I wonder if Transformers will now work without having to clear the cache everytime. I'll try it later.

Shrek The Third shipped on Friday from BestBuy.com Hope I get it soon, their shipping usually sucks for CA.

Re: the update - Transformers hasn't failed me since I updated, and I've tested several times. Looks like they may have actually fixed it.

I just wish they'd release the Menubots and Profiler downloads though. Those little video clips are nothing to write home about.
I took the liberty .;)
Fair enough.

It just baffles me that some people really bought into Sony's PR shit. I mean, if you believed it in 2006 for whatever reason, fine. If you believed it after the weak showing for HD DVD at CES in January, I disagree but I can see where someone would be coming from.

However, anyone who believed HD DVD was going to be dead by now at any point after the "drought" was over in March is a clueless, braindead fool. There are no shortage of Blu-Ray devotees that fall into that category, I suppose.

Is there a way to register on-line rather than through the Transformers HD DVD menu ?
link ?
Jessica Biel in "Chuck and Larry'....YUMMY
She was pretty hot in the movie, although I had gotten my fair share by watching that part in the trailer fifty times. Come on, you know which part.
I hear the movie is shitty though. For shame on Sandler doing something like "Reign Over Me" then having "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" come out four months later.

Is there a complete list of combo titles anywhere ?

I'm interested in the one's that are no longer available and I need to keep an eye on .

I am not entirely certain how this thread ended up in the 360 forum. I've placed it in the HD-DVD forum where it belongs.

EDIT: I also made it a sticky.

Are you talking about Accepted? Because that movie seems to be OOS pretty much everywhere. I got my copy from FamilyVideo.com

Just bought Perfume: Story Of A Murderer, ouch yells my wallet, $40 shipped that's the most I've ever spent on a import.

Fantastic movie though and well worth the money.

Equillibrium is becoming OOS pretty much everywhere since from what I've heard its out of print. If you guys are on the fence I'd suggest hitting up XploitedCinema.com asap, mine shipped today :D

daphatty, I moved this back to the X360 forums. It originated here because we discuss the software and how it works on the XBOX360 HD DVD Player. We also avoid Blu-Ray fanboys by keeping it here. Unless I'm the only that feels this way, I apologize in advance, let me know and I'll move it out to the DVD Forum.

Well that's one vote. I would also like to know how the rest of the regulars feel about this...KaneRobot, Ruined, Sporadic, Guyver, Richlough...anyone else that I missed?

It's nice to see on the 1st page of the 360 forums , but if it would help other new HD DVD enthusiasts maybe put it over there .

I'm subscribed so that's how I usually get here .

So I guess my vote is neutral .

Link - I'm glad it was moved back here but I think the time is getting pretty close to moving it away from the "nest." I have actually been working on turning this into a catch-all thread including info on players, it's just slow going because I've been a little busier than usual.

We haven't had much of a problem with Blu-Ray owners trying to take it over or whatever, and as long as people who are looking to just stir it up for no reason are swept away I don't think that'll change. It's unavoidable to have at least some Blu-Ray talk in an HD DVD thread (and vice-versa) but as long as people wanting to be admant in their support for "the other side" are shuffled off to the Format War Thread, I predict peace in the valley of 1080p.

So yeah, I think it's close to time to get it moved. Our little format is growing up. Just give me a few days to try to get this expanded OP done.

I think its fair that since you started this thread, that you decide where it should go, I have not issues with it either way I guess and it seems most people here don't either. I'll put it back where daphatty had it. Sorry for the confusion everyone.

I want it back in the 360 forum, at least, until we get the format subforums.

Hopefully Cheapy will do that some time soon because as it is, this is a mess.

I totally agree, I just asked CheapyD if he could create a new forum where users can discuss films, tv, and DVD/HD DVD/Blu-Ray news. Hopefully he agrees and I'll just move it over there when it comes up.

Again, sorry for all this confussion guys.

I would agree. I am not real happy that DVD, BD, and HD DVD are all in one forum, it's harder to find and keep track of deals.

I'd prefer this thread stay in 360, and help keep track of deals as well - Until cheapy makes sub-forums for each format.

No sir, I don't like it.

Only thing I want is a HD-DVD & Blu-Ray subforums for the DVD forum.

cmon.... get the hype rollin..

shrek out tomorrow!!!

ofcourse sony counters with the b0g0...

Also while on the topic of this thread...i did like that it was stickied... made it alot easier to get to...

but....

Dont know if this thread should always be only about the addon...we can prob get more people to jump aboard in the dvd forums
I like this thread in the 360 forum. Most of us seem to have add ons vs Stand alone players so it makes sense ti keep it here.
That is changing though - heck, even some of the "regulars" of this thread have moved on to standalones. The 360 AO was great because it was a cheap way to get into HD. Now it isn't necessarily the best deal out there anymore, and more people are buying standalone players.

Bastard. I wanted to wait for a damned price drop.
Anyone hyped for Bladerunner up in here ?

I'm going for the normal 5 disc edition .

It comes out Dec 18 .
Super-hyped over here. I'm getting the full-on deluxe one with the gimmicky toys. I forget, does it include the most recent version of the film? the one that is currently being shown in theaters?

I would imagine , that's one of the reasons it's coming out .
I think there are 4 versions .

How does the Pianist look ? I'm really wanting it when it comes out domestically .

Also is there anywhwere to get a replacement case ?
My Donner Cut has a broken hub .

It comes out Dec 18 .
Absolutely. I've never seen it. And amazingly enough, I don't even think I've seen a 1-minute snippet of the movie anywhere. Checking my Amazon orders though, I seemed to have ordered it for Blu-Ray. I went with the briefcase set, but I don't know why I initially put in my order for Blu-Ray. I'm gonna miss not having bookmarks. Now I'm deciding whether to switch over to HD.

I don't know if it has any HDi features or not .
Never seen Bladerunner but the way Richlough is pimping it, I might get it.
It's a modern classic ! A must get HD DVD [IMO] , the normal 5 disc set is a no-brainer .

I think it's $27.95 on Amazon now . I'll wait to see the price in the Sunday ads for the coresponding week , it's sure to be on sale .

At AVS, someone went through and made a projected "big names list" for 2008 for both formats. Looking at the Dreamworks & Paramount stuff for '08, it makes the exclusivity deal seem even better for HD DVD:

Bee Movie, Beowulf, Sweeney Todd 1-18-08/Cloverfield, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (which may be dual format), Tropic Thunder, and Iron Man.

And that's not everything, I removed a few I didn't care about. Throw in a few AAA catalog titles and it'll be a REALLY strong year for Paramount's stuff.

Saw Beowulf last night. That will be a must buy Paramount. Although half of the enjoyment of the movie was the 3D, I hope someone creates a consumer grade 3D system soon for home.
Anyone watch Shrek The Third on HD DVD yet? Mine should be arriving any day now...hopefully.
Watched a little of it last night, looked pretty nice. Going to finish watching it tonight or watch Oceans 13.

I just checked out DreamworksAnimation.com to see what kind of stuff to look forward to hitting HD DVD and they have some pretty good stuff:

Bee Movie
Kung Fu Panda

Madagascar: Crate Escape (possibly early 2008)
Monster vs. Aliens (2009) - 50's Monster movie in a modern day action/comedy

Top that off with hopefully catalog releases of: Shrek, Shrek 2, Madagascar, Over The Hedge, Shark Tale, Flushed Away...:D
How does the Pianist look ? I'm really wanting it when it comes out domestically .
It's been awhile since I've watched it but from what I remember, it looks pretty good. It gets a little grainy in some spots but besides that.

I have one of those rotating DVD towers. The HD-DVDs are taking up 2 shelves on the front side and the tower has 5 DVD shelves on each side. I paid $100-150 for it a few years ago at Best Buy.

Where did you get a non-silver sided Bourne Supremacy?
