Hori Screen Protectors - Help

My hori screen protector got dirty and some spots on it, so I had to remove it and temporarily am using screen protectors that are distributed by BDA Associates (with the official seal). I don't want to have to buy another $9.99 Filter kit (with all the "filters") by Hori, but I need more Hori protectors (I'm concerned about my DS Lite, I've only had it a month and its got some smearing on it, and I don't want it scratched. My other DS, a DS Phat, got a lot of scratches on it in the two years I've had it. Are there any stores that carry just the protectors for the touch screen? Not the whole "kit" (I've already got that). I know of Decalgirl.com & J&R Music World. I've never seen these at Walmart or Best Buy and I am pretty sure never at GameStop. I will not buy unlicensed protectors. From this: http://www.hori.jp/us/buy.html I get the impression that more places should carry Hori, but don't. Any suggestions? I just need the touch screen one. I won't buy Intec, Pelican or any other cheap brand.

Do you have a Fry's Electronics near you? I know there are tons of those stores in California, dont know about anywhere else. I know that Fry's almost always has the Hori brand screen protectors in stock.

Seconding Pajama_Man's suggestion. If the filters are just dirty (and not scratched), cleaning them's your best option. I use lens cleaner (the type for glasses) and a lens cloth, myself, but clear tape should work fine as well.

I also have that Filter kit, bought at Target. Supposedly, the screen-only pack is also sold at Target but I had no luck finding it there. Fry's may also be a good place to buy it too, but you might want to call both places just to make sure. Yeah, there's always online if you're willing to pay shipping, or if you order from DealExtreme, just might have to wait a couple of weeks since they ship from China. =p

The Closest Fry's is an 8 hour drive to Illinois. :p I don't know if lens cleaner will help, I'll try.......I have some around somewhere because I wear glasses. Would LCD Cleaner for a computer monitor work, too? I may end up ordering from Decalgirl.com because they have the Hori USA version and the shipping is fairly reasonable. I'll try the lens cleaner trick because I am sure the clear tape won't work....... I think I tried that but maybe I didn't do it right. edit: I think the "spots" are actually places where the special layer is sort of peeling off......I tried to clean it with lens cleaner and then wipe it with a cloth. I have a piece of tape on it, but I am pretty sure the specail protective layer is starting to wear off and that's the reason for the spots. They were affecting being able to see when I had my DS in my car and it was really sunny. I guess I'll just have to order some online because I doubt Target or Walmart will be carrying the screen only Hori brand anytime soon. And I'm afraid my BD&A distributed with official seal might not be protecting as well, either. That's the one I am using temporarily.

Target definitely sells the screen-only pack - I saw it at a local one a month or so back. I thought that Wal-Mart also sold them, but I've never actually looked (I stay away from that store like the plague).

I know Hori is the name of choice for screen protectors, but what about first party? I saw some Nintendo brand screen protectors this afternoon at TRU for either $4 or $5 and was thinking about picking them up.

the ones distributed by BD&A which have the nintendo seal aren't that great after all (those are the ones you saw @ TRU). I removed mine until I can get a new Hori pack. I just have to be extremely careful. I don't have any heavy stylus use games, but I do have Nintendogs and well, just to be on the safe side, I want the Hori ones, especially when I train my dog and use the stylus.
