Hmmm, being a lawyer = getting hot chicks. I see the light.
Nothing attracts girls more than that kind of financial security.
Holy crap - I wasn't expecting that when I got home from work. I hope it's mine! ;)

I'm pretty psyched right now - if all goes well this will be #2!
all drinks on you, btw

my tab is out of control.

Congrats,

My wife and I have been trying too (for about a year), and no luck. But, I'm sure it'll work out in good time.

Glad your excited, every kid should have excited parents waiting for his/her arrival.

congrats javery

We recently found out my wife is 3 1/2 months pregnant (about a month ago now I guess) with our first.

Whew. She just got back from the doctor and all is well. We are heading into the 20th week soon (already!) and we get to go for the big ultrasound. Almost 1/2 way there!!! Ack! I can't wait!
Did you ever post if it's a boy or a girl?

Also, any names come up yet? :D
No and no. :D

We are waiting until birth to find out the sex... and possibly name the kid - we haven't had a single discussion about it yet.

Haha, good deal. I think whenever I have a kid, I want to know the gender as soon as possible so I can ponder names. I'm also one of those people who tried to find their hidden Christmas presents before Christmas.

no shit your waiting...i couldn't due it...so your baby is due late may/june correct? We were at the doctors yesterday and my wife is in week 23...since you already have a child, do you any recomendations about brands for a baby? Ie diaper disposal, furniture etc...already got a carriage, car seat, bouncer, high chair.

I have two kids, and highly recommend the Fisher Price Ocean (Aquarium) Wonders collection. My daughters both loved the "take a long" swing, it was the only thing that would calm them down when they were wee in the middle of the night. The playmat is also a nice buy because when they start crawling it can be converted into a play tunnel (to crawl through). Its all fairly well made and takes a decent beating (the swing got carried EVERYWHERE). Things that convert to other more useful things later are always high on the list of worthwhile purchases. Babies dont use things for very long at all. So you end up dropping a hundred bucks on one thing that lasts for maybe five months before they are ready for the next stage.

Also water teether books were a big hit. They are plastic books that float and have big handles for "teething" purposes and can be refridgerated. Some of them squeak and have different textures on the pages. Ive had several but strangely the WalMart brand one (Child of Mine I think) was the one they liked best and held up for forever.

We did not find out the gender last time either. We had a few names picked out but nothing definite. She actually didn't have a name until the day we left the hospital - she was just referred to as "Baby Girl ____."

I think I'd like to know but my wife likes surprises and she is in charge. It makes sense to find out because there are a million things to do before the baby arrives like buy clothes, paint the room, buy furniture, etc. Knowing the gender really helps although since we didn't know last time we went gender neutral on a lot of stuff (yellows and greens) and now we are ready for the next one no matter the gender. Had we known beforehand I probably would have gone pink crazy.

Hmmm... I like the Diaper Genie for disposal options but as for everything else I think it's hard to go wrong with whatever you choose. I do recommend getting a video monitor though instead of just audio - it really helps when the baby is crying at night and you are deciding whether it requires a visit or if he/she will settle down eventually (you get a feel for it). Congrats!

I am in the same boat, I would love to find out the sex, but my wife is in charge as well. She always says that if I carried the baby for 9 months, I could make the decision. Suprise is nice, but crap, we have a lot to prepare for.

Anything by P&G. Congrats Ryan. Another future Sox fan! :)

I asked my gf recently if she would want to know (not that we're planning on having kids any time soon. fuck no. ) She said she would, just so other people would know what to say, instead of "it".

I really wouldn't mind knowing or not, myself.

A conception?! When did this occur?!

Oh...don't name your child "Jaquantie" or "Sarah AnnaMarie" Please for all that is good!

Good to hear everything's going well....

uhm, so I felt that this legendary tirade against the English language needed to be repeated:
You and your wife must be going on and off like crazy 24/7 lock shock and tight or am I right?

Anyhows I hope little Elijah Daniel will grow to be a healthy boy or is it Crystal Melissa who will become a vigorous girl?

Also don't over do it now Sailor you might end up like my father who is on his third family and second Child Support.

Again think about the world your children will live in and explore. Anyhows children is allways nice to have around. I am only twelve and before I was two:applause:

Again Congrats now tie your tubes?
javery, in your previous experiance as an expecting father, was there anything that you did/could buy your wife to make things easier...When we were at the doctors the other day, i noticed an expecting mother kit (they also had a newborn kit, and post nadal kit)...it had some tea, some cream for stretch marks, so lotion with some soothing odor on it etc...
