Homefront Pre-order (Free Xbox/PS3 Headset) $59.99 Best Buy

People are lame if they are suggesting this game is going to suck because of the pre-order deal. WTF is that about? There were $20 gift cards for Call of Duty and crap. This is no different. Just instead of future videogame money, you get an accessory.

If nobody challenges Call of Duty, and just quits making FPS, then we are all doomed in the same way the NFL games are with only 1 company making the genre. Madden sucks balls.
 
Best Buy Spring Meadows (Toledo) told me last night they getting a whole two headsets in. so FWIW try and get there first?

2? Damn...X360 PS3 or both. BB rep in princeton stated it was just the X360 ones that wouldn't meet store demand.
 
That's so lame, just noticed the headset is in store only now and I didn't see anything about a 10 dollar credit.
Now I need to find a new deal
 
is this deal still alive? i went to my store yesterday and the guy told me that they're receiving only two headset per flatform.

If they only have 2 per store per system this promo is a disaster but I'll take the $30 giftcard value.
 
I got a chance to play this today. I didn't have high expectations, but I found it to be surprisingly fun. Although one thing I found annoying is having to wait for your AI companions to catch up so you could move onto the next section. Probably not a day one purchase for me, but I definitely will pick it up once the price goes down.
 
Went to Best Buy to see if I could pre-order instore, there was nothing there. I'm guessing I'll just have to go Tuesday morning to see if I can get a headset
 
Bah, was gonna go in tommorow =/. If it is done, unless i can either get the Headset still (Or the Gift Card), i think ill pass on the game. Too many other good games coming out this month

If you do have a pre-order slip probably outta luck on the headset altogether, it would be different if the promo was simply "purchase" get a free headset. Their already aware that pre-order demand is greater than headset supply I'd expect them to preserve the pre-orders 1st no matter how few they have. Plus your out of luck on the 500 bonus points too.

Not sure if you're aware, but Best Buy has changed the way they do in store pre orders. There should be a large touch screen display in the game section. (at mine it's on an endcap where they display the new games of the week) The screen usually runs videos, but touch it and it'll give you a screen where you can see pre order offers or a search box to type in what you want. When you find the game you want, select it and it will print a piece of paper that you take to the register to pay your deposit.

Yeah and Best Buy Corporate can control when that Kiosk turns off Pre-Orders for specific titles such as Homefront with the Headset. And they have done just that.
 
I went ahead and pre-ordered it from gamestop. I liked their exclusives better for this. I really hate gamestop though. I reallly hope its good. If it gets bad reviews Im taking it back before I open it.

Blerg, I hate pre-ordering from Best Buy. It's always an ordeal with the one by me.
We don't have any of those kiosk in the store by me either I went and checked. Thanks for you information though guys.

OOHHH, sorry I wasn't aware it was turned off. I put in a preorder just over a week ago. I thought there may be people that weren't aware of that new touch screen system...I know I wasn't aware of it til I asked an employee what happened to the preorder area.
Now that I hear there's lilkely to be no headsets, I'm thinking of switching my preorder to gamestop to get the extra guns and stuff....
 
I already pre-ordered mine a while back. I know some ppl who worked on the game over at Kaos, so I'm a little excited for it. Better than another COD.
 
If I wanted to make an opinion I will wait unit its $30. I rather not waste my money and keep playing BC2 or MOH online.

If you have a pre-order already I'd stick with BB either you get the exclusive headset, the turtlebeach one, maybe a $30 giftcard or the value deducted off of another headset.

As it stands now
Price match the TRU $15 giftcard offer making the game $45
+10(500 bonus points)for pre-ordering
+exclusive headset($30 value)
There's also a 10% off coupon that starts this week making if there's no TRU to price match.

I went to best buy over the weekend and asked what will happened. He told me that only 4 Homefront headsets to the 21 preorders they had. So the other headset is the XLC and he said the Homefront headset is "similar" to the XLC(but I hate the XLC) so I hope that if I dont get the Homefront headset, I get a $30 gift card.
 
Have any of you guys been able to price match the Toys R Us gift card at Best Buy if you already preordered the game at Best Buy because they told me I had to choose either the headset or the $15, so I just took the headset.
 
I decided to pass, Best Buy was out of headsets anyway, and 45$ seems too much, especially when i havent even played my Killzone 3 and Bulletstorm yet
 
Not really a reply to the deal, but more of a heads up. New copies of homefront have a code for online multiplayer in it. From my understanding you can play without it but I think there is some sort of level cap or handicap for accounts without the code. It's a one time use and it seems like they may be selling them through the marketplace(ex. Psn) for people who buy used copies.

Man, they are going crazy with those Codes lately. There goes buying a used copy, guess ill be waiting for a price drop or b2g1 somewhere.
 
Got mine from the Best Buy today, brought in my pre-order slip and they gave me the Turtle Beach Ear Force XLC model headphones

Had a $25 giftcard and $25 in RZ points so I only paid $7.xx for game.

Your capped at level 5 i've been told which I reached after playing 4 games.
 
I went into Best Buy Saturday to preorder and they wouldnt let me.
Told me to come in Tuesday to buy the game.
First time EVER i was told i couldnt preorder a game.
Needless to say they lost that sale.
Yes i was lazy and frustrated about it and DIDNT talk to a manager i just left.

you can still price match a gc offer after purchase just like a reg. on the spot price match try it that way.

It's just how they do preorders. Been working there for a year and normally the Saturday before a Tuesday release the preorder option is removed from our touchscreen kiosk.

I'm with you though, total BS. I have a feeling it has to too with how we receive product. Most 'medium' releases we have in our warehouse a week ahead of time so maybe they're concerned about pre-orders plus people who want to pick it up release day may not be enough so they cut it off a bit early?

Only release that comes to mind where we ran out of release day was LBP2 but I think we only had 2 preorders. Considering there are 2 gamestops (used to be 4) within a 5 minute drive we lose a lot of preorders because the option to preorder has been removed. Sucks but if you're that serious about getting in a preorder why wait until 3 days before the game drops?
 
They were out of the headsets, but they tried to pull a "while supplies last" thing so I told them about how the flyer didn't say that, and they said they'd notify me when the next shipment came in and I got it in writing on my receipt just in case. They said they ran out within the hour they got the shipment in.

I was shot down yesterday, and decided to not give them my money for a headset i dont need. Id rather have the GC and Guide from TRU.
