How did an idiot like me get lucky enough to still be married after 9 years!?

CAGiversary!
Anyone got a good idea for an anniversary gift?

I thought maybe a vacuum or an ironing board, but those aren't too romantic.

I want to do something big for the 10 year anniversary next year, like a trip or something. So this year won't be as big. But I'd still like to do or get something nice.

Drugs?
Booze?

That's all I can think of because I'm sure you don't have any money.

Write 99 reasons why you love your wife on post it notes and put them somewhere where she will find them. I did this to my wife when we were still dating in high school. I actually put them in her locker at school on her birthday.

As for the gift, how about a gift certificate to a really good spa and an invitation to take her out on a special date afterwards.

That's such a bad idea. My father got my mother a microwave cart one year. They aren't together anymore ;)

What did you do last year?

How about dinner at a really nice restaurant? I don't know if you have one around there or not, but The Melting Pot is a really nice place.

OH and congratulations! My wife and I just celebrated our 1-year anniversary.

very nice idea.

New pheromones.
Biologically speaking, that is normal amount of time it takes for someone to get used to your pheromones, which correlates with why marriages only last 10 years.

Happy Anniversary, don't screw it up!

hahaha; it's so funny when people try to put a scientific spin on love and marriage.

If you truly love the person, you will stay together. It has nothing to do with pheromones. That may be part of the initial attraction, but in the long run it's much deeper.

Take her skydiving, scuba diving, or indoor rock climbing.

Every now and then you gotta toss in something to make her shit her pants or see parts of the world.

Or the other way around, to mix things up.[/QUOTE]

Dammit, took my answer!

Uhh, ok, why not get her...a poolboy?

Don't have a pool? Even better!

I was going to say that if you're still married after 9 years, you're doing something right yourself. But after reading your vacuum and ironing board ideas, I'm going to say that maybe you are just lucky after all.

Don't forget to write a heartfelt note with your gift, whatever it may be. It doesn't have to be perfectly written or poetic, just tell her that you love her. Point out the little things she does and says that make you love her so much, express gratitude for the years of marriage through all its ups and downs, share a vision for your marriage in the future, and so on. The bottom line is that real communication of love and admiration can never be substituted with gifts and dinners, only supplemented. You can also do this verbally, of course, but women tend to better appreciate the thoughtfulness in properly sitting down to write it out by hand.

Focus on her, take the day off and go shopping and don't complain about it... make her buy whatever she wants with your opinions saying if you like it or don't....

hell, maybe get into Victoria's secret and she can show you things you may like !
I know I notice the catalogs in the mail and definately ask mine which ones she likes and then I show her ones that I like ;)

Anyways, do something just unselfish and focused on her... give her a gift that made you think of her or KNOW that she would like it.

and it can be cheap.

Sending her to a spa would be a good one, but going with her might be an even better one.
