I'd like this added to the OP:

It's a great upgrade for all portable gaming enthusiasts.
At the risk of sounding like a complete amateur cheapassgamer... What is Gold Box? Is there anything that I have to sign up for other than simply having an Amazon account? Sorry...

Dammit, why now?!? My wallet has been crying for about a month now because of Amazon. Oh well we'll see what goes up. Just hope they have some good Blu-ray movies.

Sucks for us New Yorkers. 8.75% sales tax for all online purchases now (starting June 1). I've already bought up a ton of stuff online the past week, but it'd be nice to get in on this deal too.

Damn forgot about the Amazon Tax Law... I gotta start sending stuff to my parents house in NJ lol...
How much do you guys think this TV will be? I was planning on purchasing the Samsung LCD LN52A650 anyway (newest model).
More than I can afford. I hope they'll put one of the 32" 720p Samsungs on fire-sale another day.

at first I thought the thread was about HD-DVD's on Amazon, and I figured that's why they raised the price on all their HD-DVD's...

oh my god! are you serious? i didn't know that this actually went through. i heard talk of it, but nobody said if or when it was actually going to happen. this is some of the most craptastic news i've heard in ages.

Sweet! I don't even have a Blu Ray player yet, but I'm probably going to buy Smallville. That's the season I'm up to, and I'd love to own it in HD.

I know nothing about that Samsung Blu Ray player, but just as a general caution don't buy a player unless it supports profile 2.0....which means a Playstation 3 or I think I saw one other model being advertised as that (maybe a Panasonic?, and I assume any new Sonys?)
whats up with the Lounge chair? It should be replaced with a HD Tivo.
That is kind of funny. Tivo HD fits in just slightly better than...a chair

I'm reading amazon reviews of this TV and it sounds like it has been plagued by panel problems. What are others opinions, is amazon generally filled with that many complaints?
so no games?
nope not today, but they said there will be some during the week so hang in there.

Just to add to the correct comments from Wolfpup, stay away from this player unless it's dirt cheap. It has problems stopping and stuttering during movies (new and old). It has yet to be fixed and Samsung support isn't helping the matter. It's no surprise that this player was chosen to discount. I'm sure they want to get it out of inventory. There is a newer model out now with less problems.
If only I had 57 bucks for the Die Hard set. . . What dads are going to be excited to watch Smallville, teenage dads?
LOL so true... my kids not old enough to buy me Smallville... anyhow, the show went down the drain after season six.

Man, I just upgraded my home theater, now HD week. $57 for the Die Hard set is a good deal. But I've made a decision to not buy anymore HD/Blu dvds that I would be upgrading from regular dvd.
2pm PDT- Lounge Chair (not sure what this has to do with high def)
Perhaps this thread should be closed and a new one started when there is actually a video game deal? I suppose you could argue that an HDTV is somewhat related, but so, then, are lounge chairs because you could play a video game while in a lounge chair. If not that, then definitely sofas. I often play video games while on the sofa. Here's your sofa deal of the day:

One of the pictures of the TV that you can click and enlarge shows dead pixels. I am sure that will increase sales

The Samsung BD-P1400 Blu Ray player just popped up for $270 shipped.

Player has had some problems though.. WM gift card deal still sounds better.

Damn. I''ve been seriously considering that TV all day, but now I'm kinda getting scared. Does anyone know if 8 ms response time would cause blur on a TV this size?

Should be fine, but there's better tv's for around the same price.

With 120 hz processing? I always thought that they were a lot more expensive.

120hz is mostly a gimmic fpr now. On paper it's great, but most of the tv's that use it "stutter" and don't utilize it properly.

There's quite a few plasmas in this range that are far superior... if your room is not that bright.
