I decided to take advantage of the Gamestop 50% bonus trade deal so I can build credit for a PS3. Now that Heavy Rain is out and God of War III is around the corner I feltit is the right time. I've been wanting to play those ever since they were announced, plus I am ready to move to Blu-Ray (even though DVD is still decent for me).

I asked the clerk if they had any new systems and they said they have been backordered. I also looked at Gamestop's site and it says the same thing. Is this is recent occurance? It has been a long time since I have thought about getting a PS3 and was a little surprised to hear there is a shortage. I guess it could be due to the upcoming games though.
 
I can see a shortage at most Gamestops, mostly due to people trading in for sizable chunks of credit, which can easily be spent on a PS3 that could be sold for parity/cost, or profit... Was like this at blockbuster too, but they didnt have access to nearly the amount of supply that gamestop does.

I so wish they brought the FFXIII bundle to the states, it is beautiful.

Just build the credit for one and nab it when it comes in. After the holidays and the ps3 selling like hotcakes this year plus heavy rain and gow3 yeah they are bit hard to find sometimes.

And your dvds will look alot better on your ps3. The upconversion on mine is great, it makes some dvds look damn near HD.

I already have a DVD player that can upconvert. I really just want the Star Trek 2009 Blu-Ray more than anything.
 
Funny.....My target has about 5 of them....all of them are the 120 GB models. I bought the last 250 GB model when it was on clearance :D
 
WOW.. this is really strange now...found a lot of people complaining abt this shortage.
Maybe its jus an area wise(country) shortage.
coz every shoppin malls and electronics shop (in my area) that i had been to, have plenty of ps3 waiting to be grabbed.
and with different packages like box+extra controller+GT5 prologue+resistance2, etc etc

even am abt to buy a ps3 soon... jus confused on which package to go for
