halo reach legendary $130-$140

im pretty sure everyone that got this is happy with the $20 promo cred they got with the preorder... and most ppl that would buy this this early preordered it. :)

so it begins..I love the line of how they didn't over manufacture these. Went to a BB yesterday, they had 20 units piled up in a tower and a shelf area with about another 15, still see them at every location I visit. What I also find strange is the MW2 Prestige is still holding strong at $150 there with plenty of stock.

If there's one thing Best Buy typically can't do worth a damn, it's drop a price.

Legendary Edition was worth the $130 I spent for it. I love Halo and even if these things go down to $10 I'll be happy.

Well I disagree, I paid $79 for the limited (with a $20 gc) and I feel like I was ripped off. I definitely could have held off, or bought the regular version.

What about that edition justifies that price point to you? My cousin has it, with the statue in his bedroom.

Unless it comes with something cool and useful like at the very least a skillet set with Master Cheif headed handles 100+ is really too much to pay for any single game.

Yeah...I don't remember where I bought Halo 3 LE online but when I did I paid 60 for it...So i'll take that as a way to keep myself from buying Reach until then...I have plenty of games to keep me busy until then.

I still see the Halo 3 Legendary Edition at some Fry's for $39.99. The made way too many for Reach too by the looks of it.

This will definitely take longer to drop in price than the Halo 3 helmet edition - the manufacturing of the statue costs a lot more to make. If the statue stays consistent with any other statue collectible in existence, price usually goes up not down. Speaking as someone that attends convention expos frequently just to hunt down certain statue collectibles. Though I can say the make of the statue doesnt really compare to like something from Kotobukiya or Sideshow Collectibles.

Also if you think about it this way: 60 for the game + 60 dollars for the statue is pretty much what you would pay if you bought both separately - without the statue inflating in price due to rarity/price gouging.

Yeah...my local best buy still has a mountain on the floor.

Good argument, I guess I'll cross my fingers and make a break for one when I'm ballsy...if not, I'll snag the regular edition at some point and move on. Ha.

Don't forget about the in-game flaming helmet that's included. I know a lot of the Halo-haters might laugh at that, but it's been a big deal for the fanboys...the codes have been going for $70-100 online since the release. If you don't care about the helmet code and sell it off, then you've got yourself a nice little collector's set for $60-80.

The crate is awesome and as soon as you open it a letter addressed to a fictional citizen is inside. It just felt like they put a lot of thought into what they wanted this package to be. The journal included int he limited edition is also great to read. I know most people dislike Halo because its popular but I've loved it every since I was younger. When you break it down to its simplest form its just about a dude shooting aliens ,but you can do that for just about any game so I never got the hate the game gets. Even if you hate it because of the fanbase that kinda makes you a douchebag for judging thousands of people just because they like something you don't.

In other words I love Halo so its worth $150.

That's what I did...bought the set at TRU and got a $40 GC, a free shirt, then sold the helmet/scout code for $90 on the bay. I didn't mind keeping the rest for $60, considering the game costs that alone, and the statue is hella nice!

I though these would be readily available after Launch. I actually preordered the Legendary Edition and sold the statue for $60 and the helmet code for $86.

It comes with the flaming helmet DLC... which has been selling for $70-100 EASILY on ebay, just for a code. JUST FOR THE CODE. its basically getting Halo reach Legendary for $30... DO IT... sell the statue and actually get the game for free and MAKE SOME MONEY!!

Its not just the flaming helmet its all the DLC code in the legendary edition.

For people who don't care about the statue, and the journal which are just clutter then its not a bad deal.

Do all the legendary editions come with the flaming helmet dlc?

I am considering getting this for the statue and could more than recoup my cost by selling the dlc and game ect.

yea they do. I've gotten two legendary editions and sold the codes for $80 each (68 or 70 after fee's) then sold the games.

You can easily make a profit selling every piece separate. But id do it asap cause the need for these codes will die down by people

You do know you're talking to someone who bought the game, right? There's no need to bust out the HALO DEFENSE FORCE.

still, though
bust out the HALO DEFENSE FORCE.
Halo made the Xbox what it is today! I know it was going to be an RTS Mac game but it's good, I swear! :bouncy:
wait what are these codes? LOL I have the legendary edition, what came in it?
Theres a card with the manuel in the Reach game disc.

I'll wait for a bigger price drop as well...I already blew my money on the limited edition. Is that flaming helmet dlc only for multiplayer?
wait what are these codes? LOL I have the legendary edition, what came in it?
They are on two cards tucked in the inside of the black game case where the game manual is....one card will have the recon helmet code...the other card will have all the legendary/limited edition codes
Got this from Amazon for $65 and the $20 code. Everything inside this edition is awesome.
$65? Did you pay shipping or something? I got it for $59.99, had free 2-day prime shipping from the free prime for students thing, then later they upgraded mine to free release day delivery, and of course I got the $20 code [which I used on the Alan Wake limited edition to get it for $19.99].

but ya, seeing threads like this really make us lucky "few" who got that deal feel that much more awesome, haha

So why don't u and joker go and get a room...coz u guys obviously have nothing to contribute and all you're doing is making people jealous.

I sold all the codes that came with the legendary edition and ended up only paying about $50 for it. Its worth $50 no doubt, especially when the regular edition is $60 by itself.

I did the same thing with the God of War III Ultimate edition and it ended up only costing me a few bucks. Cheap/free games > DLC codes.

I got the best deal of all, ordered it off microsoft expertzone(Retailer incentive site) for $65. And just sold the armor code on ebay for 65. The statue and the book are really nice i'm going to keep them. Worth the 150 if you are a halo fan. Not so much if you arn't.

i need to get that job at bestbuy to join this expert zone >.< haha

my friend goes on there sometimes but he didnt see it =\

It should out in the first day, along with the limited, but they got the limited back since than, not sure if its sold out now again though. They add stuff 12:00 PM PST on weekdays usually so thats a good time to check. I work at Verizon Wireless, but since they sell phones that have windows, and computers with windows I qualied, had to submit a paystub though so can't cheat it.

I ordered my copy through Microsoft Expert Zone (retail employees only) for $45 and I am eagerly waiting for it to ship.

I missed out on the first day when it was added to expertzone but was able to order it for $45 on Friday. Are you sure you paid $65? If you did, you got screwed.

Yeah because $65 is a terrible deal for a 150 dollar product... :nottalking:

for Expert Zone, must i prove that im employed? Or what if I did have a job at a verified store? Also for people that have knowledge of these code selling frenzy, do prices often plummet quickly?
Yeah because $65 is a terrible deal for a 150 dollar product... :nottalking:
This is not a $150 product. It's going to fall in price by at least $50 within a few weeks. They made waaaay too many of them (I'm going to return the one I bought from BB on day one since I haven't opened it yet)

No, because it was sold at $45 a few days later.

I am not so sure about that considering how much people are paying for that crazy code for the helmet on fire.

$50 within a few weeks? It sounds like you were thinking ebay all along considering that you are going to return it.

Maybe in a year my friend.
