So, you thought that we were done? Not yet my friends. It's time for playoff HR derby!!!

Here's the gist, same rules as the regular season, 5 players per team but only 3 players will be picked by the entrants, I will randomly assign the other 2!

Edit: In round #2, teams will be only 4 players with 2 of those randomly assigned.

Instead of counting the weekend HRs , the contest will run round by round of the playoffs.

The team with the most HRs per round will once again get a pick from the prize pool.

RESTRICTIONS:

1. You have played in at least half of the regular season contests.

AND

2. You have not won the HR Derby before!

question brian, is this a win and out type thing to try to get people who havent won a chance to win? Or is it just a new startover thing for the people who never won and can win as much as their series picks allow?
 
On paper, I'd say Mr Ryles has the best random picks, but theres a reason why we play the games! Hard to root against Lowell, but I hope he lays a goose egg.

Getting Holliday is cool, but Casey Kotchman has 11 HRs all season :cold:

Although, Visc got the short end drawing Doug Mientkiewicz.

Oh Jesus, both Holliday and Howard homered. But, the lead is at 4 because some people have either Big Papi or Tulowitski.

Come to think of it, why didn't I choose Papi?
 
is 5 homers the lead right now or no? if so i believe danimal and i are tied for 5, with myself having one more rbi overall than him. Hes down to arod and im done... so as long as arod doesnt go deep or drive a run in ill be happy.... assuming 5 is the lead??

After reading your post, I did some quick research. It looks like a four-way tie for first with 5 HRs between the two of us, Supreme, and PackAttack. Visc and Nyquil both have 4 HRs with players still going in the Cleveland-New York series, too. There may be people with 3 HRs and still active players, I didn't check for anyone with less than 4 HRs to this point. Here's how I have it (unofficially, of course) at the top of the leaderboard:

BasketCase1080: 5 HRs, 10 RBI, no players remaining
Danimal: 5 HRs, 9 RBI, Alex Rodriguez still playing
Supreme: 5 HRs, 9 RBI, no players remaining
PackAttack: 5 HRs, 8 RBI, no players remaining
Nyquil: 4 HRs, 7 RBI, Franklin Gutierrez still playing
Visc: 4 HRs, 7 RBI, Doug Mientkiewitz still playing

As a Red Sox fan, it makes me a little sick to be saying this, but come on, A-Rod!

Edit: I had originally posted that BasketCase1080 had 9 RBI, but after going back and double-checking, he does indeed lead the tiebreaker with 10. Sorry for the mixup if anyone read this post when I had it wrong.
 
not gonna lie... i like the chances of either danimal or i winning this week. And based on arods amazing post season play over the past few years, i wouldnt be entirely shocked if he went 0-4 :)

Actually, the way my luck goes in these things, I predict something like this: A-Rod will hit a solo HR to put me in the lead, but then Gutierrez will hit 2 bombs including a walk-off grand slam to end the series and give the derby to Nyquil. :lol:
