Have they ever made...

Official Jackie Chan or Jet Li DVD box sets?

If they have, what's the lowest price on these bad boys? Strangely, I like every movie they've ever been in, regardless of quality (Dragon Master, The One).

I don't think they have, the Jackie Chan one would be massive! There might be some compilations around with movies that share similar themes, heck there might even be something with all of them for all I know. I'm not really a big fan of either as I haven't seen a lot of movies with them somehow, but I do think they are incredible actors and stuntmen.

I've seen at least one collection of 4 movies from the company that does all those horrible 10 disc and 20 disc collections (Sci-fi, horror, action). However, you'd be hard pressed to even find jackie in some (all?) of the movies. At least one of them had him just working behind the scenes, but with no on-screen time; yet he's that movie's big name.

most jackie chan movies are really cheap (like 5 or less anyways anywheres) so they aren't that hard to find.. Jet Li.. maybe not so much.. collections of these kinds of movies wouldn't sell that well.. and woudln't be cheap (as sometimes movies would be from different studios).. yeah.. big mess.. best suggestion.. you can find these titles cheap anyway get them that way.

Not all the time. I just found a 3-DVD collection with Shanghai Knights, Rumble in the Bronx, and Accidental Spy for $75 AU. I can't find it in any US stores.

The WalMart that's near me prices all JC and JL movies at $10 apiece. It makes me angry. :bomb:

wow.. the wal mart near me had them in the 4.99 bin.. maybe it was just my location.. but many of the newer ones won't be cheap like that.. i was talking like the early 90s -80s jackie chan.

Yeah, me too. With how many times they've shown Rumble in the Bronx on TBS, it's still $10!

There are a couple of "box sets" of Jackie and Jet, but they are all of the U.S. cut-and-dubbed versions of their movies.

Dimension put out a Jet Li Master Collection (and you can buy the additional titles they have released, like Born to Defense, and Legend of the Swordsman, by themselves):

Jackie has these U.S. cut-and-dubbed sets:
Can someone please tell me why Jackie Chan's first two Police Story movies haven't had a proper release on DVD?
They have had proper DVD releases, but not in the U.S. Only thing they've been on is VHS by New Line (who owns the U.S. rights). The U.S. version has an awesome remastered picture, but the dubbing and music is sub-par. They use the music from First Strike, Rumble in the Bronx, and Mr. Nice Guy as soundtracks!

I would pick up the Police Story boxset from Asia. It's supposed to be kickass.

Yeah, I meant a proper U.S. release for the Police Story DVD's. I thought Dimension did a great job releasing the Jet Li collection DVD's. I wish whatever company could do something simillar with Jackie Chan's movies. Any sites with good prices for the Police Story Boxset? I know they have it up on ebay, but I hate ebay now.

Would you recommend going to ebay for these as well? I don't know if they bootleg these DVD box sets like they do anime.

I picked up "The Jackie Chan Colletion," a nice metal tin with 5 Jackie Chan movies (and a Dragon headband :p) at Best Buy for $16.99 a few weeks ago.

I haven't watched the movies yet, but unfortunately, the info is listed as English and Full Screen, PG-13, so I doubt these are uncut, but eh. The list is:

Fantasy Mission Force (1984)
Master With Cracked Fingers (1974)
Eagle Shadow Fist (1973)
Fire Dragon (1986)
The Young Tiger (1973)

Seriously check out Best Buy
I found like 4-5 boxsets of Jackie Chan
5 single disc movies too
Also tons of martial Arts movies ranging from 5.99-10 bucks.

The same set is like $15 at Sam's Club too...

if you can find it, get a jet li movie called "lord of the wu tang"

good movie, i picked it up at a grocery store for $5

It would be nice if they had series boxed at least.

Police Story
Project A
Drunken Master
Operation Condor

If you look at my DVD collection you can tell I am a HUGE Jackie Chan fan (I have a lot of VHS too.) I have some Jet Li but not even close to the amount of Jackie I have.

I've taken those into consideration, but none of the stores near me have them for reasonable prices.

I guess I'll have to sink down to asking for the VHS deals too. :)
half a loaf is one of my favorite jackie flicks, for both the pure camp of it, and the "plot" ^^
Yeah, I think that is the one they use the "Popeye the Sailor" theme. Quite awesome indeed!

Im sure you can get them all cheap at www.yesasia.com
They sell all legit HK/asian version of them and you dont have to sit through crappy dubbing or stupid cuts.
I dunno how that place stays in business with the price it charges on most things. So damn cheap compared to u.s. stores.

How have your orders from YesAsia.com gone? I'm probably going to pick up a few DVD's there, and was just wondering how long the free shipping takes, and if you've had any problems with the site. Any promotions? Thanks.

Thanks for the Once Upon a Time in China, Epic Wolf. :)

I'd order from YesAsia, but I can't speak Chinese and I'd have no idea what's going on.

No Problemo:bouncy:

Haha I love Jackie Chan movies. Half a Loaf of Kung Fu is good. I got it in a 2 pack with another movie (sadly I dont remember the name). You gotta look for those 2/3/4 packs that have a bunch of movies. They are usually cheap.

Oh I found it on amazon. Seems a lot of people on there don't like half a loaf of kung fu. This is the 2 pack I got:

I've ordered from yesasia.com a few times and never had any problems. Their free shipping takes about a week to a week and half (CA to IL), although they might not necessarily ship out on the day you pay, sometimes a few days later.

No problems with their site, it's in English too. Someone asked in an earlier post.

They've sent me a defective disc once and a wrong version another time. Pain in the ass but their customer service has been excellent. They replied to my emails within a day and sent me a RMA and prepaid return label with no questions asked. Replacement usually arrives about 2 weeks after I mailed out the return.

All in all, good experience with them so far.

people that dont like half a loaf are people that take movies WAY too seriously

its the definition of a campy movie, it ranks up there with the batman movie with adam west
