Well, I really want a ps3 after playing at my friend's house. I always fight with my brother over the xbox 360 since its in my room, because its the only room with an hdtv. So, i want a ps3 for games and for multimedia, i started selling off things to raise money but i want to spend around $200 bucks, 250 at the most. I will most likely use goozex for games. So, i'm curious how much did you pay for your ps3 and what model is it?

I have the 60gb backwards compatible hardware model (whatever the designation is for it). I paid $400 for it I think, slightly used (I don't think the guy ever used it.). It was 6 Mo. or so after the PS3 was released when I got it.

80 GB in December 08.
$400 out of pocket to Amazon
-$69 Amazon promotional discount
-$150 Sont Credit Card Rebate
Total Cost ~$180

So, i see dell runs those promotions often, HOPEFULLY, SONY induces a price drop then with promotion it run me around 250 bucks. E3 is soon so, only time will tell. I'am kinda tempted to order one off ebay i've seen 'em for around $250 BIN

$499, 20GB Model (later threw a 250GB HD in) bought it a couple weeks after the Christmas that it came out (so early 2007)

$400 for a 60Gb model right when they where being phased out. Hunted forever to find one in a store and finally found one at a Target hiding in the back.

On ebay I see alot of console's that can only work with hdmi and composite doesnt work or only composite works and hdmi doesn't i may take my chances with someone on CAG and see if i can score one for 100 bucks that only works through HDMI

$624 (tax, a movie and 2yr service plan included). It was the mgs4 bundle, and i havent regret paying that much for it.
i already upgraded to a 500gb hdd, so you could get the model with the highest hdd, and not worry about replacing it, or get the cheaper one but end up replacing it.

$400 for the MGS4 bundle (80GB w/ BC) June 12th, 2008.

Bought it on launch day during a Walmart promotion that included a $100 gift card. Sold said gift card to parents for $100.

Final Total: $320 w/ tax.

Somewhere between $150-$200 for a 60gb unit after the first price drop. I traded in a ton of old PS2 and DS games while they were running the extra 30% trade-in bonus. Got much more than I actually expected.

That's the same deal I did but I'm pretty sure that bundle was $500 retail, not $400.

Traded my refuurbished 360(with a failing hard disk drive), wireless adaptor, 60 gb hardrive, witch backwards compatiblity about 6 months ago. No i dident rip the guy off, I let him know and since the 360 was still under its original waranty he accepted the trade.

Lets see Aug 07 GameCrazy had the new ones for $500
They offered a $50 trade in deal with a ps2 +$50 if you put it toward a new system
I traded in my slim ps2, 1 memory cards, 2 controllers, and like 5 ish games and got another $50 so the 60 gb ps3 cost me $350

i got mine a year ago from a guy who bought it on launch damn thing didnt even have first firmware update ... i payed 375 60g no scratches got 5 games a blu ray and an extra control.... thnx craigslist

Damn Eco, I hate you. I wanted that MGS4 deal badly, but they were out pretty early. Instead, I got my 40 GB with GTA4 and an extra controller that came with 2 charging cables for $530 (that's with tax). Actually, my relatives and parents chipped in and got it for me as a graduation present. As much as I love my PS3, I wish I could've told them to wait later for a better deal.

Oops -- you're right. So then it came out to $425 after selling my Wal-Mart gift card.

I woke up at ~4:00 AM and sat in the parking lot till the store opened at 6:00 AM, and I was the second person to arrive! And I had to leave for a business trip to Maryland as soon as I arrived to work. Good times, and definitely worth all that effort.

599 plus tax - on Launch Day! 60gb version. I've most definitely enjoyed the system overall. When you want something you have to go out and get it. It was very difficult holding off on buying a 360 but I was able to do it, and bought the PS3.

$400 for a 40gb model from Best Buy plus an extra $90 for a 320gb hard drive from Frys
disc-based games have averaged $30 each

$400 for the MGS4 80gb BC model, plus a $100 gift card. This was at Best Buy pricematched to Walmart cause they were sold out. $100 credit from the sony visa card. And from rewards on the sony visa card, i've gotten another DS3, a bluray remote, and $50 in gift cards without spending a dime.

the playstation visa card is now like a $150 credit or more off the purchase of a PS3 (or anything over $300, really). go read up on it, it's in the deals forum
