Mainly one you paid for in the theaters.

Hearing about all the people walking out of the Last Airbender got me wondering if it's a common thing for CAG movie watchers.

The one I can remember was Saw III or IV or II... one of those. It was only $2 to see, but I felt odd paying to watch a man pull chains out of his body.

the lovely bones...oh my god that was horrible... if they showed that girl getting raped I would have been so disturbed I would have left the theater... Battlefield Earth was another bad one. The Day the earth stood still (2008) had me pissed off at Jadien's acting more than Reeve's acting in that movie.
Friends and I walked out during "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". Awful movie.
what is this i dont even

When I was a kid my friends and I walked out on "The Man Who Loved Women", as it didn't prove to be what we were expecting. We were all underage for an R rated movie and we recruited some guy to stand in as our Dad so we could get in without our parents. That worked. The movie proved far less titillating then expected.

Much more recently, I would have like to have walked out on Winter's Bone today, but didn't because I was there with my wife and my sister. It proved to be the case that they didn't seem to like it much either, but I wasn't sure while watching it. For me the movie was a major league watch-checker. If I had a watch I'd have checked it many times. Instead I was typing things like "When does this end?" on my iPhone, intending to show it to my wife, but had second thoughts on doing that.

I don't recall ever walking out on a movie myself, but at the same time, I don't go to the movies very often either.

I dont remember what movie it was we went to see but my gf and I walked out because a group of blaeks rolled in 5 mins late and wouldnt stfu. Bad part was they sat next to us. I stood up and let my gf start walking first and I turned around and told them thanks for not shutting tfu and ruining the movie.

Manager offered us ea 2 movie passes for our next visit.

When you walk out of a movie, nothing can be really done right? It's not the theater's fault for playing a bad movie. I usually give movies lots of chances. I usually end up falling asleep if i get too bored. My gf has caught me doing this during Robin Hood a few weeks back.

As for bitching to the manager, so you get a free pass to another movie? meh.

Glad I didn't waste my money on Jonah Hex, that movie was in and out in 2 weeks.

went to see shanghai knights with a couple of friends. Before we went in to see that we caught a glimpse of daredevil at a diff auditorium and walked out. I had already seen that too by that time but my friends haven't. That's about it really.

When I saw Spider-Man 3 I saw a couple people walk out when Venom and Sandman talk to each other. Suppose they thought it got too ridiculous by that point.

Paying $10 for a one time viewing of a movie is a big deal, so I always make sure to go to movies I'm extremely interested in or that look very promising. And that's why I haven't ever been close to walking out on a movie.

People were complaining about Airbender and I'm sitting here like -- Did you watch the same trailers I did?

lol. My thoughts exactly.

I walked out of a movie called Pootie Tang about a decade ago. There was a running gag that the guy spoke his own language and it got old real quick. We left after about 15 minutes. Apparently the manager had problems with the movie and actually gave us a full refund and an apology.

It sounds like you had read the book beforehand.. why did you pay to see the movie if the subject matter bothered you? I agree, I would've been disturbed and left, but then again, I knew what the movie was about and chose to avoid it altogether.

I haven't walked out on a movie but I wanted to during Babylon A.D.

:whistle2:s

Never read the book, but I had the feeling that sort of thing was going to happen. I really thought that she was going to help her family catch her killer, instead he gets off'ed by falling down a cliff :bomb: I avoided this one when it was released to blu ray. my gf liked it, I didn't.

The one time I walked out, they gave my friends and us all passes to come back and see a movie for free. We did walk out in the first 30 minutes though.

Yeah, seriously what a crap ending. It just made zero sense.

I walked out on Boomerang. Yeah, the Eddie Murphy movie. Yeah, the one that wasn't funny. No not that one, the other one.

Yep same for me as well.

Walking out on a movie???? Are yall serious?!?!?

Look, as a man who just happened to make a thread a few weeks ago about the worst movie you've ever seen (plug)....I can say I've never walked out on a movie

And I've seen August Rush and Alpha Dog, to note.

This is what you do (assuming you're with someone who isn't nitpicky): You notice all the garbage about the movie, and you in a smiling tone note it. It's a technique that has worked plenty of times. It brings down the person who may actually enjoy it to your level, while opening dialog about future plans.

I saw Prince of Persia with a girl a few months ago. It was awful to me at times. Great time to forcast the rest of the night!

And if you're really bold, you'll just fall asleep. Let the woman or your friends know not to take you to see bullshit like that again

i walked out on the village after I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard of. I got a full refund. I also wanted to walk out of bankok dangerous and babylon AD, but i got the tickets for free and didn't want to make a big deal about it.

I have yet to walk out on a movie but that is also because I have paid 5-9.75 to see them and force myself to stay. I wan'ted to walk out on Indy 4, Transformers 2 and Terminator: Salvation. I hate the fact that I even put Terminator in front of that but didn't think people would know what movie I was talking about if I just put it as Salvation. I just can not see in spending the money and walking out. Now if I have people that wont shut up and it is so bad that I walk out I will say something to the manager.

Certain dudes over 40 I know saw the Twilight part 1 commercial where they only showed the 2 fight scenes and made it look like an action movie. They went to see the movie to waste time and ran out after about 30 minutes lmao. They had no idea about the book or anything and I make fun of them every time I get the chance. :)

I personally never walked out before because I only go to see things I'm interested in. If it turns out to be bad I enjoy my snacks and think about bunnies killing pony's or the other way around with ninja gear..... Them pony's be sneaky.......

I have gotten dragged to a lot of crap over the years with the wife and now with the kids as well, but I haven't ever walked out. Since the theaters usually have excellent air conditioning and it's dark, I'll just sleep through the movie. I have slept through a LOT of movies at the theater over the years. The ones I can remember are:
Titanic
Clueless
Schindler's List
Anastasia
Hotel for Dogs
Lord of the Rings (first one)
Spiderman 3
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Batman and Robin
Pocahontas
Godzilla

Only once, when I was a kid and our dad made us walk out of "The Fifth Element" a little while after Chris Tucker showed up.

We went to go see The Wrestler at this theatre that was supposed to be a fancy artist type theatre, paid $15 each for tickets.

The movie stopped playing 4 times. My gf wanted to walk out after the third time, but I really wanted to see the rest of the movie. We watched the whole thing, walked straight to the manager, complained, and he gave us a full refund, and passes to see another movie. We used them at a different location. We've never been back to that theatre.

Never walked out of a movie in the theater ($10.75 a ticket? I'm not going anywhere), but there were some rentals that I had to just stop the DVD and resist the urge to snap it in half. Date Movie is the first that comes to mind, and this weekend we saw The Crazies -- what a dragging, boring, piece of shit that doesn't make you give a damn about anyone in it.

No. I know my tastes and I'm pretty selective about what I go to the theater to see so it's rare that I see something that I absolutely hate.

I've always wanted to walk out, but every time I go I'm with someone I know. The Book of Eli is a good one, 2 hours too long. And the Transformer movies. My friends kept bitching during the first one, second one had too many clusterf*cks. Final Destination 3 was too damn short and was meant for direct to dvd. Boy have I wasted good money.

Best friend and I walked out of Michael Bay's Friday the 13th remake. I'm still pissed off whenever I think about the money I wasted.

I also fell asleep during The 13th Floor. Don't know if that counts. I could've walked out, but I was comfy.

Edit: Oh, and I walked out of Bride Wars... while my girlfriend was still in the theater. I waited in the truck.

I never have walked out but was very tempted for the Amityville Horror remake and the Friday the 13th that started with Jason dying and the guy getting possessed by him by eating his heart. I did fall asleep during Alice in Wonderland

You are totally right on your assessment of The Crazies.

I have only walked out of a movie once. I got dragged to see Happy Feet with my family and walked out about half way through, I just couldn't stand it any longer.

As far as movies that I picked to go see, I have never walked out of one.

Jurrasic park 2 is the only movie I ever walked out on.

I was sitting there bored out of my skull and waiting for it to end, the t-rex had just busted out the ships cargo hold and I looked at my watch and saw the time and said to myself "Its about 15 minutes till midnight, If I leave right now I can get home in time for the new episode of spawn on hbo". So I got up and left.

I was damn tempted to walk out of superman and ghost rider also but I had nothing else to do so I stayed.

I loved the Lovely Bones, August Rush, and Happy Feet. Hmmm...I've never walked out on a movie though since I generally love seeing all of them. Whether or not I like them is a different story though. Since I paid I might as well sit through the entire thing, might find one or two things I enjoy from it.

Jason Goes To Hell? I have it on DVD, because I also have a penchant for what most consider bad horror movies. I walked out on a movie once, and walked into something else that was 10x better, but I can't remember what either one was. I would have walked out on Garfield, but I was tricked into seeing it and was too young to drive away with somebody's motorcar.

Went to Kung-Pow back in college and watched the whole movie while nine people walked out. My roommate wanted to leave but I was too busy laughing at how horribly funny the movie was he didn't leave. I think we were a part of only about five people who stayed till the end. My roommate worked at the theater so we always got in free so I enjoyed most movies we watched because they were free.

Stardust.

That movie was so awful. I actually got to the endish final battle moment and realized I didn't care. As someone who obsesses about seeing the ending to everything that's a big insult to the movie. I mean, I sat through Black Sheep (The one with zombie sheep, but hey, that movie was at least horribly entertaining.) but I couldn't stand the stupid trash that is Stardust. It's an insult to anyone who truly likes the fantasy genre.

Also, I got a free ticket to Resident Evil: Extinction and I was so insulted that I actually requested my money back. I told the girl at the counter that it was so bad the theater should pay me to sit through it.

It's terrible that trash movies get released widespread in theaters and movies like Pan's Labyrinth are a short limited availability release. :'(

Only once and the movie was------ Hostile

The ex and I went to see it. The first 45 minuets were a soft-core porn, I didn't mind that so much. Then we left about 10 minuets into the second half of the movie, which is just dismemberment. I am still convinced that movie is a snuff film.
Yeah, seriously what a crap ending. It just made zero sense.
Yea. The ending of The time machine (2002) also pissed me off... the movie was good up until he got stuck in the future.
I walked out on Boomerang. Yeah, the Eddie Murphy movie. Yeah, the one that wasn't funny. No not that one, the other one.
Eddy murphy movies have not been funny to me since Nutty Professor.
Lakeview Terrace with Samuel Motha-fucken L Jackson. I sat through Snakes on a Plane but this movie just pissed me off for some reason.
Lakeview Terrace was an "OK" movie with a stupid ending.. I mean come on SLJ...you signed on for this???

The only movies that I have experienced shutting off or problems with where the ones I saw in south florida. It was the AMC Theater at Sunset place. I remembered the film BURNING in the beginning of Space Cowboys...followed by the burnt smell coming from the projector room.

That reminds me, Cloverfield...I know a lot of people hated it, but some people had that motion sickness in the first 20 minutes (rob's party). Did anyone get a refund for that motion sickness?
No. I know my tastes and I'm pretty selective about what I go to the theater to see so it's rare that I see something that I absolutely hate.
This.

I've walked out at least two or three times before. Of course there's been tons more times that I would have left if not for whoever I was with. Like with Where the Wild things live or whatever it's called. God awful movie but we stayed because my girlfriends daughter was into it. There was a Stephen King movie 3-4 years ago I think was called Riding the Bullet, some guy in a small town and some issue with a cop. the movie just crawled and we left.

Stardust and Serenity were both movies I would have loved to walk out of but couldn't because of the family. Stardust was slow and boring and the ending was just like the Fifth Element. I never saw Firefly but heard great things about it, Serenity though was too predictable especially with the revelation of the mutated things. Based on the movie I couldn't figure out why the show was so popular.

The newest Rambo movie, my daughter was born about 2 months before that came out and when the bad guys started stabbing kids I had to go, couldnt watch that even in a movie.
