Seriously though, I got into this from a newsletter on Gametrailers.com, wondering what that funny looking animal was. It mentioned $1 for new games. That peeked my interest.

Well, I was a little confused at first with the whole aspect of trading games and getting new (and by new - I mean a game that recently came out) or used games. But once I understood that for old games that I could never trade at say gamestop, or have a hard time getting many other people to grab, I was able to get them traded with ease and able to grab some of the games I've been wanting, but without breaking the bank.

Here's an example:
Traded away:

:ps2:PS2:
Bouncer
Magic Pengal
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter
Wild Arms 3
Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2(en route)
Tekken Tag Tournament
Freekstyle(en route)
MGS 2: Subsistence(en route)
Devil May Cry 3(en route)

:gc:Gamecube:
Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & II
2 copies of Metroid Prime

:pc:PC:
Quake 4
Unreal Tournament 2004

PSX:
Persona (granted some people wouldn't trade this likely, but I really didn't get into it...sorry)

Most of these games I traded with the exception of Persona, I would've gotton low trades for. But with Goozex, I get the same amount that the person would want it for...fair deal I say.

Got:

:ps2:PS2
Dirge of Cerberus: FF7
Ratchet: Deadlocked
Kingdom Hearts 2
Shadow of the Colossus
Dark Cloud 1 & 2(en route)
.hack//GU Vol 3(en route)
Dragon Quest 8(en route)

:xbox:Xbox
Fable: Lost Chapters

Now the catch is that you pay $1 for each gameyou want (Goozex's Commision) and you have to ship the games your trading. That for me is cheap too, about $2.37 :)
Just a note, it is recommend to use Bubble Mailer for added protection. They are cheap and sell in BUNDLES..Amazon 50 Ct #0 = here $8.99 or ebay for a larger cheaper amount

So overall, I spent, $62.91 sending out games with the bubble mailers.
And got $141.99 worth of games. I Saved $79.81...ME HAPPY CAMPER

The thing I love about it besides saving money, is that it does the matching for me. Just set the games you want to give a happy home and then get an email of what's up :)

I love cheapassgamer for also being a sponsor of them. I thank everyone within Cheapassgamer and Goozex, that I'm able to get some new games and pass on the love of the old games to others. OH yeah. In case you think you got scammed too, that no one sent you the game that you wanted or it didn't work like they said, they refund what you spent for it. They oversee the matter making sure that whoever got shafted get's justified. That's what sold me.

Oh here's the beauty part they are doing..they have a contest now and since it's their 2 year anniversary, they are giving away a Xbox 360 Elite. It is a random drawing and to enter you have 3 people sign up under you, that's it. So, if your not a member and want to get another way of trading games, there you go. You can check out my list in my signature, if you want to sign up under me-(bytemap) cool. It's only available till Sept. 12, 2008 I got in this a little late, but hey either way I'm having a great time

I love the fact you get to enjoy a great service for a small fee and great games. Oh yeah and the quality of the games that you get are better than USED, it's like they were barely played- Just like Cheapassgamer- People that take care of their investment, so your always likely to get a sweet game that's been taken care instead of mashed to death :) That's my brag and deal.. thx guys :bouncy::hot::applause:

I've had nothing but good things to say about goozex ever since I joined. I can't tell you the number of great games I've gotten from them for very reasonable prices. The trade values are usually really well researched except for a few (200 pts. for DQVII? :D) Glad to see someone else is enjoying it as much as I have.

Someone school me on this Goozex thing. It doesn't cost to sign up, but you pay $1 for each game you trade? Do you have to accept trade offers? Is there any kind of trader protection in case someone tries to scam you or they send something in worse condition than stated?

You only pay $1 for each game you request. If you're sending a game out, you don't pay the $1 fee.

Do you have to accept trade offers?

Nope. Requests will automatically time out after 26 hours if you don't accept.

I've never encountered any scams, but from what I here, Goozex is pretty good about taking care of you if you do get scammed. As for getting games in worse condition than expected, if you receive an unplayable game, you'll get a full refund. If you request a complete game and get just the disc, or the disc is playable but has lots of scratches, there's not much you can do other than mention the fact in your feedback.

So you basically make a list of wants and whatever games are on there you pay $1 for? Like if I said my wants are Call of Duty 4, Rock Band 2 and Barbie's Magical Adventure, I'd pay Goozex $3 to list those?

Damn, that sucks. Does lower feedback ship first or what?

The link to the FAQ/instructions:
http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/about_howitworks.asp

Here is a simple breakdown refer to the above link for clarification

Outgoing > You ship out the game and receive points(trade value) once positive feedback is received

Incoming < You spend the appropriate amount of points needed for a game + one trade credit (the $1.00 fee)

I haven't had a bad experience with them and I think they are a good way to get rid of games that you won't get much for through GS, eBay, etc... The only thing is you might have to be patient to get what you want.

Alright, so I signed up and listed some of my stuff. They gave me 100 points and 1 trade for signing up, so what can I do with that?

Basically, when I give someone a game, Goozex gives me points and I get a game using those points? It seems like the game I signed up to get (CoD4) is gonna take me awhile...

Things usually move fairly quickly on high-point newer games.

I put The World Ends With You in my queue maybe 1-2 months ago. I was in the 40s or so for the wait. I thought I would have it by the holidays, and I already received it last week.

It really just depends on the game, but if you "need" a game within a week or two, you're sometimes better off buying it if there's a long line or not too many trades happening. You'll need something to trade out eventually anyway...

Alright, I think I get it now. I just got a trade request for my NCAA 07 - 100 points. So all I do is ship it to this guy and once he leaves feedback I get my points?

It's also so a good way to get newer games without spending a lot of cash all at once.
For instance, I sent out 6 older GCN and PS2 games, which cost me about $4 each to ship. So I spent $24 out of pocket.
In return I received Lego Indiana Jones for Wii, with box and instructions like new. So I got a pretty decent deal on the game, but better yet, I spent just a few bucks at a time over about a month to earn enough points.

Also keep in mind I got rid of games that have little or no Gamestop value and were just collecting dust.
If you have a newer game it's usually better to just sell it on ebay, but if you have old games collecting dust Goozex is a great way to "dump" them.

If you look at my Goozex sig, you'll see 15 out / 6 in. That means I had to send 15 PS2, Gameboy, and GCN games and in return I got 6 relatively new Wii games.

Yes. After you get a Feedback Score of 20, you will get your points automatically once you accept a request for one of your games. I say this right now, if you get enough points to request CoD 4, you should get matched easily in a day or two probably. If you request something like Disgaea 3 or Rock Band 2, don't except to seem them anytime soon.

Most games I send out, the postage is no more than a couple bucks w/ Delivery Confirmation using Paypal shipping. I use Goozex to post games that I find at garage sales that I either don't want or already have. This last time, I used Goozex to trade off my free copy of SceneIt? that I got from LSC, and in return picked up a complete GTA4.

One question about Goozex though. I have a trade I sent out 3 weeks ago, and was recieved by the requester. They still have not left feedback, even after PM'ing them asking them to do so. What will happen with this? Will I just not receive any feedback what-so-ever?

At 21 days, it will be system closed and you will a +10 feedback.

I used Goozex to clean out a lot of old Xbox and GBA games and picked up some very recent Wii games and a few rare classics. Look at my current sig, Xenogears and Suikoden. The Suikoden was in super awesome condition.

When you guys ship out a game, what do you do for the sellers address? Do you use the slip that comes with the print out? I was worried because someone might know what Goozex is and snag the game. If you write it yourself, what do you put for the sender's address?

Wow...it's been awhile, thanks for the help guys. Didn't check back after some time.

lolwut, in answer of your response. You Ship to the Seller's Address. IN the username, it lists their address when you accept the trade. I don't use the slip because I'm afraid that USPS will crack the disc in transit. I pay a little extra for a bubble mailer, but it's worth the money in my eyes.

I know it's hard to understand at first, that your paying to give a game away. But it pays in the long run. Some people are able to get those NEW releases quick. I'm in it for more of the older games that I can't find in stores :) I haven't had anyone snag Goozex Labeled games so far and I've traded quite a few. If you write it yourself, when you trade it, it will and should show you their address.

Hope this helps.

I'd also suggest you use paypal shipping if you have a paypal account. Usually cost me at most $2.20 to ship anywhere in the U.S. with a delivery confirmation number that you can use to track your package online. DC# is great especially if you are worried about losing the package in the mail. The biggest perk to this though is not having to wait in line at the post office (I drop mine off in the bins inside). You just print out the label, attach it to the package and drop it off. Also, you can save money by reusing the mailers from the games you receive in the mail ;).

If i have money in my paypal account. I use paypal shipping and use the paypal label. if I don't money there i use the goozex label. I haven't had any issues with it. I figure if Netflix can send out DVDs in clearly DVD envelopes and never have problems then we should be good as well
Is this really legit, has it worked out for everyone?
see now questions like this are why antecedents are so important. If you're talking about Goozex.. then just like it was described it works perfectly. There are a few issues but nothing big for instance
1) you're getting a game from someone but that doesn't mean you're always a second owner. I've gotten two gamestop-stickered games. they played fine but I don't like big yellow stickers i can't get rid of. It's not that big a deal and there's nothing you can do about it but there it is. I've also given my share of sealed games (about 30% of the games i send out) the last game I got (Batman:Rise of Shin Tsu) was not only brand new but it was a litograph special edition
2) you have to get matched. some games match easier than others. I'm first in line for Gladius (to be honest i have no idea why I haven't picked it up) but I've been waiting hard for Megaman Collection since i signed up for Goozex. If you're looking for more 'contemporary' games it shouldn't be that big of an issue but for older games you may have to wait longer.
