked a question, I answered it. Your response to my post is completely pointless. Don't like my complaining? Put me on your ignore list.

I appreciate the answer. Logg and I were trying to see where we would go for this whole thing, but we didn't find any playlist as of yet. I guess its probably too early.
Which matchmaking lobby do I enter to get the Infection gametype? (Prolly a n00b question) ;)
Halloween lobby. It's up now.

Thanks. I had apparently been in too early. Giving it a go now.

Just played Creeping Death...it was really stupid. The invisibility basically made it so you had no idea wtf was going on, and once people started dying you really didn't have enough time to respawn.

Save One Bullet though, that was cool. It was neat seeing people picked off one by one, and it felt like you actually had a chance of surviving.

Just played a 13 player match of Save One Bullet, that was BADASS. Every game ended up with this swarm of insanity, it's great.

Can't wait to get home and try out the infection matches. Hopefully they'll add infection to a current playlist even if it doesn't show up very often....Then bring back SWAT. >_

This gametype kicks ass, I wonder why they don't make it a regular thing. Anyway, the only MP achievement I needed was "Steppin' Razor" triple kill with sword, my first Zombie game we start out with swords and I got the achievement within the first 10 seconds of the game! There was also a match where everyone started with lasers so I'm sure a lot of people will be able to score the achievements.

I haven't been able to get my last 4 ahievements yet (razor, laser, overkill, and 10 kills no die). I don't think its going to happen here, it is really chaotic.

Edit: How do you save the gametypes to your xbox so you can play them in custom?

I never really tried out any other gametypes other than what they had available for matchmaking in Halo 2 & 3 so I'm interested in these.

I will have to jump on and try the new games tonight when I get home. Didn't want to stay up til 3am EST last night so today will work.

Also, anyone want to run through Legendary Co-Op sometime? Let me know.

I believe that any custom game type you play at least once automatically gets saved onto your 360. It should show up under 'custom'.

So once you try this out it should be there always, so you can setup games of it with your friends long after Halloween is over.

Infection is already a custom gametype but outside of that you are able to edit them and save them as a new gametype outside of that. I don't remember specifics and I'm at work still, so I can't really check.

From the OP:
Q: Man, I love these gametypes is there any way I can get them?

Well I played a few games and its fairly underwhelming so far. There no special skin or changes to denote zombies other than they are the ones carrying around swords and hammers.

Oh and in one of the modes they are frakkin invisible! :bomb:

Nothing really Halloweeny about this.

I do like the forge changes to the maps, it looks like whoever lives there barricaded every doorway/entrace in preperation for a zombie attack! :D

Yeah, they shouldof given the infected flood skins or something. I also feel that this would be better if they left out invisibility infection (ie Creeping) and let us have a secondary weapon outside of the spartan. Granted it's nice to try and get the double laser achievement but it doesn't make the game very fun in my opinion.

Armor color is different.
Does it take anyone forever to find a match? I haven't found one yet.
Yes. I only got to play one game.

Damn, that sucks, guess everyone and their momma are trying to play this gametype. Last night at 12am PT I got in on 2 matches and it pretty damn quick.
