Is there alot of players playing live? i heard that a game gets old real fast when the sequal comes out, as in not many people playing the 1 year old title..ie.. madden 2004, then madden 2005 hits everyone follows.

What, you mean people would rather play a newer one than a older one!?

Geez, there's like.. over a million people on XBox Live. It's a freakin' blast.

That's partly true. But some games have alot of staying power; Mechassault, Halo 2, Crimson Skies, Rainbow Six 3. But if there's a sequel that comes out for any game, of course most everyone flocks over to the new game.

Depends on the game. Halo 2 Is obviously the most played game so you'll get matchmade in seconds. MechAssault is blooming, but will be cut off by MechAssault 2 shortly. Sequels kill off the originals most of the time, with the exception of Rainbow Six which everyone still seems to play here and there, despite Black Arrow being out for awhile.

Games like Dead Man's Hand which is old and didn't sell well, plus is being overshadowed by Halo 2, has about one or two people at the most playing on live. Then again theres a few games like Jedi Academy that still has about 40+ people playing on at peak times, and a few there at nights.

Out of all the new games I've seen released, Outrun 2 has the be the most dead live game out there. I never see more then six people playing it on Live. But people are still there, you'll meet a nice clique.

Deader than Tron and Whacked?

I don't own Whacked so can't comment on that.
Tron 2.0 I've seen more people than in Outrun 2.

Hmm... I should boot up some old live games and see how many people are playing Wolfenstein, Links, NHL Rivals and Midnight Club 2. Better yet I bet when Midnight Club 3 is out, no one is playing part two.

Hmm. Maybe Outlaw Volleyball to while I'm at it, and my best friend said no one has been playing LIne of Contact for weeks now, which is pretty sad.

It's really fun. There is a decent group of people online that take the game way too seriously, so that kind of makes it stupid sometimes.

derad mans hand was underrated IMO. Me and manimal had a blast playing that when it came out. Plus wasnt it $20 or $30 new?

i just got it like a month ago and i love it :)

no more adding ppl to each separate game's friend list like the ps2 online :) and easier to interact with the ppl, and more ppl have headsets on xbl :)

woohoo!

I loved Dead Mans Hand when it first came out and yea it was $30 another great game was Unreal II Awakenings that game was awesome but hardly nobody played it and it was only $30 or maybe $40 i forget. Something big came out about a month after its release so nobody cared about it.

Once you go Live it's hard to go back, computer AI just sorta stands around and aint that smart but you can never recreate what a Billybob469 or JesusdrinksCoors will do in a game.

Project Gotham Racing 2 [my favorite online game] has a pretty good crowd still , more than a year after it's release . I don't play sports games , besides they take too long to play anyway . XBL rules , I got 2 guys at my work hooked on it . One of them renewed for sure . Long story short , it's a blast . Just be sure to use a 2 month card to begin your subscription . I PM ed all of mine , but someone will probably hook you up . :)

Better than you can imagine. I didn't know how good it was until I got it for myself. I play everyday on Live now.

Your theory about the "sequel flock" is true. Maybe not about XBL because I personally only got it last week, but I know on XBConnect, before Halo 2 came out, everyone would play Halo 1 on there. There were average 180 servers at any given time. Since the Halo 2 release, most youll ever see on there is like 20.
