AMAZING Best Buy deal....makes me wish I didn't have the HD-DVD yet. You could easily sell Heroes if you wanted to make up the cost....wow, they are almost giving away the HD-DVD.
 
Got this from AVS.

Use this coupon code: P7N6J9K at barnesandnoble.com to get 50% off any book, movie, etc. This is a one time use coupon. It expires 11/11/07 and you must use a mastercard.

The only catch is you must be a member of their membership club (which saves you an extra 10% on books in store and online, and costs $25/yr). Their HD DVD prices are hardly discounted, but I found that if you are getting a box set you can get a pretty good deal.

I ordered the Oceans 11,12,13 Box set for $31.99 ($24 savings over amazon). The best current deal is probably the Harry Potter Box Set for $59.99 ($44 savings over amazon).

Even if you aren't a member these two deals basically pay for the membership for themselves, and if you pay the $25 every year for a BN membership anyways, like me, it's an especially sweet deal.

Great deal if you get a boxset since it works on pre-orders.

Sadly, I'm pretty broke so I only picked up Carlito's Way for $15 (after 3ish in shipping/tax) which still isn't bad at all. It's usually $20 and Universal titles are almost never on sale.

and a question for anyone who bought the Toshiba A30 HD DVD Player...are y'all disappointed in anyway with it? i've heard kinda semi-good reviews about it but overall i've heard that it's better to go with a different player? anyone that can offer their input here?
 
looks like a good time to jump on hd dvd add on and i may pick up transformers too..unless theres a deal elsewhere?

though i still wish the add on was black so it would match my elite

I don't know if I would agree. There have been some 9 movie deals that I thought were better. Heroes is cool, I give it a solid 6.5 or 7. But I'd rather have 2 or 3 good movies instead.
 
ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!? I just fucking bought both the add on and heroes the other day. I got the add on from BB and Heroes from Fry's. Would I still be able to get a copy of heroes from BB if I showed my receipt?

Mostlikely you could get it at Best Buy with receipt. If they decline you, return your HD DVD drive and re-buy it...if you can't return it, rebuy it and return the new one with the old receipt.

It's seems that 300 and the bourne identity is only avaible pre packed with the Toshiba player. Though it still says that you get 2 additional dvds with any HD-DVD player.

Plus, 300 is free with the HD-DVD if bought online. Someone in that thread you posted seemed to have convinced a manager to over ride it for him to do it instore too.

Where do you see the 300 free with HD-DVD purchase? I checked BB and could not find it... But I oculd have missed it.

From what I understand. You could only get the Heroes HD DVD free right away and 5 HD DVDs by mail in rebate with the purchase of a 360 add on. That only makes 6 DVDs. If you bought a 3rd gen Toshiba HD DVD player, then you would get 300 and the Bourne Identity right out of the box plus those 5 free mail in rebate movies thats 7 DVDs.
