Was it a PS2 game? When using the pre-filled information it used to say how many controller the game supported and if the game supported a memory card it would say this:
Memory Card: Yes (1)
I had a couple of buyers think that meant the game came with a memory card. One game was sold for $4, how can a buyer expect a game and a memory card for $4?
No gamecube. I usually uncheck that "include information" box on my movie/game auctions, it's just useless clutter.
eBay pisses me off lately. I'm trying to sell my old cell phone, so I listed it on eBay. Got a nearly immediate buy it now purchase, which had me quite pleased. I looked at it and found that not only was it someone who had just signed up today and had no feedback, they wanted me to ship to Nigeria. Obviously a scam purchase. The thing that pisses me off however is the fact that I made sure to set the options to not allow purchases outside of the United States.
So, somehow despite my settings, someone was able to purchase my items, which means I now have something like $27 in fees that are sitting in my account that I have to wait til either the seller responds to the claim I filed (which seems highly unlikely to me), or a week passes with no response (which seems more likely). I'm sure as hell not paying the fees because eBay screwed up and let someone buy my item who shouldn't have been able to.
Also, here's a thought I had while filing the claim to cancel the purchase: why is there an pre-filled choice stating that the buyer wanted me to ship to a country that I didn't ship to, when there are settings to not allow them to buy to begin with? If it's such a problem that they needed to make this claim option, perhaps they should just fix their shitty system so that it doesn't happen?
You have to change it in buying requirements. I had to contact ebay to find that out. Ebay fails to mention that it is absolutely pointless to set it on the auction page.
Honestly, we need a return to the good ol' yard sale. Ebay has completely screwed the pooch.
Is Amazon any better?
No they suck as well
It's less that I have a problem with the shipping, and more that I don't want to deal with the people. I apologize in advance if this offends any international people here, but it's been my experience in the past that all international buyers are one of two things. They are either a) scammers trying to just take my product and leave me with nothing, or b) incompetent idiots who will bitch when the item doesn't arrive in Australia from Illinois in 2 days.
Now, I know that that isn't always the case. I know there are plenty of international people here on this site that are are perfectly honest and would be great to sell to. However, it's just not worth the extra hassle for the slight bit of extra money that I would make by shipping internationally.
The Australians I have dealt with have been A+. But that is for non game related items, I don't sell games outside the US.
