Halo: Reach

Getting really tired of the accidental betrayal = boot. They really need to address this. I was the top player on my team and I got booted because some idiot ran in front of me when I threw a grenade.

Yes I can understand that situation wholeheartedly. The fact that my team was on the offense, with a CTF game, and I had currently stolen the flag while running back to our side of the map is the main point. Ok if I didn't have a flag and he shot me I can see you could be confused but with offense the only person who can carry the flag is the offensive team! Haha, I don't care what his excuse was he's just stupid. Btw after messaging back and forth after a while, why did I bother thinking about it now, I just blocked him from communicating with me since he clearly was getting really worked up about something that he'd be able to join again in a few minutes anyway.

I also love it when people get close to a dropship in Firefight during the time you call down an orbital bombardment. lol look out!

Yeah that's pretty funny. Reminds me of when I knew a guy was waiting for me in the room above the vent on Swordbase so I threw a grenade into it before I used the vent. Haha dead sword man ^^

Same thing happened to me. I was playing out of my mind just tearing up the other team and this dude runs right into my plasma grenade and boots me.

Also Re: firefight and sword elites...they only spawn sometimes on the final wave. It is random with Elites with Grav Hammers, Swords, and Fuel Rod cannons. I played the same map five times (waterfront)and only saw swords twice

Thank you. I thought it might be random, but I wasn't sure.
 
Its my understanding that 2 melee hits = death. Isnt this correct? Because i get frustrated when i die from 1 melee, or i melee someone twice and they dont die.

Oh and i was just in a multi team where i was blue or purple and i died because i didnt kill an enemy who was blue or purple. I couldnt tell, and he was too close for his tag or name to even appear. I really wish they would turn off friendly fire.
 
I don't understand why the matchmaking isn't divided into specific categories like in Halo 3. I'm tired of searching team slayer and being forced to play SWAT or Snipers. If people love SWAT, provide Team SWAT for them. If they want to play Snipers, Team Snipers. /rant

Hitting someone twice and not killing them is lag--you died before your second melee hit them, but it looked like you got them twice on your screen.

One hit deaths probably also lag, probably took some other damage you didn't see on your screen (or got meleed twice etc).

SWAT on Hemorrhage is being removed completely, as are the tanks in Hemo.

2 less things we have to deal with, though, to be honest, I've only played about 2 matches of SWAT on Hemo (The only multiplayer sessions I've been able to play since I got the game were 2 weekends at a bud's house) and I enjoyed both of em. I guess it was because I got some lucky Double/Triple kills, but it wasn't bad at all.

I'm glad Snipers and SWAT are getting their own playlists. It was a nice change of pace in the beginning, but when it's all that everyone picks it's just too much.

so today in Team Headhunter Pro, I played against this team who only used sprint to double melee people. They lost of course cause when it came up to a straight up DMR battle they didn't know what to do, but still is this a legit tactic or are people too lazy to even shoot anymore?

With shields, yes. Without shields, one melee will kill you.

Same here. I've played 2 of each on Hemorrhage and had fun on all of them. I was in a Team Sniper that was actually quite nerve-racking as we struggled to take the lead and keep it as time ran down. It's exciting matches like that that are the most enjoyable to me.
 
I give up on the sword daily challenge. I just played a match and the final guy was the dude with the sword. Other games i didnt even see one. Its not even worth the time. They really need to stop doing these dumb challenges where they know four players are going to be fighting each other over something.
 
I'm really itching to play. Glad that October update is coming out as well, addresses a lot of things that need to get fixed.

Really blows having to rely on going to a buds to play something online. Damn Cox Cable.

Some challenges are...indeed challenging and require teamwork and communication. The sword kill challenge while annoying for some, is causing players to actually play something other than scoreattack. Some player might find it near impossible to get to nickles in one match, others 5 sword kills in FF. It goes both ways.

as for friendly fire, it's a necessary evil. if you turn it off for anything but arena it'll be more nade spam and rocket fire at your general location without any remorse of course ppl will get booted, betrayed, and die but it's a FPS game. imo they shouldn't even turn friendly fire off on FF either. It wouldn't make sense that you can grenade yourself or rocket yourself to death but your team cannot.
 
I haven't encountered the Sprint/Bash yet, but in every Elite game that I've been in, it seems that the only thing people do is Plasma Charge/Bash. Although it's pretty easy to get around, it's annoying in a close-quarters situation.
 
So when you rank Lt. Colonel 3, do you still have a cR bar to fill up to -1 cR before Commander (even though I know the rank cap is still on)? Then once you reach that, do you still earn cR?

When you go from lt colonel Grade 2 to grade 3 it locks. So you cant earn any credits between grade 3 and commander towards your rank, until the cap is lifted. You still earn credits that you can spend on armor. Now i dont know if any credits earned after you reach max will eventually be put towards your rank once the cap is lifted, but i sure hope it is. I think the cap is pretty stupid since you have to earn 20 mil to reach the highest rank.

So i was playing BTB on spire and im just wondering how do you get down from the top of the tower? I assume you jump off and hope to land on one of those yellowish air lifts? IDK i think that is a hard way of getting down to me. I thought it was funny, one of our teammates was pushing other teammates off the edge of the tower as they were looking down over the edge. lol.

Sadly in an attempt to stagger my Reach playing I ended up breaking the whammy bar on my RB2 guitar whilst playing some new tracks. sad days...Same one most ordered from Neweggs that came bundled with AC/DC. Oh well, it still works just no spring back action. I'm going to wager a guess that cR earned after you reach the cap are just spending cash while the actual "XP" earned is frozen as if you have reached the highest level attainable online. In theory, this would prevent players who have earned enough cR by the time the cap is lifted to be power leveled into General and beyond etc.

Yeah, only ways to get down is the yellow lift, of course landing on someone's head, jet pack staggering, or being air lifted off. At least these are the only method's i've seen online, have tried, and can think of. Besides, it's cool up at the spire.

I like the variety of gameplay, they just (and are apparently) need more separation of game types so ppl who love Headhunter can play it all day vs. ppl who want nothing more than SWAT hemorrage. (why, I have no idea)

I'm hoping they do something about Rally outside of making it a daily challenge one day.
 
This week has easily increased my hatred of forge maps (aside from maybe one), jet packs on forge maps, SWAT and shitty players insisting on getting ranked in Arena by forcing you to carry the team. I tell you there's nothing more exhilarating than making a mad dash for power weapons alone only to eat a shit storm of grenades then look forward to getting double teamed by jet packing snipers for the remainder of the game!

I can already tell just like MW2 this game is quickly dissolving into one I won't play without a party of decent players present at all times.
 
I use the Plasma/Melee combo all the time especially on invasion, I mean the elites have horrible weapons on the first objective, the repeater sucks so I rock the plasma pistol and pick up a DMR or NR from a dead enemy/friendly, especially on Boneyard where spartans have a couple DMRs right there AND the high ground.

Elite slayer on Zealot is great for the plasma pistol combo.

I LOVE Headhunter, and wish more people would vote for it. Oddball, not so much. Headhunter is just crazy fun, even if you don't win.
 
Headhunter FFA is a clusterfuck. It seems like it's entirely luck based. Don't get me wrong though, it's a fun clusterfuck every once in a while, just not a mode I could play over-and-over again.

Headhunter was fun on Hemorrhage when i just sat back and sniped and watched skulls pop out of people while going 13-0 K/D. But it was annoying on Countdown when id actually try to play the game, get skulls, only to be killed right near the scoring circle so someone could get the skulls and score easy.

I really dont like the Paradiso map.

Too often people just run around camping the points, its not great.

Yep. I like it in Team Objective since you can work together and guard someone who has a bunch of skulls etc.

But in FFA it's all luck and camping the score points.
 
I dont know why, but it bothers me when i kill myself with a badly thrown grenade, or accidentally falling off the map, yet it gives the kill to someone who might have happened to hit me with 1 bullet. I guess its better than suicide and losing a score, but i feel they dont deserve it. LOL. Anyone else feel like this?

I wish Bungie lifts the level cap soon. I feel like I am wasting my time getting credits if it does not count toward my rank. I don't really care for unlocking new items in the armory because I already got my prosthetic arm. I guess I will keep playing to save for "Inclement Weather" (510,000 cR saved so far)

Taken a few days off, but I'm definitely jumping back in with the new playlist update. So awesome that they put SWAT into its own playlist.
 
Ranks are based on CR count... so why would you think extra credit accumulated while there's still a cap in place won't be counted once the cap is lifted? Or do you stop accumulating once you get to Lt. Col grade 3?

No you still earn credits, but your rank doesnt move at all. But if the credits earned while maxed go towards your rank once the cap is lifted, what would be the point in the cap in the first place? If they do count, once the cap is lifted, some people might jump a few ranks because they accumulated so much while the cap was on. Which is why i think these credits wont go towards your rank once the cap is lifted.

The playlist update is already put through?

Each day I'm not able to play, I'm getting more and more behind. Lawd. This game seems to be pulling a MW2 on everyone, eh? Really enjoyable in the beginning, however, slowly but surely, the bullshit starts to creep in?

When it comes to the modes getting their own playlist, it's nice that some of them are getting their own seperate options like SWAT and Snipers, but I don't want every single mode to have its own option. With that, what's the point of Team Slayer? I like to at least have some variety. That's just me, at least.
