Has anyone received the Paper Mario - $20 EB voucher??
The game is worth 20 though, its great!
The voucher is what made a lot of us pull the trigger though. Without that I could have easily waited to get it for $15 at Best Buy with the GGC or better yet wait for it to go Player's Choice and pick it up on a 2 for $25 sale.
It came the same time as the BBB response to my complaint.
It's really a shame that customers have to resort to tactics such filing a claim with the BBB or small claims court to get what is legitimately owed here. I too would have waited for the inevitable $20 price drop (and paid at least $5 less with GGC, coupon, sale, etc.), but EB promised a $20 rebate. Lame, lame, lame.

YEAH got my $20 gift voucher yesterday. I had to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau but 5 minutes filling out the online form was well worth $20 imho. To those that doubted they would get their voucher FIGHT THE POWER!

I am too lazy to delve deep into this thread, so maybe this has already been said in here. During that sale, my friend and I went into EB. I already has Paper Mario, but my friend did not. He was going to grab it at $20, especially with that voucher. However, the store manager (and a really nice guy, who knows us well) said that they had recevied an email from corporate saying they would not be fulfilling the $20 Paper Mario rebate. He said he was telling all of his customers that, but unfortunately, many other of the EB stores probably weren't. We thanked him for his honesty. So, I would assume you guys aren't getting anything. I recently purchased Capcom Fighting Evolution and got a confirmation on my rebate, whereas my "mom" purchased Rumble Roses, and "she" has yet to get a rebate confirmation from that one....grrr.....
You guys are absolutely fucking ruthless, I love it.
I went ahead and filed complaints with both the BBB and FTC. I haven't heard anything since I filed the reports (and don't actually expect to get my $20 rebate), but I did have the satisfaction of putting my side of the story on public record. Better than nothing I guess. . .

Got mine as well. I spoke to their corporate office, who referred my complaint and email to the district manager who oversees the EB where I purchased my copy.

After our first conversation, we said he was going to have my voucher sent, and then literally 5 minutes later, called me back and said that he spoke to the Customer Service area. The CS area told him that Nintendo dropped the price, they honored it, and weren't in the business of giving out games for free.

At that point, I questioned his and the corporate mentality at EB - the only way they would be in the business of giving out games for free would be if they were sending me a check for $20, which I could deposit - obviously, none of us were ever getting checks. I told him I would be taking my business elsewhere, and that their practice of passing along company flubs to the customer was terrible - end of conversation.

2 Days later (yesterday) I got my voucher

Today I called CS and asked about the rebate----Still have not heard a word.
The CSA knew right away what I was talking about......"Oh the Paper Mario voucher, we are not honoring this for the $19.99 price paid- you had to buy the game for $50 to get this GV"
I asked him where it states this on the coupon, and he stated that its included under" it can't be combined w/ any other offer or discount", he said the price I paid was a discount or store offer.
I explained (was firm but not an ass) that if that were the case, why did I get the Splinter Cell CT voucher w/in 2 weeks and only paid $29.99 for the game, when the price went back up during the promotion, and is still $49.99 everywhere? This was the same situation as the Paper Mario deal. I bought the game for a sale price and should get the voucher on top of it, otherwise why run both of these promotions at the same time? I further explained the Harry Potter deal they had a year and 1/2 ago, I believe I paid ($9.99 and got $10 back).
I stated that if they were to exclude this they needed to put it in writing and or not allow the price to be dropped while they had the vouchers out. I stated that all ebgames stores have the same sales and prices and that they control the pricing through the computer. I even stated that the rep in EB mentioned that he thought a voucher was available for it at the time I purchased it. He wasnt pushing it or even acted like he knew the amt for it, needless to say, I got the flyer and mailed it out.
He stated he couldnt do anything for me but could elevate it to the supervisor. I told the supervisor the same thing as above and he took my name, number and address (probably to blackball me!) and stated that someone will call me back in a day or two. I asked if this was really going to happen and he stated that it would. He told me that he didnt " have the authority to do anything"
My point is, don't have overlapping promotions if you arent going to honor them, and or make sure you have this explained in writing what can and cannot be done. Like some of you have stated, it's like they run these deals to get you in the store and buy the merchandise, expecting a rebate, and then they wont honor it or admit that they screwed up...............its not the consumers fault, then they want to call us bad customers as we are "taking advantage of the system " that "they" created. It's bad business.....If I screw up, I will admit it and take care of the situation, this is what they should do.
Why have they done this on so many occasions??--- run a voucher on a game, and during the promotion, they drop the price to some really reduced amount--- sometimes for only a week, and then jack the price back up to the prevailing rate?? It's like they are targeting people, trying to track deal seekers? They have been honored these in the past w/ some people and now they arent.
It's sad but true, but "The Squeeky Wheel Gets the Grease"....if this is not going to work I will file a complaint w/ the BBB.

I sent out my Syphon Filter:TOS rebate over nine weeks ago, and still have not received the code in email or the mail. After several phone calls later, some guy called back and said they would send it out in 1-2 weeks. I hope I get this soon, or I will talk to the BBB, and if that doesn't do anything, I will sue them. Yes, I am just that crazy to sue over a $20 rebate.

I finally got my $20 voucher today (after filing with the BBB about 3 weeks ago). I guess it was worth the hassle. I find it amusing that it says "gift voucher offer for: Customer Service" and not Paper Mario.

Question for anyone who has submitted a complaint to the BBB. Under store selection, they appear not to have my EB as a choice. I"m sure there is some simple way around this, but I'm missing it. Any advice?

I looked up the Eb games corporate office phone number and address off of their website and used that EB games as the one I wanted to file a complaint against.

I made the mistake of filing my complaint against the EB Games Las Vegas Rebate Center. I'm thinking I should refile separate claims (with the BBB and FTC) against their corporate office in PA now that other folks are experiencing some level of success.

Ok, I guess I'll use that one then.

I just realised I never got mine. I think it was like $10 or $20 EB Gift Card. I got Paper Mario way back in like mid summer for $20 and never got the gift card.

What a jip....

I've read through the thread and the links to the others. What exactly do you do? I also bought the paper mario and submitted it back in june? I did make sure and keep a copy in my room. Are people just emailing the BBB, and if so what in addition to the situation are you putting in the email? Your name and address so you can get the voucher mailed to you?
