Not to criticize, but do you really need 3 XBox's? And two hooked to what appears to be the same TV?

The Widescreen looks sweet...by the way.

you got a few thousand dollar widescreen TV, with no DVD player? or do you use one of the many xbox's for that slave job?
i have the same exact modem as you!
sweet now that I look at it, I got that same modem also!!!!!

The dvd playback kit wasnt a big enough give away? (the remote is next to the tv and the reciever is in the xbox)

ohh people make fun of my plasma stand but they cost $450 for my tv, ill get one someday..

3 xbox = halo 1 system ling.
yea i love halo
You need a DVD player that will output 480p so you can take advantage of that TV.
Don't you hate when people have better stuff than you but don't use it correctly.

Nice widescreen! I'm jealous

I gotta get me one of those. (They cost a few grand though!? I'm way too tight to pony up that kind of cash.)

I have one of those, wubb, when I move in with the GF after popping the question.

Call it "gentle nudging". :D

Guys, you too can afford the same off-brand non-HD 42" plasma!!!:

(link does not work from cag, but cut and paste does)

For those who never heard of Maxent, they currently make two tvs, soon seven models:
http://www.maxentusa.com/_coreModules/eShopping/productDetail.aspx?productMasterID=14
They seem to make a decent unit, contrast is on the low side, but a few reviews gave it a decent rating.

Discontinued model in silver is even cheaper:

I got to say, for the price you do get a decent amount of TV, bang for the buck. Since nothing really takes advantage of full HD yet ED is good for games, the next generation may support more full HD. For the same money I would pick this one due to the better specs for the contrast and a name brand name:

Anyone know if the HD pack works on a ED TV?

It does but EDTV only displays to 480p

Alright here's my set-up. I'm damn proud of my 34" Sony Direct-View Widescreen Wega HDTV (KV-34XBR910 to be exact  ), and the best part about it is the twin screen ability! I can watch TV, or play my Dreamcast while waiting for the next game of Xbox live Halo2 to start. It's the shit!
Your a very smart man to use a Xbox as a Dvd player.

It has a much higher resale/trade value.
Huh? Because he uses it to play DVD's in worth more? WTF are you talking about?

I think what he was trying to say was that it's a better deal to buy an Xbox than a stand-alone DVD player as the trade-in value for an XBOX will always be greater than the trade-in value of an equally priced ($150) DVD player. At least that's what I think he was saying... :whistle2:k

That's one short attention span you have.

$150 for a freaking dvd player??? i got one at the house i'll let go real cheap say $80...i mean that's a $70 deal for you my man.

Gentle nudging nothing!- I got her hooked on Halo 2 now, and now she wants the 42 plasma. From pong, to tekken, to plasma- the marriage is soon.

When I'm in the mood to play something, I'm in the mood to play something :D

Waiting 5 minutes sometimes for the host of any game to go ahead and start the f'n thing will chap your ass after a while. So this just makes the time fly by faster that's all. I've actually got all of my systems hooked up to that TV so I can even go on a cop-killing-rampage in GTA:San Andreas While my girlfriend watches "Oprah" right next to me. That's what I call spending "quality time" together. :grouphug:

i'd love 2 have a split screen tv, i've got a 32" & a 20" tv in the living room so i can game and watch yv at the same time.
