Has anyone returned a broken X360 to Costco?

My bro's x360 had problems booting up today and he decided that he'll just return it at Costco and get a new one (launch X360 was originally purchased at Costco with a bundle - PGR3, plug n charge, etc.)

Anyone know how returning the stuff to Costco works? Never tried it, although I heard Costco is kick ass for returning stuff. We got the receipt and everything included in the bundle. Do we have to return everything in the bundle or can we just return the X360 console? Also, do they allow us to keep the HDD? Any Costco return stories would be appreciated.
 
you must return the whole bundle. Kindof stilly but yeah, monstly this is becuse they will just give you a whole new bundle and "they dont have just the system" to give. You dont need the return slip, as long as you have the costco member card that the system was perchesed on. They log everything you buy. Thier is a slim chance they will want the return slip, but most costcos wont ask for it. bring it to be safe.
 
I've only returned an unopen 360 before, but it pretty much goes the same. Every thing in the original purchase needs to be returned.

Box and papper work doesn't really matter, though other stuff like HDD, Cables, Game, ETC, will need to be returned.

There's probably is a way to back up your saves and all that. Though you probably will need to find another 360 to do so. Or you can probably get a new 360 there, swap the HDD and return the new HDD with your broken 360.

Return itself is really pretty easy, they usually will just ask why you're returning. Give them whatever answer and they give you a refend. They sign next to CS say within 30 days, but that's just "helpful" to them.

Don't know if anyone was following, but there was a big rumur that they were changing policies for HDTVs. Turned out fasle though, seems like people are over exagerating the HDTV return problems.
 
Post an update and let us know how it went. I got a 360 last Christmas from Costco and was thinking about exchanging it as it sometimes does not respond after I close the tray and just says Opened on screen.
 
Got my 360 this christmas (bundle with arcade unplugged, play n charge and extra controller from costco) everything worked except the HDD was just dead. So i returned the whole thing, they dont exchange it, they just give you a gift card with the whole price on it.
 
Thanks for the replies guys. My bro just did the return today and he told me that it went pretty smoothly, but he had to return PGR3 and get whatever was in the new bundle, which is that XBLA Arcade disc thingy. Even though he had to switch games (which he was disappointed), he still came better off because he was allowed to keep that remote control that came with launch X360s and got an extra HDD and plug n charge kit. So he still has the old HDD with his old saves and everything.

The return went very smooth too, my bro said they didn't even ask or look through everything for the return. If you are going to buy a console in the future, do it at Costco, their return policy seems like the real deal.
