This show is playing musical chairs with its character's motivation and characterization. You never know what's going to happen -- not because of good writing but because a character can change sides and direction at the drop of a dime... and that's silly. These writers are nowhere near super-hero comic book quality (like Bendis, Ennis, Brubaker, Fraction, or Vaughn), just day time soap opera level, which Heroes has been reduced to. I wonder if the original season one writers were replaced.
Yeah, you are exactly right. The show has really stopped making sense. It's pretty clear not even the writers know what's next, which makes the whole thing seem silly, as you said.
Here is some awesome logic from the Heroes' writing team:
"Let's take Hiro, already one of our more annoying and immature characters, and show the audience a glimpse of a cool side as "future Hiro", and never show it again. In fact, let's make Hiro even more annoying and immature by having his mind revert back to that of a child".
That's just one small example of how writers seem like they trying to get out their contract by making the show self-destruct.
I thought the coolest part was when Nathan told the Marine guy to stop Peter by any means. Then right when he turns around, SNAPYONECK.

That was the best thing to happen on the show in a long time.
I think I'm at the point where I don't feel the need to watch the show anymore. I really don't care what happens to any of these characters. None of them have any semblance of real person.
